Superb place. Sit on tip-up seats rather than benches at the Back which are very hard. We had an excellent lecture and photo exhibitions. Projection also large and excellent as was sound system.

Aside from the exhibitions by the main entrance, this venue regularly hosts all kinds of amazing talks about the world around us across its many rooms. I've heard everything from adventurous tales from intrepid explorers in their more intimate spaces to inspirational stories of forgiveness (via The Forgiveness Project's annual lectures) in the main lecture theatre. Great venue.

Attended a conference here. I didn't get to visit the building in it's entirety.

The conference was held in the lecture room which was quite comfortable. The screen and sound system were of good quality.

There are historical facts along the walls, really quite interesting.

Refreshments provided were ok. Facilities need upgrading.

I would appreciate a thumbs up if you found this review helpful. Thank you

Small but very interesting museum and exhibitions. Great location near Hyde Park and other popular museums. A lot of interesting exhibitions and educational events. Most of them free. Very nice and friendly staff

Historic building which made a comfortable conference venue. Catering was good and the lecture theatre gave a good view for everyone and good acoustics. A lack of motorcycle parking nearby is a pain in the arse.

This building is the perfect blend of old and new, both architecturally and philosophically. The old map rooms (and the old maps) are cherished to behold, but they put some remarkable exhibitions on in their very modern gallery at street level. I went to a lecture here as well - a very inspiring space. I very much recommend a tour - though you won't see some bits unless you book the space for a specific purpose :-)

I am glad a visited a few times the famous Royal Geografical Society. I enjoyed the exposition of some early pioneers of photograpy, the Boissonnas brothers and the Sinai album tracking the biblical places of Exodus.

The RGS always has interesting exhibitions on in the space by the entrance.
However, you must become a member / fellow for the real treat - regular lectures from fascinating people, access to an extensive library and support for your next antarctic expedition.

Fabulous building alone. The exhibition is amazing, inspiring. The depth of knowledge over the decades that's is persevered for us to take on to the next generation. Highly recommend, it takes a full day, well worth it.

There was a free exhibition of the director's photography from places she had visited around the world. There were some stunning landscapes and interesting cultures to witness. There was a meeting also occurring however it was open only to members. The good news is, anyone can register to become a member so I'll be doing this to attend future meetings!

Britain from the Air is the current exhibition. The subjects of the photos are great, although the quality isn't spot on and the layout of the exhibition is weird, having to squeeze into narrow spaces between building and boards to see some of the photos

Fantastic experience to listen to geographical speeches. Went to see the Road to Everest speech and the seats were very comfortable with books for purchase clearly indicated. Lovely place to be in especially in the heart of London.

The HQ includes the asymmetrical Grade II Listed Lowther House attributed to Norman Shaw (circa 1875) amongst the buildings on the site.
Hosting exhibitions, lectures and curating public programs.
Housing historic collections pertaining mostly to exploration and geography.
Here they cover the territory, all over the place; here, there and everywhere but of course a map s not necessarily the territory.
Someone here s bound to be capable of suggesting a viable route to get you home.

Get away from the crowds further down Exhibition Road and visit this tranquil venue. It always has very strong photography exhibitions, either by vintage explorers or present day explorers. Discover far flung parts of the planet, and their indigenous peoples, and culture. The venue also hosts inspirational travel and exploration talks in the evening - checkout their website for detail.
