SVNIT has ten hostels with nine for boys and one for girls named after personalities of India.

Each hostel is administrated by the Chief Hostel Warden.
Each hostel elects representatives from the hostel residents for areas like Entertainment, Computer Facility, Network, Environment and Cultural. Two mega hostels for boys and one mega hostel for girls with large number of facilities have been constructed.

SVNIT, I Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Institute of technology is located at Icchhanath, Surat. It is very good engineering college. Campus is very big measuring area around 250 acres. Faculties of this Institute are very knowledgeable. It has very nice guest house.

I am student in this college and I would say that the faculty over here are the most cooperative and understanding. It's one of the NITs, you can judge by on your own after that.

My graduation college where I spent the golden years of my life. Keep hearing from people that things have changed a lot both infrastructure wise (witnessed the same in my last visit) and also the culture but back in 2005-09 it used to be one hell of place and we surely witnessed hell lots of Ups and downs of the institute in those years

One of the finest institute in Surat as well as in country.

This Institute was established in 1961 as one of the RECs for imparting technical education in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. In the year 1983-84 the Under Graduate programmes in Electronics Engineering was introduced and in the year 1988-89 the UG programmes in Computer Engineering and Production Engineering was started. In the year 1995-96, UG programme in chemical Engineering was introduced. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, the Central Government on the advice of the University Grants Commission, has declared the Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology (SVREC), Surat to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat with status of Deemed University with effect from 4th December 2002. The Institute has been granted the status of Institute of National Importance w.e.f. Aug. 15, 2007. At present, the Institute is offering Six UG Programmes, Eighteen PG Programmes and Three M.Sc. Five Years Integrated Programme including doctoral programme in all above branches.

campus is good. only for senior citizen vehile is allowed inside campus. for youngster keep vehiche on maingate and go inside by walking. no one looks at your vehicle outside parked..

Making a lot of progress infrastructure wise just needs to be a bit more organised and cleaner both infrastructure wise and administrative wise

Excellent... A big big Campus & Hostels and Working Laboratories are very good.....also having free gym facility for college students.

What a campus ! Awesome walking track and tennis play ground. Cool breeze, lovely Greenery , inspiring youth jogging fast walking and stretching around the garden .

Institute of National Importance. What more does one want?

Gujarat's best engineering college, best lush and green campus, Best hostel life food ever, one of the best NIT's of India.
Situated in approx middle of the city, almost everything is available in college campus..

Infrastructure wise, the Institute is very good and also being in the middle of the city offers it a good accessibility. The main reason I'm not satisfied being a student here that they could not justify their fees hike amid the pandemic and forced students to pay it. The fees was increased by a factor of 6, with no transparency on how the money was used. Institute's response towards student query was also very bad, and the reason for hike they mentioned was complete nonsense. Being a student I had many expectations of studying in a government college but all those were thrown in drain. The most important thing that government college offered was good quality education in a justifiable amount than other private ones. But I'm sorry to say this, the government education sector is also being privatized and turning into a money making business.
I hope everyone hear who reads this question the current system of their ways and measures towards promoting education.

NIT SURAT is much better than DAIICT university. The rationale is given:

Prof. Sahasrabuddhe, Prof. Radha Parikh, Prof. Asim Banerjee and Prof. Manjunath Joshi have Proven Criminal Charges against them in the Legal case filed against them in National Human Rights Commission. These Cheap fellows launched a prolonged series of Honey Traps and Stalkers against me. Please type "KRISHNA TEJA" in Facebook; more than 18 Females who acted as Honey traps and 10 males who acted as stalkers are updated and released as PUBLIC ALBUMS in many Facebook profiles. I was a student of DAIICT university.
