Absolutely the worst workplace.
No safety - people have been injured and have died within company premises.
No washroom facilities available at Bandaragama.
No company structure - employees are expected to do whatever the owner and his chain of command requests, refusing puts your job in jeopardy.
Owner gets his personal work done through employees.
Workshop staff are treated poorly - no overalls or safety equipment are provided on time.
Industrial trainees are expected to work like slaves with no pay nor allowances, and are expected to work as labourers rather than use it as an opportunity to learn.
No HR division. All decisions are solely governed by the MD and his wife - it is a family business.
You survive in the company only if you bow down to the owners. Your voice is unheard, your suggestions are not communicated to the top. Even if they are, no reforms are made.
No proper work hours. You are expected to work for the company even at your own cost.
Pay is minimal. Dirt cheap company. Top board enjoys luxury while the rest of the employees scrape the bottom of the pay.
Fresh graduates are recruited at a "Travel allowance". They are neither given a letter of appointment, nothing related to a permanent employee status. They need to face 6 months of working (which does not count towards their working experience) without a legal employment document, and then face 6 months of probation as well. No pay slips are issued for this travel allowance.
No leaves are allowed until you reach probationary status. Even then, only half a day per month is allowed. Company shows every hesitation in making an individual a permanent employee, but isn't hesitant to expect the amount of work of one having 5 years of experience, from the get-go.
Does not issue employment letters to employees, usually. The service letters issued to leavers are disgusting in contrast to how much work those individuals have put in for the company, over their years of work.
Top management tries to brainwash you into thinking that this is the usual situation of a workplace, and that Nikini is the best company in Sri Lanka.
Worst practice of ethics I've seen at a workplace.
