I have been dealing with the staff at Nielsen Enterprises for well over 10 years and have had nothing but good experiences with them. They have a huge selection of motorsports equipment, accessories and parts. The sales people are very helpful and not over bearing tring to push you to a sale. As for the parts department they are well trained and helpful. Items that are not in stock arrive quick to allow you things working again.
Biggest selection of toys around! If you can't find it here, your not really looking
I purchased a 2010 Honda Fury from Nielsen. Coming over 600 miles via train, the staff was very helpful, especially the sales person I dealt with (Jerry C). He was prompt in responding to my pre-sale inquiries. Super friendly and professional when I arrived (he even came to pick me up at the train station), and to my surprise, even more helpful after the deal was done. I needed a few documents in order to export the bike to Canada, and Jerry was most helpful and prompt in his responses. The show room was amazing and the pricing (at least on motor bikes) seemed very competitive. A very good experience!
Went today to get my oil changed in my 14 sportsman with the intent of dropping it off and picking it up the following week not only did they do it today but in about 30 mins it was paid for loaded and ready to go! Most powersports dealers will accept service work but won't start until Monday. To top it off i had my dog with and they were more than happy to let her in (shes small and on the agreement that we hold her) and they had a yamaha demo going on on top of a swarm of customers. Hands down great service clean work friendly staff! YES they can be pricey depending on the work thats is needed BUT you get quality service and great attitudes to boot thank you everyone that helped me today!
Fair prices & a great selection of products & sport machines.
I purchased my first motorcycle today! Want to give a big THANK YOU to Jeff my salesman. He was very professional in all aspects. He helped me find a bike that I am so comfortable on and at a great price. Already thinking about next purchase. It will be from Nielsen s and I will be looking for Jeff. Thanks again.
We recently purchased a Yamaha 212X from Neilsen. We had personal service and attention throughout the entire process. We highly recommend them !
Always busy and always professional service. I got my best deal and keep going back.
Been buying here since 1974. If you go anywhere else you paid to much. I am not affiliated with them anyway or form just a very satisfied customer. 2 Snowmobiles. , 3 Honda Motorcycles , 1 Honda Foreman Quad oh yeah 1 Honda Harmony Lawn Mower. And planning to buy a new Honda Side by Side very soon.
Lots of inventory, knowledgable sales associate (Howard S.). Clean and warm atmosphere!
Fantastic purchase experience! It s no surprise that they ve been in business for more than 50 years. Nielsen s knows how to take care of their customers. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere and very knowledgeable staff. Jeff and Mike helped me get the bike I wanted at the right price and offered a great value for my trade. This was probably one of the quickest and easiest vehicle purchases I have ever made. I can t wait for my next purchase! Speaking of that you guys have a great location with a beautiful showroom but we didn t have a chance to check out the accessories department. The next time we are there, my wife and I are looking forward to checking out all the gear. That area is huge and has everything. You guys are a one stop shop!
Looking forward to my next visit!
Good variety of motorcycles to choose from and the staff was mostly friendly with me during my purchase of my first bike.
Mike Fouk has got to be one of the most if not thee' most straight forward salesmen I have ever delt with (and I've bought maaaany cars and bikes in my lifetime). Without a doubt an incredibly helpful, straightforward and honest guy. Since and including my first bike in 2002, I have purchased 5 motorcycles from Mike Fouk directly (both sport & cruisers). I have also brought family and friends to him who ended up buying anywhere from half a dozen to a full dozen bikes combined from him. I have also purchased a couple other bikes used from private parties and Mike has always still been 100% helpful with suggestions and advice to help me make the right decisions!
I purchased a Yamaha SR400 motorcycle and a Yamaha WR250f dirt bike simultaneously in may 2019. It was the closest dealership around that had the no longer made SR400 (a 4 hour drive away). While there, the store manager grilled me about the check I used, and as an afterthought while walking away thanked me for my business. Further, the salesman Mike Fouke informed me that my dirt bike had a 6 month warranty. During my first ride on the dirt bike the clutch plates were stuck, preventing the clutch from disengaging properly and causing the bike to snub while putting it into gear. After taking it to the dealership near me I was informed that the warranty on this particular bike was only 30 days. thankfully I got it in during the warranty period. This is something that should have been discovered by Nielsen Enterprises before letting the bike leave the lot. Finally, today 6/15/19 I was riding the SR400 around town when the speedometer and odometer stopped working, the cable connecting it to the front wheel disconnected. This isn't something that should have happened with only 200 miles on a brand new bike. I recommend people avoid this Yamaha dealership if possible. I will never go back.
They have everything!! Bought too many items here, but, they have the stuff you want. They have knowledgeable long time staff that actually use the stuff they sell so have first hand knowledge. They also have long time customers that keep providing feedback on gear so they can share those details as well. Quality at fair prices.
Bought my FJ-09 here a d that experience was great across the board.
Great selection of bikes and gear that's reasonably priced for the beginer level/budget constrainted rider.
These guys are great! Mike Fouke was very transparent throughout the entire process. Once I emailed him we talked he explained everything and really worked with me on my trade in. Cassi in the finance department and all her coworkers were amazing. It was one of the easiest purchases I ever made. Thank you guys for my 2021 Honda Gold wing.
The sales person that checked us out was good.
Good price on riding jacket.
Other staff member ignored us.
Just bought my spyder today! No pressure sales, very helpful and knowledgeable, com'on spring!!
I went to show my niece where I bought my Spyder. We checked out the slingshots outside and other Spyders. I don't know the gentleman's name who showed us around but he was really nice and didn't seem bothered with us taking up his time knowing full well we weren't purchasing anything today.
The service department did a great job for me. Staff was prompt and very courteous.
I find that online reviews tend toward the negative, so I wanted to add some positive perspective.
I got competing bids on the service, and they were $100 cheaper. Service was done quickly and completely, and they ordered parts for me for an update without having to ask.
Top notch service!!
Nice choice of motorcycles and merc. But wouldnt buy from here. I went with my girlfriend to find her a bike that fits her and maybe buy, but we were there for like 30min to a hour and not one associate asked if we needed help or anything in that matter the older lady behind the desk said nothing to us and all the associates were to busy smoking cigarettes and gabbing outside so they were definitely not busy. So
we took our business elsewhere. We will definitely not return.
RARA RARA !!!! SPECTACULAR !!!! NIELSEN ENTERPRISES IS SPECTACULAR !!!!
TALK TO MIKE HAMZIUK- GREAT Experience, SUPERIOR SERVICE.
I myself was in the car business selling for 5 years and I was prepared for typical dealership run around but I was proven wrong at Nielsen! Mike did a great job start to finish. Keeping me updated, answering all my questions, answering emails and calls. Made the process very easy, short, and simple. Everything was straight forward, no games, no hidden fees, no extras. I m very happy with my experience and will be sending friends and family! Happy with my purchase, Thank you Nielsen!
Purchased a 509 helmet, had a couple issues, Christie and Sarah from apparel reached out to me and completely resolved the problem. One of the best customer service experiences I have had. I will definitely use Nielsens again for purchases in the future.
Always friendly even were able to still get parts for my.93 bike
Kinda upset, bought new bike there in Nov. take it in for my first service, buy a different set of tires from their parts department. Have them do the first service and put the tires on. Now I can change oil etc.. But opted to take the bike in. I get charged $412 for 1st service and to put the tires on. I get told that it took 2 hours of time to take the tires off and then put on new ones and balance them. Really??! I could have just taken them off and brought em in! Really pissed... When I bought them there too! Gotta say not of on a good foot!
Update talked to the service manager and came to a resolution.
Feeling much better now.
Been coming here for 20 years now! Large showroom. Had some work done on a few different machines in the past. Prices are comparable. Service is hit or miss.
Friendly staff, great selection of accessories and bikes.
If I can give this place half a star I would. First when I went inside no one came up to me or ask me for help for like 25 mins then I ASK can someone help me with the bike I want. then they found some got the help right. Great way to start off right. Then I get the bike I want this FI red light flash and I bring it in light goes away they said oh nothing shows up on the Computer. so took it home went back with the bike few weeks later and boom light comes on again. I till dealer he seem like he didn't care guy name is mike and was like oh I see it now. You can turn it off next morning they can't find the problem. Plus my rim got bent thinking they can help out or can be cover cause I haven't had the bike for less then month and half and then they told me call my insurance to fix or pay out of pocket. Place sucks and dealers and Service guys suck. I will never do Business there again
I recently purchased a motorcycle from Mike Fouke. He made the whole process joyful and painless. We had an honest discussion on what he liked and didn't like about the bike. There was absolutely no pressure from him, he let the motorcycle and the price do the selling for him. An absolute gem of a dealership. Looking forward to continued business!!
I was looking for a new model, the kawasaki 400 ninja
I recently took the delivery of the Polaris Ranger EV. Very Happy with the unit itself. I can not say enough good things about the people working at Nielsen's. Howard was my point of sale - very knowledgeable and very professional. He was very pleasant and easy to deal with. I also made contact with Mike H in Howard's absence. At the service dept. I had few accessories installed, these guys are top notch Ron and the techs run a well oiled machine.
I was dealing with a small electrical matter and it was resolved to my satisfaction and beyond. These guys will absolutely go out of their way to make sure you are 100% satisfied. They are all STARS in my book! Thank you for your support Gents, looking forward to dealing with you again in the future.
M.
I wish I hadn't even called this place. I got nothing but the run-around. Never returned any of my phone calls, hidden fees after the fact, these guys are crooks.
Had what I needed when I needed it, Now that's what I like
lol the michigan city dealership is a total joke. Their service dept sucks
Do not waste your time with this shop. My brother was in the market for a new bike, either the Honda VT1300 or the Honda Fury, both of which were in their lots. Either way, this location is very close to where he lives, and more than likely he was going to make the sale there. My brother called ahead and had asked the employee who answered if he could potentially test drive the Fury, of which the worker immediately responded with "absolutely, just come on through!" So my brother shows up, talks to a worker who then gets another employee involved. My brother thinks they are potentially getting the Fury ready to go out. A few minutes go by, my brother is checking out other bikes, and is kind of being more so escorted around by this employee rather than being helped. Finally my brother asks "Do you think the bike is ready for that test drive?", to which the employee responds with "yeah I'm not letting that bike out of the showroom." My brother asks why not, after he had just confirmed over the phone that they would let him test drive the bike, and they told him that "its the only one on the lot" and that my brother was just looking for a joy ride. My brother explained his situation and that he was in fact looking for a new bike and was ready to buy one, but just needed to compare between the VT1300 and the Fury, of which again, both are in their lot, and he only needed to drive the Fury since he previously owned an older VT1300. The employee basically just told my brother they didn't want to put miles on their only Fury in the lot. Talk about a huge waste of time. I believe that specific employees name was Mark. Whatever the case is, don't waste your time with these guys. Apparently they can't stick to their promises.
I have been doing business with Nielsen since the early eighties with snowmobile, Jetski, motorcycle and ATV purchases. They have never failed to deliver an exceptional product or service. They have long time employees which says a lot for their business. I just picked up a new Kawasaki UTV and their price was as good as any others on-line. All of the sales staff is friendly, not pushy, will let you browse at your speed. The service department can't be beat. The parts guys all understand what you are trying to explain what/where that part is/goes. I will always return.
Everytime my husband and I go there we have the best customer service. We went in for a part. Ended up buying a new bike. Scott our sales guy was fantastic to work with. All and all a great environment. Thank you..
Neilsen has been great! There's a reason they've been in business so long. Real nice people to do business with. We will continue coming here for all our toys!
Lots of cool toys to check out. A person can never have too many toys, just not enough time.
In 2007 I purchased a 2007 Yamaha FX Cruiser HO from Jeff Nielsen at the Chicago Boat show. Not only was he able to beat everyone's price, but more important, was the follow up service. Because of his attention to detail, I purchased a second machine at the 2012 Chicago Boat Show. Again, and I assure you, I did my homework. I know I got the best deal on a 2012 Yamaha FX Cruiser SHO. I picked up my new Machine in March of that year, and as luck would have it, a few months later, there was a small problem with one of the latches on the rear door of the waverunner. I went into to Nielsen to see about ordering a replacement, and was pleasantly surprised that Jeff saw me, asked what I was doing there, and when I explained the problem he had one of his service guys take a new latch off a machine in the showroom and install same, free of charge, and related that he would order a new one for the showroom machine, so I would not be inconvenienced and have to come back.
You cannot put a price tag on a dealer who actually cares.
I recently was at the dealership again to purchase my winterizing parts and wanted to make people aware of what a quality business Nielsen is!
I will be attending the 2015 Chicago Boat Show and can assure you there is only one dealership I will be patronizing for my 2015 Yamaha FX Cruiser SHO!
Grace in the appearl shop helped me out greatly finding a pair of riding gloves letting me know that the gloves were black not navy blue. I would definitely go back and recommend neilsons to others.
During the stay at home order we ordered an oil extractor. The order was not processed for over three weeks, so I went to the store to buy one and I figured I would cancel the order. Came home to find out that my order was processed and being shipped. I tried calling and emailing them to cancel the order. They didn t answer my call or email. So when my order was delivered, I decided I would just return the one I bought at the store but they wanted to charge me a restocking fee of $30. The person I was dealing with was extremely rude to me. I purchased a wave runner from them and a lot of accessories too. I will never buy from them again.
Went there this am to get a duplicate key and chip coded for my Can Am Spyder. Service guys were very friendly. I was very happy with the service and the price.
To preface. I'm a younger person and look even younge, but as a point I ride a f6b (goldwing)and rock shoei helmets. This is the closest shop to me and my go to if I need anything basic aka filter wrench, klime gloves, ect. I wish when I walked in I was greated by anyone. Iv had good experiences in the motor clothes department but they also know me from doing business with them. I understand you can't say hello to every person but when people make eye contact and don't say a word it's a little weird. Wish i didn't feel feel prequalified cuz of my age when in the shop. That is all.
They are awesome I ordered a case from there and I got it with in two days they are really nice people and I also got a motorcycle from there.
The business attempted to make any bad experience right. I m happy with the follow up and appreciate the effort they put forth. It s the little things that count
just bought my spyder today! no pressure sales, very helpful and knowledgeable, com'on spring!!
Hands down the best dealership experience I have had, both cars and powersports. Have purchased 2 uses motorcycles from them and have had zero issues with the purchasing experience, and the bikes were in top notch shape. When they needed a little bit of service, the parts and mechanic shop was friendly and happy to help with any issues I had or if I needed something explained to me. Would definitely recommend this dealership over all others.
Parts department was great and very helpful. The mechanic lost some of my parts though
The good - Worked with Mike who helped my wife and I to select the right ATV for us. I would say the used Outlander we purchased was competitively priced and Mike helped us determine that we didn't need to buy a warranty since there were years left on the factory one. Mike in sales is knowledgeable did a good job in all ways.
The not so good - Brought my Outlander in for first scheduled service and asked service dept. to adjust the pre-load on the shocks. The rears were adjusted property but, the pre-load setting between the two front shocks was not set the same (not set at even pre-load setting). For me the biggest value in servicing with a dealer is saving my time and piece of mind that work was done properly. Also purchased a rear trunk out of stock while there and was asked if I wanted them to put it on, sure I said..it cost me 60 bucks. I guess my quandary now is wrench myself or pay and then double check the work
To the owner - Fair enough I am willing to try again. What is the best way from the customer perspective to help ensure that the service department meets expectations?
Great people. More Than fair pricing. Bought 2 skis and a trailer from them. I'll continue to be back!
Great staff members willing to help and make a sale
Just had to take this opportunity to put it out there !!! Nielson Enterprises is amazing to deal with , their friendly and professional as well as very knowledgeable staff made the whole experience of purchasing my water craft totally painfree and actually enjoyable . Their pricing was far below their competition , their in house financing the best "0" interest !!!!!
Their follow up amazing !! If your going to purchase a bike , boat or anything similar or accessories , I highly recommend you give them the opportunity to make you happy !!!
Thanks Nielson Family
For many great yrs of serving us , so well !!!
What a disorganized company. I'm trying to get my new wave runner delivered and nobody here seems to understand what that entails. Talked to each department and nobody can help me. They need a better customer service team!
I purchased a used 2007 GL1800 on August 4th. Price was fair and given a walk through as if it was new. There were some minor issues which is expected from a bike this old.
I came back a couple weeks later without an appointment and all but one issue was resolved. It is a non critical issue and was told to bring the bike back whenever I can leave it overnight.
I also purchased a Bell Helmet. The lever that operates the smoked shield failed, which is an issue Bell is aware of, so not a reflection of Nielsen's. There is a 5 year warranty and Nielsen's told me to bring it back for repair or replacement, no questions asked. They even looked to see if they had a replacement before I drove the 45 minute trip. They have a drawer of minor parts and helmet was fixed before my coffee got cold.
I have now dealt with Sales, Parts and Service. Everyone has been friendly and easy to work with. Nielsen Enterprises is first on the list for sales and service.
Only go if I really need to for parts. Sales staff not all that friendly, or inviting when you walk into the showroom area.
Great place. With the closing of motorider in town here i was forced to go elsewhere for a lid and some gloves for my boy. I found myself in Antioch, and I figured what the heck, lets stop in. Got everything I needed with excellent help. Really happy with the visit.
Excellent parts staff and extremely knowledgeable and awesome prices! They also have a HUGE inventory of parts so SHOP LOCAL and don't buy from the "A" company! Support your local businesses and you'll get a great deal and get what you want immediately without shipping
Great experience. Friendly staff and great service. Thumbs up all around
I Purchased a 2013 1100 Turbo Limited from Jeff at Nielson's and could not be happier with the experience! The sales staff and service department were very knowledgeable and friendly to deal with. I would recommend this dealership for any future purchases you might be in the market for.
Went to look at helmets and the 2 girls that were helping us acted like we putting them out. Will look elsewhere for a helmet. Got a call from the manager of clothing and rectified the situation. That is all I could ask for. I will go back. They are a big power Sports dealer with plenty of customer. They showed me they care about every customer that walks through there door.
I take my 05 Vulcan for service here. The Service Department is to the point. I enjoy walking the sales floor cause there is no sales person chasing you down for a deal. The sales personnel are nice. when you ask questions they are chill are knowledgeable of all brands and give no pressure to buy. The parts department are hilarious and give you advice on what is the best fit and bang for your buck. To the Sales Dept Thanks for letting me dream ! one day i will get the Vaquero!
Great experience, very helpful and very friendly staff. Thanks to all who helped us in our new purchase.
terrible service. went in with the intention of buying an fz10. didnt see any so i asked and everyone there pretty much shrugged me off. receptionist asked a sales guy if he could come help me and he said no im busy as he sat at his desk and did absolutely nothing. all in all, wont be returning here. 2 stars only because of the receptionist was kind
Our family has been purchasing PWC's and Polaris side by sides for years. We just took delivery of two new PWC's and the process was flawless. Pricing was extremely fair but most important was the level of service we receive every time we purchase from Nielsen. We highly recommend Nielsen Enterprises
100% TOP NOTCH SERVICE from start to finish.. I came in looking for a Slingshot.. Paid a little more then i was setting for .. but the service and atmosphere they provide to their customers is WELL worth it! Probably the best Dealer of any kind i have spent my time and money at!!! no matter how busy they were ( and they were busy! ) they still had time for me... Thanks Ted, Jerry, Mike, Ron, Gina, Jeff, Cassy and everyone else i didn't get to meet! you are all amazing!! BTW made it home without stalling ;)
Gave for wheeler back with parts off and no response for weeks. They don't try to work with you VERY unprofessional.
Looks like they don't need to sell. Attitude of atv salesman....Jeff?
Ps: To the owner, you can sale at least twice more however not with that staff.
Nielsens is a great place to look for your new toy. they are very helpful and willing to do what the can to make everything go a smoothly as possible.
A joke offered me half of what my vehicle is worth ! Drove to their competitor and they paid me double or a fair value for my trade! Good job guys way to be
Nielsons service is worth the drive. I live in Naperville and summer at Lake Carroll. My wife calls me crazy but I will trailer my ATV's and Sea-Doos two and a half hours each way for annual service. I know it is done right, on time and in budget.
