Big rooms and around there is a commercial center and restaurant, was good for what we needed... we found everything around, pharmacy, shops and good dinner.

Breakfast is overpriced for the offer (buffet ).

As well was pet friendly! And there is option to park a car.

Room was very large compared to similarly priced places in the US. Only real complaint would be the the toilet was leaking into the tank. This caused a constant sound of refilling which was annoying to listen to. I believe the is a free breakfast, but I never partook. No pool, spa or gym.

The staff here are excellent: extremely polite and helpful people. The building is truly ugly outside and is worse inside. Uncomfortable beds, tired decor calling this place a four star hotel is a scam no doubt. What a shame for NH chain, which is usually ok.

A hotel certainly, convenient because near the station but has not been the subject of any work. Result: tiny room, impossible to regulate the heating, bedding in the form of a hammock, a door communicating with the neighboring non insulated room which allows you to hear any conversation or snoring (a previous client has tried a fortune isolation with paper, see photo), a single glazed window allowing any outside noise and the top a night club on the ground floor (APART, see photo) which communicates with the hotel whose music is heard until the 6th floor until 3am. Despite my request for change, I had to stay 2 nights in this room that deserves no star rating. Only positive thing, the breakfast we hardly appreciate so much at night was short. To avoid absolutely, especially during business trip.

The staff was very nice and it is within walking distance of the train station. The hotel is definitely not 4 stars. Our room was in need of renovation. It smelled old and stale. One of the two beds was in a disastrous condition. The mattress was so saggy that we tried to stuff the "hole" in the middle with a blanket. It was noisy and barely warm even when the bar was not in use. There was no air conditioning and the small table fan we found in the closet was broken. We went prematurely after a 4 hour night, sweaty and tired. For 130, - the night too expensive.

In renovation, close to the station and the city center, pleasant welcome, clean beds and bathrooms. Despite everything, the condition of the carpets that are too old deters people from taking their shoes off in the bedrooms. Hotel at the foot of a parking lot where big cars gather in the evening so sometimes noisy.

Located in the very center of the city, you will for sure be appreciating the easy access to the historical town centre, the railway station, the shops, the restaurants and the bars. The services are also fantastic. All of the staff are professional and friendly. The bar that is immediately next to the lobby offers some very authentic cocktails.

The rooms are spacious, comfort and clean. Their 90's style is indeed a bit outdated from the perspective of 2020. But they are still well maintained and functioning as expected.

It would be a good plus if the power outlets are available next to the beds. I would also love to see more options in the minibar.

Overall speaking, the hotel is a reliable option for anyone visiting Fribourg.

They cut the water from 11 to 16 hours, they should have made sure that we had read the notice (we had made the entrance at 1 am). It would have been appreciated if they offered free water to the guests. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds. Wide variety of complimentary products, if you did not have the water problem, the score would be higher

Hotel quite noisy on the main square, but close to everything (shops, restaurants ...).
Be careful there is no free parking, it will cost 1hour per hour. The rooms are big but need to be refreshed.
On the other hand great breakfast. To book to a clientele absolutely wanting to enjoy the city center.

We arrived at the hotel and everything went pretty fast.. We got the 2cards but only one of them was working and we had to get them reactivated every single day.
Funny thing is that we could ask any staff member to reactivate the card and when It was a new person that never saw our faces before he did it without asking any question or ID. Totally unsafe.
We asked to get synthetic pillows by email prior our arrival and we didn't get them. We asked the following day in the morning at the reception and still nothing.. I finally went down to the reception with the pillow and I've been told to go get them myself in a different unoccupied room. He literally made a room access card gave it to me and told me to go...
What kind of service is this?
We forgot to mention that the room temperature was horrible (hotter inside than outside) but we got at least a micro fan (as big as an open hand) to blow the hot air around.
The bedding was horrible starting from the bed sheets that fit the bet width at it's perfect centimeter (don't even think about extra duvet to share) and finishing with a mattress that is as hard as rock you'll end up with back pain and you'll wake up every time your partner moves as the bed was 140cm width...
The hotel's room itself is old looking not as advertised on the website. It is an overpriced hotel (we've been to other places in Fribourg cheaper and who had a way better quality of bedding and services)
It's not even really clean as the head shower has to me. Never been washed (check out the pictures)
And by night you'll have to deal with all the party people in front of the hotel showing up with their car (the neighborhood is not making you feel safe by night)
To finish on a positive note I would say that the 2 good thing about this hotel (that I will never visit again) are :
The hair dryer is above standard expectations
The location.

Second stay at this hotel. The first 10 years ago. Nothing has changed and no maintenance. Judge yourself on the pictures. Stained curtain (blood, chocolate?); Stained carpet; torn sheet; baby cot full of wear holes and stains; dirty and dilapidated windows. And the pompom: juice of we know very well what in the holder of the toilet broom.
When booking I had chosen the late checkout option. Considering the disgust generated by the room we left early explaining why, no gesture of commercialism.
Worst :
- "we told you that the parking was 19.- for 24 hours"
- "no but I was aware"
- "ah OK because if we hadn't told you I wouldn't have counted it for you"

I was asked if everything went well, and in front of all the above, the answer was staggering: "every day I hear that, we say it but nothing changes"

As for the nightclub downstairs, we made good use of it all night although we were on the 9th floor!

The two stars are for the breakfast, impeccable.

Edit: One more star for the responsiveness following my comment and to greet the email received!

The hotel is ideal for those who need to position themselves in the center of the city, but urgently need a radical restructuring because despite the obvious efforts of the management to keep it in "life" now everything is rotten, broken, old ... I have read others comments on this hotel and the management was justified by the difficulty of undertaking these works in stages: here, however, the lack of maintenance of decades with stage works cannot be remedied and everything must be redone immediately.

Basically I had one of the nicest rooms on the 9th floor facing away from the street. Still, I didn't feel very well. The beds are very saggy, I have back pain after 2 nights. The rooms are also very noisy, I heard everything too clearly from the neighboring room, peeing in the toilet, as well as (I call that) "rioting" in the bathtub and much more, the exhaust air in the bathroom did not work, the faucet has wobbled, the hose on the shower head was not tight, so you had to jump for the droplets. The light in the bathroom to freshen up, totally wrong. All in all very in need of renovation, the prices are not justified in my opinion. The elevators took getting used to, they only worked with the room key card. A large group of Chinese did not understand the principle and stopped the entire company with it, these gentlemen then also became quite nasty and unfriendly, the very nice staff did not deserve that.

The hotel is in urgent need of renovation !!! ... The windows are broken, the bathroom is not so nice and the carpet floor a disaster. Really does not fit the Swiss situation.
Our room was on the 8th floor so the volume was still ok.
Super nice view.
Very nice staff.
So clean on the whole.
And the breakfast buffet was very good and very tasty.
The hotel is in a perfect location ... everywhere coffees, restaurants, shopping centers, banks, groceries shops.

The rooms are a bit dated and a little refurbishment would be appreciated but we still feel very good.

This is listed as a 4-star hotel, but by US standards would be 3-star. The interiors of the rooms are drab, with worn carpets and out-dated and spartan furniture. Avoid taking a room at the frontside of the hotel -- there is a raucous nightclub and a very lively bar situated outside, and the windows do not block the noise ... even with earplugs you are likely to have trouble sleeping. In my room there was no way to control the temperature. One day, when I returned, the housekeeper had left the window in my room open to cool it down ... it was -2C outside, so the room was more than a little chilly! On that note, the windows do open - unlike in most US hotels - so if you have young children, you need to be very careful as there are no window locks. It would be easy for a young child to climb into a ledge, open the window, and fall down the side of the building. (In other words, I would not leave young children alone in a room here.) On the plus side, as others have mentioned, the rooms are clean and the service is pretty good with very friendly employees. The buffet breakfast is very good, with a great selection of hot and cold foods. I've had better, but only at much more expensive hotels. Overall, the hotel is functional if a little cheerless and outdated, and OK if you can get a room overlooking the old town (away from the nightclub and bar.) For safety reasons, I would not recommend that families with young children stay here.
