The perfect place for wedding! It's so open and simple. Great huge doors on both sides of the building will let the you get all the tables, decorations, foods brought in quickly. Has a perfect place for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready, nice little room with natural light in it, fireplace too. Lighting is very good. The only thing about it that was was parking, not a lot of space for that. Also it was quite cold. If you have to spend some time just waiting for some things while being dressed in fancy dresses it'll be cold. But it was beautiful.

This is the best venue in Portland. The staff is helpful and friendly and really know what they are doing. When using this space you have a number of options for added outside space and configurations. The a/c makes a summer wedding possible and comfortable. I would recommend this space for weddings or other parties.

I Attended the DOPE Magazine 710 Party at Castaway PDX. It was an large venue with hall full of exhibitors and a great BBQ going on in the back. It was a large event with a big attendance. Very well organized and executed from this attendees perspective.

One of my favorite wedding venues, really good for receptions, I shoot a lot of video for Casperson Productions and we know that the video of the reception is gonna look great when people decide to have the reception for their wedding here. I have also seen some really beautiful ceremonies done here as well, really open, a lot of light comes in from the windows, over all a great feeling location that is very photogenic.

Good wedding venue space...slightly off the beaten path

Great venue for a wedding, bit parking can be an issue.

Very cool flex space. I ve been to a few events here and the most recent was a trade show type set up. With the outdoor text the space was really big! The staff was so speedy at set up and clean up during the event. Highly recommend!!

The place and location were ok, the catering was really bad so was the service.

Lovely space and good food. Same problem as most event spaces where staff takes my water every time I leave the table to dance.

Beautiful industrial wedding venue that comfortably fits 200+ guests.

We were here for a holiday party for work and this location was just great. They had a big open area where people could mingle and talk before sitting down for dinner. The employees who were there were all really nice and helpful if we needed it. What I really liked was that the venue had a lot of parking spots very close so we didn't have a 2 mile walk just to get to the place. I also really liked how big of a seating area was inside for us to choose where we wanted to sit and who we wanted to sit next to.

As a Portland wedding vendor, we've had the opportunity of working at Castaway countless times + we love every chance we get! Not only is at an awesome event space but the staff is always a joy to work with - we love both Paige + Emily! They're so professional + kind every time. Would always happily recommend!

Very nice venue for events. Central location. Parking is tricky depending on day/time, but there are several single-level lots nearby.

I can't really give high stars as I was just a guest at this place. I didn't deal with the staff that set up the party, only the catering staff so I don't know how the party was set up or how they are to work with. They seemed to work with the bride and groom just fine. It was nice enough, lots of space for guest, clean restrooms, and nice decor. The parking is non-existent so make sure to plan for carpooling or being dropped off. There is a lip over the entrance that almost everyone tripped on because there was no warning. Otherwise, fine place. Any other issues were probably the other businesses that were hired. I believe this is just strictly a place you can rent.

Overpriced drinks and a superbly boring venue with trash dj's.

Great wedding venue. Staff was very helpful. Easy load in. Ample parking. Great acoustics. So close to down town and many hotels nearby. Very rustic and warehouse looking with tons of sophistication. It s like a blank canvas for designers.

Nice event place. Great for a wedding reception or a group function.

These folks really understand events. If you haven't been to their venue yet, you should. There's a pay to park lot to the east if you cannot find street parking.

Great venue for large events, very customizable, great service!

An extremely cute space for large events. Went to my friend's wedding here. Tucked away in NW Portland, it provides modern esthetic and engaging atmosphere for an event.

Event space was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but the back patio space made up for it. Overall, clean, open concept, and seemed well taken care of.

We booked Castaway while living abroad and Emily did a fantastic job painting a picture for us over FaceTime.

Our experience was everything you would want from a venue; organized, attention to detail, and great communication. We had our rehearsal dinner at Blockhouse and would highly recommend doing the same. Being able to work with Emily on both spaces made this incredibly easy and we wouldn't change one thing!

I volunteer for the street trust event called the Alice awards here each year. It is spacious, close in town, has multiple rooms, a nice parking lot, and it is popular for holding events.

It made a great wedding venue and the food was very. Very good!

Very Portland, if Portland can be an adjective. I liked how modern the room was and view of City and Bridge. The wedding was lovely and we had a good time .

This is a nice event space. It is large, open, and has a rustic industrial vibe with open ceilings and exposed wood beams. They host many types of events here and have options for size needed.

I had my wedding here. The venue it self is gorgeous with an industrial aesthetic that is unique and stunning. The space lends itself well to professional lighting if that is something your interested in. The staff and coordinator were excellent and provided great customer service. Many of my guests came from out of town and I heard endless compliments on the venue.

Was here for a Corks and Forks fundraiser or something along those lines and thought the space was gorgeous!

Beautiful, wide-open venue that you could do anything you wanted with. Tall windows make for a great ambiance, even in bad weather. It is kind of in the middle of nowhere, however, and there are relatively frequent trains blowing their horns.

Great venue, was here for Nike Sneakerball. Parking is not too difficult either!

Came here for an Adidas event. They had food trucks in the back and plenty of space on the inside for art exhibits.

Castaway was the first venue we toured when looking for wedding venues, and it was love at first sight. We loved the openness and the ability to make the space our own and the large windows that let in lots of natural light. The back patio was the cherry on top as we were looking for an indoor/outdoor venue.

We worked with Paige as we were planning our wedding, and she made wedding planning easy for us. At our first meeting, she was able to whip up a floor plan as we were talking and even altered it several times for us leading up to the wedding. She was such a pleasure and joy to work with and made the day seamless.

The best part of Castaway - the outdoor space was the perfect place to surprise our guests with the Wedding Llamas! The blue wall is the perfect backdrop and we couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding at Castaway.

Nice venue. I was here for a fundraiser for PYB. They did a nice job with it.

Was promised a hold for a school prom. Travelled more than an hour to view space, and was told another client just rented. Highly unprofessional.

The venue was beautiful for a work party. My only complaint was how HOT it was. It did not feel like there was any air flow or AC at all.

Things I love about Castaway Portland: Extremely large, flexible, customizable space; nice venue managers who earnestly want to work with event planners as partners and are dedicated to continually improving their space; indoor and outdoor options; choices for catering; easy parking; many included amenities such as tables, chairs, globe lighting, projector and screen, full kitchen, and HVAC. If you are looking for flexible and customizable space for a group of anywhere from 80-300 this is one of Portland's best options.

04/25/16: Went here for a private event. Pretty spacious and a nice place.

We had our wedding here in May and can't say enough good things about the space and our experience with the team! Our main contact was Paige and she was a dream to work with - kind, communicative, professional, and totally helpful in areas where we had no idea what to do. We had such a great experience and would definitely recommend them.

Love this modern, city wedding venue! As a wedding photographer, I always love shooting at this location - it has a variety of unique settings and creative urban backdrops!
