I much enjoyed my stay at Hotel Yak and Yeti. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent and was willing to provide great service under any circumstance. Only 1 criticism is that i wish i could have cooled the room temperature a few more degree. All in All in enjoyed my stay and will stay again on my next visit to Kathmandu.

This was my second stay at the Yak and Yeti. I chose to return because I was so pleased after my first stay. It is a charming hotel with good to excellent service in a serene setting. Because I travel for business, it is especially helpful to return to my room after a long day of meetings in the busy city to a quiet atmosphere where the staff is helpful and attentive. I chose to book a club room on the fourth floor with access to the lovely lounge. This room type also includes breakfast (I was able to choose to have it served in my room or the lounge if I did not want to eat in the dining room, a nice benefit especially for someone traveling alone), and two free laundry items. The room was well appointed, fruit and chocolates delivered for a delicious snack. Room service was efficient and polite, and housekeeping did an excellent job of preparing my room each day.
Although some of the staff seem a little reserved with rather unsmiling demeanors, most stood out as accommodating. I especially want to mention the gentleman who oversaw the fourth floor lounge, I hope I his name close to correct, Bhaktar. He is one of the reasons I wanted to return to the Yak and Yeti a second time. He was very friendly and tended to every detail. Although I know it is his job to do so, he makes the guests feel very welcome and very pampered. I was amazed that he remembered me after many months. Even though he was on duty in the evenings, he arranged for me to have an exceptionally well appointed breakfast in the lounge on the one day I was able to take time for breakfast. He is a valuable employee. I also want to mention the young woman at the front desk whose name I think was Sharmilla. She, too, was polite and personable, trying hard to meet all of my needs. When I arrived, I had a slight glitch with my room, and although she was confused about what I was asking, she stuck with me until we had it figured out. She was also helpful in arranging my travel needs when leaving.
The Yak and Yeti is close to many of my business meetings so I am able to walk, and it seems to be a very safe place. The area is good for shopping and restauarants, very close to Narayanhiti, the royal palace that is now a museum. It is easy to catch a cab to Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath, two very impressive and important temples for pilgrimages in Hindu and Buddhist faiths. I would, without question, choose the Yak and Yeti for my next trip to Nepal, and would recommend it to anyone traveling there.

Played tennis here twice and won money at the casino. The courts are red clay and pretty basic. Coming from Hawaii, it was such a nice treat to play the red clay. Don't expect the courts to be prestine, but for a good hit/work out - they were awesome!!! Cost was about $10 for the court.

Such a comfortable, clean, and accommodating hotel. The rooms are comfortable and come with slippers, a shaving kit, toothbrushes, creams, etc. They give you two large bottles of water everyday and there are a variety of channels from Hollywood to Bollywood.
Reception is very kind and the breakfast selection and variety suited everyone's needs. The gym is a little small but comes with a trainer from 9-4 so there is guidance for anyone who needs it.
I had a great experience and would stay again.

Its a good property. I particularly liked the garden scaping which is beautifully done. You will love it. The interiors are well crafted with wooden carvings. Flip side - for single person two separate single beds given rather than one double bed. The room does not have chain lock, poor guest is at the mercy of staff who all have keys. Think of female guest insecurity?

The Yak & Yeti is a trusted hotel when visiting Kathmandu, which we have done many times. The service is quite good, as is the food and atmosphere. It is centrally located, so easy to walk places in KTM. We will stay there on our next visit.

One of the oldest five stars in Kathmandu. Has everything a traveler needs. Nice hospitality and cordial welcome. The food at breakfast is a bit monotonous, but very good quality and quantity. Outstanding is the garden and the walking track. Both the poila for kids and elders are maintained. There is a fish pond too, having fishes, ducks and geese. Many variety of birds can be seen in the garden. Overall a nice experience.

Nice five star hotel with good hospitality.I went there for a program and the hall was called Regam hall which was very organized platform to host the program. The foods are nice too. So as a five star hotel it is too costly but very nice food and nice rooms too with different facility.

I can't really say this is a 5 star place at all... it should be if you look at the building itself, but that's about it. Needs a huge amount of money spending on it and on the staff.
Most worryingly I watched a cleaner in the foyer toilets wipe the toilet bowls, followed by the wash basins, and finally the taps and sides all with the same cloth in one go I wouldn't expect this from a 1 Star hotel let alone a 5 star.
Maybe this explains the worst food poisoning of my life i had following my stay.
The rooms that our party stayed in were in serious need of updating and deep cleaning. (See my photos of the lamp shade, bath, toilet and taps) a previous occupants toe nail clippings were still all over the floor amongst some very dubious stains in the carpet around the bed and on the bed cover.
The bed linen also appeared to not have been changed after the previous guests stay with an unpleasant odour on the pillow.
Random items of clothing also went missing from the parties rooms as has been mentioned in previous guests reviews. Odd items you wouldn't necessarily notice immediately such as belts, shorts and t shirts.
Breakfast was poor, bizarre things happening like placing butter next to hot items.... so the butter turns to liquid (see photos).... just odd or no management or common sense
There are other things but I've lost interest in writing any more. Hopefully you get the idea

I am sorry, i couldn't reply back anywhere else, so i am posting it here. And also apologize for very short review.
I was present there for the symposium held at Regal Ballroom, and i admire the ambience and the royal structure of the hotel. And the posh feeling is just WoW. I appreciate the whole management for their effort. Regardless of all these, the lunch served was also fantastic, but the arrangements like the bins for the used dishes, proper seating could have been improved. Plus, i even felt the dishes lacking hygiene, the food served in the garden was uncovered, the flies were all over the salad .
No offense, but expected something more hygienic from a hotel with such a great reputation.
