Sold tickets for $30 and still had a line to get in, in the freezing cold. Thats a true travesty if I've ever seen one. Do not come here for New Years Eve

This is my favorite place to go in Ann Arbor on a Monday night. They play industrial and drum'n'bass on Mondays and there is a primarily goth/punk/queer crowd. Great drink specials, and you should get a fish bowl at least once.

High class service at a high class venue. Tons of options on many different nights to suit your tastes. From college night to hosting some of the worlds biggest and hottest DJ's, Necto definitely never ceases to impress me. I've gone to many many venues and have had varying experiences at all of them, but Necto ALWAYS consistently delivers to meet or even exceed my expectations. The atmosphere is always intimate and inviting; the music is always on point with a sound system that is one of the loudest I've heard (I've even seen them bring in MORE speakers for big shows which truly makes it an amazing experience in such a close knit venue); the bar staff can pour all types of drinks and they even sell a good variety of micro brew beers! Bouncers control the crowd and are very quick to put out any fires that may come up, but I've found this to be quite rare. Overall, I'd have to rate Necto as one of Metro Detroit's BEST Nightclubs to attend. I always make it a point to stop in when I'm in town.

Took a break from Necto and now just started going back for pride night to see my favorite drag queens. I go right as doors open so the line isn't long at the door and bar. Bar service was awful though. It took forever to cash out. Do not open a tab here.

(Original post 2014) I will never go here again. The security guards took advantage of their positions and harmed my friend. We were just trying to get up the busy stairs and one of the men thew their arm out in front of me. My friend took his arm and placed it between me and security guard. The guard threw him against the wall and pinned him to it. My friend and I were not harming anyone and they took advantage of us. They took my friend and held him in a defensive hug position. They were telling us to leave but we couldn't since they were not letting us go. I told them to back off and that we were leaving. They weren't listening and didn't let us go until they threw us out the door. It was completely wrong of them to do that when we agreed to leave in the first place.

I enjoy the music and dance floors. However, the bouncers were rude and presumptuous. They tried kicking my boyfriend out because he handed me my ChapStick on the dance floor, ( I'm guessing they assumed it was drugs?) But regardless, they did not handle it properly. Also, I can't stand that they won't give you water! I had to fill up my cup in the bathroom because the bar refused to serve me a cup of water when I was on the verge of dehydration. Definitely needs improvement!

It's Necto. Pricey drinks, adequate music, a bit low-brow but hey, it's what downtown has when you're looking to get somewhere with moderate cover and clientele. Make sure to look up the theme of the night online before you go out though - of note, Monday is more heavy and hardcore and bass-driven music, Thursday and Saturday are top 40s, and Friday is LGBTQXYZ+ night, but that's at the time of this review, it definitely changes occasionally.

Racially discriminatory bouncers. Don't support this place.

Amazing atmosphere, great music and friendly bartenders

I'm not really crazy about this place. It's better than the rest of the college nightclubs (hence the two star rating), but that's a really low bar. The music playlist could be way better and I often get bored because of that. It's more for college students anyways, although there are different themes each night.

Be sure to check the theme of the night, or be ready for some adventure

The worst club in Ann Abor, they kicked me out just because I was a foreigner.

I enjoy the club. The staff could be a lot nicer. Nothing like paying to be treated like an invader.

This club was by far the worst I have ever been too!!!!!!! If you want to have a good time I would visit any other place in Ann Arbor but this one. I don't know where to start from the horrible bouncers that harass people as they walk by, to paying for a so called "VIP" booth to find out half our party couldn't get in. You ask why they couldn't get in? I will tell you it starts with the bouncers that turn away people for wearing collard shirts and khaki shorts which was one excuse of many....... They will discriminate against anyone and wont think twice about turning down money... They must be a top notch establishment one might try to say!!! no, not really at all... Everything in that night club was far from being top notch.. fortunately there are many other options that actually are top notch where everyone can have a good time but can only be accomplished at any place but this one.

Wouldn't let me in because I was wearing pants with a drawstring. I was going to a private event, which I had already paid for AND had a ticket for. This is Ann Arbor, Michigan. What is this pseudo-fancy posturing? Necto has never been a fancy club, and I just wanted to dance. Shocked and disappointed. Don't waste your time.

I absolutely love this place. I always make an effort to remember the great service they offer...and the DJ is absolute fire. Love DJSkoobe! The vibe is all together great. Wish I could visit more.

I just want to give a warning out to any females going to this club! They do not care about your well being. A man harassed me and put his fingers inside of me, my mom being with me because it was my bachlorette party witnessed this action and throat punched the guy who did it. So instead of calling the cops, the bouncers told my mom they were going to press charges against her unless we leave the nightclub. SERIOUSLY!! They made us all leave, including the guy who did it. The only protection we got, was 1 bouncer who walked us back to our bus. DO NOT GO HERE!

I went to the bartender and asked for a glass of ice water towards the end of the night. She told me they only had bottled water and that it was $2, no problem I handed her my card because I had no cash. She then told me it was a ten dollar minimum. I m not paying $8 for a bottle of WATER. Its really irresponsible for a business that serves alcohol to make it so difficult for your customers to get water. On top of that the bartender was RUDE. No wonder why Necto hasn t been the number one club in Ann Arbor for years.

Terrible! I was only there about 1.5 hours and someone put drugs in my drink:( The so- called staff treated me as if I was drunk person or someone who was problematic, instead of someone who was very ill and passing out. I almost had to take an ambulance out of this place. No concern for a paying customer at all. I won't ever be back.

It has a descent atmosphere for a club and the music depends on the DJ that day

Only real night club in Ann Arbor. Always busy Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Love the outdoor patio. Always a fun party.

Pride Fridays are where it's at. Good people, good drinks, no drama. Bouncers are always watching out for B.S. and don't tolerate crap, resulting in a fun experience without worrying about safety.

Make sure to go to NYPD pizza afterwards!

I went lastnight! PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD WHEN YOUR AT THE BAR . They say you have to have a $10 minimum when using it and they encourage you to open a tab. My drinks came to
$12.34 and that s what I signed for on the receipt when I closed my tab... I came a total of three different times for drinks before I closed my tab! And I knew how much my tab was before I told him to close it out! The next day I check my bank account and He charged me $25.00!!! That s $12.66 more than what my receipt said when I signed it.! This has happened to a friend of mine when she used her card the last time I came on my birthday! The bartenders should not be scamming people like this! They do this to people like that because they think people are too drunk enough to notice! Which I think is SORRY! Do better Necto!

Friendly staff and clean environment. Felt safe and welcomed.

#1 Nightclub in Ann Arbor hands down. Bar staff is great, Djs are good, and I love that I can take a break from dancing and hit the patio for some fresh air and a smoke. Always a good vibes and a good time.

Dance Club - This club has been here for ages and it is (almost) a staple of the city. It gets crowded easily, but it offers a pleasant atmosphere and pretty good music (there is a theme for everyone).

Trash place. They added a larger tip than I had given them under my credit card. Will not go here again.

I had came here Saturday night 9/28/19 with a few girls and we overall had a pretty good time. However, we were disappointed at the way the first bartender handle a situation on the drink menu. We were handed a drink menu and decided on a fish bowl and he told us it was $15 and we pointed in the book and said no the book says $13 he continued on to tell us that they were going to be getting new menus and that it was $15. That is false advertising. Price changing should not be in until new menus are in. Common law fraud. You could be sued for that. In the future I'd suggest that your employees do not argue with your customers.

Not the best atmosphere, but decent music. Use to like it well enough in my younger years.

Great nightclub with multiple floors. Always a blast! I've seen some great DJs here - Chainsmokers, Matoma, Cookie Monsta & Doctor P, and many more (we do a lot of open-bar events at Necto through the Ross School of Business as full-time students).

Even more important than that? One night I lost my wallet there and one of the owners (Nick) was very kind and prompt in coordinating a time for me to pick it up, everything intact. Lot of respect for this place after that - it is not only just another fun club with great shows, but a respectable and caring staff/ownership - that makes all the difference in customer satisfaction and repeat business!

Look forward to coming back sooner than later.

The bouncer with the dreads is very problematic and should be fired immediately.

Had my drink taken from me, and my wrist band because I asked a friend to hold my drink. On top of that a man shoved his face in my chest and no on did anything after I reported it. If you are going to kick me out for 'giving a drink to a minor' you need to kick out the guy why sexually assaulted me. This place is discriminatory. Never going again.

They add extra drinks onto my bill which I had to pay for if you go there watch your bill

The dj is AWFUL. Like horrible. Security and staff do not care at all about the young women there. I'm 19 and was approached by a 40 year old man who would not take no for answer. When I went to the security for help he ignored me. This will definitely be a one time thing

Great night club, saturdays are bomb, 18+ student friendly. Definitely a must go in Ann Arbor

This place is truly awesome. My wife and I go here almost every Saturday. We always get the VIP section when we go for just us two and it s great! Alexis is the absolute best, and always makes sure to check on us and refill our drinks, and make sure we are taken care of in the VIP section. Always request her, because her personality and customer service is spot on. Nick is who we always communicate when we want to reserve the VIP booth. He is incredibly professional and friendly and his communication is wonderful. He always greets us when we are there and makes sure to take care of us whenever we need it. Nick is one of the reasons why I recommend this place so highly, because he takes care of so many different aspects of the club and still makes sure to give you that personal care. Nick and Alexis are the stand-outs, but the rest of the staff do a great job making sure everything goes smoothly and that the atmosphere stays fun for the club environment. There s enough security to make sure that nothing goes wrong, but it does not get in the way of the club fun at all. I would suggest getting the VIP when you can, because you get your own private seating area and the bottle service and extras and the entire experience is definitely worth the pay. The club and facilities are always very clean, and i would highly recommend this Necto for a great time.

One of the few places where I've met cosplayers and steampunks. I've always tipped the downstairs bartender well and never had a problem with him or any other staff. If people fall on the dancefloor, they don't stay down long because others will quickly help them up. I exclusively go on Monday nights (Industrial), so I can't speak for any other theme night. I love the various theme nights like Goth Prom and Halfway to Halloween.

A nice nightclub... before the creeps get there. As a student, I came here a good number of times and mostly enjoyed myself. Prices aren't bad, especially if you can get free cover. There are a good variety of nooks are crannies in the club to hang out with friends or listen to different types of music. The theme nights are great. However, if you are on the main dance floor (especially) there are guys who don't respect boundaries and will grope women and not let them go. As a result of this, despite my straight orientation, I ended up coming only on gay night.

Great place to head to if you re looking for a fun night in Ann Arbor. The staff, bartenders and owner are great people and they never disappoint. I ve been coming here for years and always have a great time!

Necto really feels like a big NYC club...even though you're in Ann Arbor. The place is always clean, the bartenders are always professional and nice. They get some great DJ's and Drag Queens to perform. It's just an impressive, well run club. If you want a guranteed good time, definitely check out Necto!

Fun place for the occasional visit. Different nights with different themes to fit whatever suits you best.

Some of the best DJ s in the area! Nectarine (Necto) is an absolutely iconic venue! The real nightclub of ANN ARBOR. Great shows and the staff is very well trained.

Factory Monday night is a great time. Not so much other nights but how fun Monday is makes it worth the drive.

Tried rating this place fairly. I've only been here a couple hand full of times and before i was 21. Haven't been there since so no idea of the place now. I always attended the industrial nights with my friends from high school years back. They other nights wasn't really my crowd nor is night clubs really my "Scene". Never had a bad time just not my type of place. I prefer more a sit down and hang type of place.

Three saturdays in a row, they find one reason, every time, to not let me take my friends in. You'd think me driving 30-40+ min or money on an uber to come enjoy a night with my friends would be possible. Haven't even gotten in yet to see if its nice or not. They wouldn't even look at my I.D.

I want it to be noted that they turned away a Veteran wearing US Navy attire because HE WAS WEARING US NAVY ATTIRE.

Necto is incredible. It has adapted incredibly to every wild theme that my MBA class could come up with and it has some of the best staff in Ann Arbor. Also, I lost my keys in October and literally, the manager Scot held on to them until I returned in freaking April. I love this spot. I've never gone and not had a good time. I would definitely recommend it if you are visiting Ann Arbor.

Those black bouncers are RACISTS, only go if you're black,otherwise you wouldn't be treated the same way

Decent place to get cheap drinks and dance. Their outdoor courtyard is nice for some fresh air in between songs. Nothing special though, crowd can be rowdy at times and the dance floors can get packed! Definitely attracts a younger crowd.

This place is disgusting. Full of underage people drinking. When I say underage I mean like 15-16 year olds. And creepy ass 50 year old men buying drinks for them. I am in my mid 20's and I felt too old being there. If you have had any sort of moral upbringing you wouldn't enter this place ever. I was appalled by what I saw.

I love the drag shows on pride night and the drinks are good. 3 stars because the bouncers are rude and seem to have zero knowledge on de-escalating an issue.

Great Drag Shows on Fridays. Wouldn't go any other night though. They have amazing guests come through all the time. Can't wait to see who's coming next.
