Nautilus Diner Restaurant Review

Good food, good atmosphere, good service, too expensive!

I've been coming to this diner for years. Today I had such a terrible experience that I will probably never go back again. The waitress gave me a check with charges for juice and a cup of coffee, which I never ordered. She did correct this. It still seemed like a really high bill so I checked the menu to see if it was correct and was blown away that they were charging so much for 4 pieces of bacon.... $1 a slice for very small pieces of bacon. When I went to pay I said something to the foreign woman with short blonde hair who was ringing me up because I was so shocked at the price. She was so incredibly rude. She said in a dismissive way to me that what they charge is the standard price around here and that I could go to the other restaurants in the area and they charge the same. I work in a customer service job and I would never in a million years have spoken to a customer that way. I live very close to this diner but after this experience, I will drive a little further and go to the Towson diner instead.

Quick service. Food always cooked correctly. Extensive menu. In my opinion, their breakfast options are the best.

Use to better than it is now. Food quality has deteriorated.

Clean & a menu with variety - everything looked good! The French Toast was amazing, burgers were too. French fries were done perfectly. They have a bar & a bakery. We will totally stop there again

We decided to stop here after all day travelling. We hadn't eaten dinner and at 1 am needed to eat. Service was great. Waitress was very nice. Overall food was decent. My husband got pancakes and liked them. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy. Definitely not the best I've ever had. If you know good biscuits and gravy don't order this. They are remodeling and the paint fumes were pretty bad. They probably should have taken the time to close for reno work and reopen fresh.

A little expensive but the food and service was good. Really nice architecture and finishes. Minus a for high Prices.

Looks very nice inside like its new. They have a big selection for breakfast lunch or dinner. I had The French toast and it was good.

I've been here multiple times, and every time the service is VERY VERY poor. The most recent visit a friend and I went for breakfast at around 6am before work. The waitress walked up to us to take our order while chewying on a bagel or roll. The food was good up until we both found a hair in the eggs and scrapple. It was a long black hair! YUCK! We didn't notice this until we were almost done eating! I was so discusted I just wanted to leave. I told the waitress and she didn't seem to care at all, like this is a normal occurance. The waitress handed us the check as soon as she brought out the food, and didn't ask if we needed refils or anything else. When I asked for a coffee to go, she made it seem like it was the biggest incoinvence ever, she said she hated people like us. Since there was no one else in the diner she had to be talking about us. i regret giving her a tip!! THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND THE FOOD EVEN WORSE!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!

We stopped here on a trip to Lancaster, Pa., in July. I had the Fajita Wrap, and it was just plain fabulous. My only regret was that I had no room left for one of the desserts from their dessert case. Next trip, I'm going straight for dessert.

Went to this diner today York Road. The food was not that good. It was ok, everything looked overcooked. A bit pricey and not enough food on the plate.

The food wasn't very good and it was ear-splittingly loud. The desserts look delicious. Don't be fooled, they're stale and tasteless: you can get better at a grocery store.

Our waitress had the best idea to put the hot toast on the butter pats to melt them!!!

The Nautilus is your stereotypical American Diner. It is very clean and has a large menu with fairly reasonable prices. Its breakfast foods and dessert are great (they have some of the best Eggs Benedict around). Sadly, while its lunch and dinner are ok, they tend to be very bland and unremarkable. If you're in the market for early morning hang over food or late night dessert, Nautilus is great, for all else go almost anywhere else.

Very good food, great service, fast....did not have to wait a long time between ordering and having the food come out.

Solid burger, potato skins, and waffle fries. The Moscow Mule was refreshing.

It was okay, but the butters are very, very small, so you have to use a lot. Could also use more handicap parking.

I ordered the meatloaf and it was awful - you would think a diner could do meatloaf but not the case. I should have known better out of all the diners in the area - this one is my least favorite. Lessoned learned not going back!

The diner is very spaceous and clean. The food is excellent. A very big selection of food and the portions are large . It's very much worth your money.

Food is sub par. Way too much on the menu to cook everything properly. The poorly painted murals are distracting and the service is poor. I've been here three times now and nothing I've had has been better than "meh." The vegetable option, for example, was nothing more than bagged mixed veggie mix that can be bought at any grocery store. They need to focus on doing a small number of dishes extremely well instead of hundreds of dishes poorly.

Clean, classic diner. Breakfast was a bit bland so if you're of the older variety it's perfect for after church.

Food prices are high. Coffee is fair. Recently changed coffee brands, renovated and increased prices.

Absolutely love the sweet potato fries here. Food is always great and plentiful. Stop here whenever we are in the area

Great food, great people, and a covid menu that still takes 30 minutes to read all the items. Love the choices that can satisfy just about anyone.

I normally go on the weekends and it pretty crowded but there is no wait and the service and food are pretty decent, I get the breakfast all the time haven't tried anything else but it is a Diner with pretty good food.

Food was okay. Service was only fair. WAY to close with regard to tables. Nowhere near enough room for the tables. Constantly being bumped by staff and other customers. Very noisy. I will not be returning. Too bad, it used to be better.

I am really surprised at the bad reviews here. We are there last year, and were looking forward to going back this trip. It was even better than last time. Good enough that after meeting a group of friends for dinner at another restaurant, we skipped dessert at that restaurant in order to go back a second time today just to get dessert there. It was great. So far this trip we had dinner, breakfast, and tonight's dessert. All were delicious.

Friendly staff with a nice diner atmosphere. The food isn't amazing but it's about the quality you'd expect.

Good local diner. Same family that owns the Nautilus Diner in Massapequa NY.

We dipped in after 10pm on a Monday evening because nothing else is open. Service was friendly and fast. From seating to eating...maybe 12 minutes. I'll be back!

I used to love this diner, but over the years it's become more mediocre. The prices are way too high for the average food.

Often eat there on week ends. The place is nice. I find the prices are a little costly. But all in all a decent place to eat.

Excellent breakfast! Feta and spinach omelet cooked exactly as requested without butter. Fresh grapefruit half. The potato s were crisp and the hash excellent. Waiter was polite and efficient, and the food delivered quickly. Great atmosphere and great menu options! Will definitely come back.

Every time we go the staff is welcoming, the food is good, and the atmosphere is casual and fun.
