For a recruiter role, my experience was very poor....
For a recruiter role, my experience was very poor. We were expected to do 120 calls a day to various skilled nursing facilities and that was your chance of success. Every other place that I have interviewed at and my current employer has looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned my day to day and they were not surprised why turnover is high and why I was let go. They honestly do not set you up for success and blame you for your failure. I make nearly double at my current role for the same amount of work they expected us to do. Working late a lot of nights and having little work/life balance is not worth being employed here.
I didn t realize until I left how unprofessional and trashy a lot of these account managers and recruiters were. The account manager I had in particular, was the most miserable and grumpy guy I have ever worked with. He was constantly condescending and hardly did any training for me to be successful. He really did suck the energy away from our team. (If a current employee reads this, you know exactly who I am referring to.)
I will say if anything positive came out of this experience, it did greatly improve my public speaking skills and got me interested in other recruiting opportunities. I feel very comfortable talking on the phone now and I m doing a great job at my current role.
*Out of curiosity, I drove by the office and saw three large garbage compactors outside of the entrance so they may be closing down or laid off a good amount of people. Most of the recruiters I worked with left just a few months after I did. I saw the writing on the wall and they did too. I m sure there are not going to be a lot of traveling nurses or therapists during COVID-19. Their health insurance is super expensive and housing is too. Imagine having a lot your per-diem money going to these things. Kind of takes away the whole point of traveling to begin with. If you are a therapist or nurse and are thinking of traveling, go elsewhere. I suggest Cross Country, Jackson or Med Travelers. We used their websites for reference. Go figure.
