The National Library is a wonderful place to spend days on. What I like so much about the library is that it almost feels like walking into a museum that takes care of Norwegian cultural history for the past hundred years. Because it's not just books here, but you can read newspapers, magazines and journals digitally here. But most of all, the Norwegian film history has been made available at the National Library. There are only a few handful of Norwegian films available physically or online. But at the National Library you can see most. In addition, the building is exceptionally beautiful.
I was encouraged to enter it one day when I was walking through Oslo and I discovered it. The staff is most pleasant, you can tour the entire building inside, or visit the temporary exhibitions, and also freely use the internet room.
Great institution with talented and pleasant staff. Holds interesting lectures.
very good place to study. I like the place and it is many nice people at the libary. It is good service there to.
Here it is not possible to get something printed and the energy is gray
The national library is a treasure trove of knowledge and culture. Structurally well done and full of books for the study of all subjects, especially the humanities. The library is very suitable for studying, in fact, More
Quietest reading room in town? Here I study a lot. Only minus is that I can't bring coffee into the desk.
Unbelievable. 5* advanced technologically equipped. A perfect place to study or relax
Impeccable service, silence and maximum hygiene make this library a fantastic place!
The librarians are ignorant and they are not willing to give some help or information at all. I talked to a person at entrance information desk then he sendt me to other two librarians. They are really a disaster. When you ask them for information what they're giving you is 100% irrelevant and they did willingly to misdirect you. They don't have any respect. May be they didn't like working at summer. I don't know, but they are really disasters.
Ideal for spending time reading or internet surfing inside. Better still, there s a cafe inside where you could have a sip of coffee or snack. Awesome, serene and tranquil experience here.
The formal partition of the library from the University of Oslo Library was in 1999.

Great place to sit in peace and work. Lots of jobs and newspapers from all over the country freely available.
The internet (Nasjonalbiblioteket) stopped in the middle of my work.
The staff/a woman was so aggressive with telling me what to do. Calm down!
It has crazy regulation that if you want to go to the reading sal you need to put everything in a closet and then use a plastic bag to put your laptop or books in it so you can go in! is that environmental? it that convenient? where is the logic?!
Lovely place for most literary activities. Incredibly cool atmosphere in great rooms. Also a nice little bookstore with lots of curios and a cafe with a sideboard.
The National Library is just a fantastic place to be. They have managed to preserve the old, original style with a much more user friendly and relaxed environment. Very good! Gone are the strict guards, who didn't let anyone in without leaving all the items and outer clothing in a locked box in the vestibule. Thanks and price, it was also time!
Best place to sit and read in town. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere.
Bigger than it looks. Great place to get some studying done, if you keep in mind that it might be hard for you to find an outlet. Your best chance in the lower floor. But very quiet and reasonable hours, and as you can imagine, always packed with students
Great library, great service, nice and helpful staff, good reading space, clean wc, near tram and bus, highly recommended!
