Extensive Dutch collections, temporary exhibition could be good

It is a very large beautiful museum, it takes several days to appreciate it well. They have many works by renowned painters

Besides the art, the building is really pretty too.

Great place, both the collection and architecture. Absolutely worth a visit when you're in D.C.

This is the heart of inspiration for my family. There are so many amazing works here (and this place has no entry fee!). This is one of my favorite places on this planet.

It is a wonderful place. You can find in every space of the Gallery incredible paintings, sculptures and many works of art.

In a city of world class museums, The National Gallery stands out as one of the best. Phenomenal collection, excellent programming, plenty of lovely spots to relax and absorb. The flowers throughout are the icing on the cake!

Amazing place! You can spend a whole week there, and still wish to come back again and again!

What a great collection! We saw a DaVinci, Monets, Manets, Renoirs, Van Goh's Cassatts, Warhols, Picassos and everyone in between. Great collection of statues too. Be sure to see the Degas ballerinas.

My favorite museum in DC. It has twists and turns that makes every visit different, and every now and then, the live performances echo throughout the museum making for a surreal experience

Incredible gallery should not miss the new walkway in between both is spectacular always has a lot of new exhibits you won t be disappointed

I really liked seeing the landscapes, the portraits, statues, since the beginning of the Roman Empire, the Chinese culture, and much more everything wonderful

Very good museum, not too busy. Quality of presentation not exceptional, but the collections are fabulous. The impressionist painting part is very good, like the flemish masters part 16-17eme century. The museum is free and the building is superb

Lots of great paintings and artwork you can only find at this place. If you love art, you're gonna love this place. But one thing to remember, if you want to enjoy this place the most, you should consider at least two days for visiting this place unless you only want to walk quickly through the paintings and pay not too much attention to the nuances and the great details hidden in these beautiful masterpieces. By the way, I recommend putting your headphones on and listen to a great classical music collection (e.g. Bach, Mozart, etc.) while visiting here. I did that and it was fantastic.

Do not miss if you are visiting wash. DC. Leonardo, Matisse, Van G., and full of great jewels.

Excellent collection of American and Western European art. Not a whole lot from other areas, but it s so well done it s hard to fault the limited geographic scope. Plus they have one of the only (perhaps the only?) Leonardo da Vinci in the USA?

Went on a wonderful tour of modern art at the East Wing. Loved seeing the sculptures.

Could spend an entire day and still not see everything!

Similar to Disneyland, you can't see it all in one day. But, it's worth a try. Beautiful!

Beautiful architecture and exhibits. The museum staff was very friendly and helpful. However, security could have been a little bit more understanding and friendly. I understand they do this day in and day out and have to say the same things over and over but a smile and some friendliness never killed anyone.

Very beautiful and preserved place, several paintings by famous painters, among them Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn!

I love the way they paint the pictures and I have taken some pictures while I was there.

Very high-quality collections but few interpretative labels.

What can I say, it's a national treasure, hosting some of the world's greatest art in a monumental building

Amazing performance of "Violin Woman, African Dreams" in West Garden Court

Always a favorite. We spent about an hour here since we were just stopping to see a specific painting. Getting through security is always quick.

Magnificent basic collection. Pretty impressionism.

One of the best art museums in the world, covers all periods of American art and more. Only de Vinci in this hemisphere. Only major absance is African and East Asian art, although you can find African art in its own building near by.
