Not my cup of tea. Went with family and was board the entire time. Nice building famous paintings but I didn't get it.
The whole space breathes better because there is no process of purchasing tickets or showing a member id. The flow of energy from the museum to the city is uninterrupted.
I found it surreal to be walking from room to room of world renown masterpieces rather than just minor works from major artists that are typically in other museums. It's like walking through the pages of my art history books.
Fantastic collections. Terrific "proud to be American" venue. Very much appreciated the knowledgeable docents giving the tours. Really can't wait to visit the National Gallery of Art again.
Tons of art work from 1600's to today! A must see in DC.
Only with the fact of being free is already a giant Plus
Great Gordon Parks exibit
Parking if y r lucky Metro accessible
Great views of downtown
Monet, Cassatt, and special exhibit Hellenistic Bronze sculptures.
They had good excebitions and great customer service
Incredible collection of art through the ages. You can find everything from Italian Renaissance paintings to french impressionists to modern art. You can easily spend half a day here and entrance is free.
Gorgeous building that holds amazing pieces of arts. Note the Cafe area is amazing
Great quality art In a building that is it's self a piece of art
It's nice but after awhile you've seen enough old paintings.
Great collection, I especially enjoyed the Rembrandt section.
Beautiful space and excellent collection. Haven't been there in years and was pleased to see old favorites and discover artist I wasn't familiar with. Impossible to do in one day. Guess I'll just have to go back again, twist my arm!
I don't even like art and I thought this place was pretty cool. A few of the paintings don't deserve to be in there, but mostly interesting works of art.
Fascinating collection. If you come early it's not even crowded.
Beautiful gallery. Well curated exhibits of in many different mediums and periods from very old to very recent. Even the building itself is a work of art.
One of the most amazing galleries I ve seen. A definite 3 hour plus visit!
A wonderful free art museum. Be sure to check out the east wing-- that's where all the really cool modern stuff is. They have a very impressive collection of Matisse cut-outs.
It is always beautiful to visit this gallery, in addition to the fact that you do not pay, the staff is always very courteous and the building is wonderful
Love this place! So peaceful and just lovely beyond words!
I had my own Ferris Bueller moment here so I love the place. It also has less people thanks to the fact that it's right opposite to the Smithsonian Air and space museum so you really get to experience the amazing collection of art
Amazing!!! LOVED the view from the roof terrace of the East Building, and the Rothko & Calder exhibits were so beautiful. Did not get to check out the West building at all but waked through the East building for 2 hours and still didn t see everything.
Great art and very well layed out. We were in a hurry to see everything and the layout and the map they gave us allowed us to have an enriching experience in just over an hour. Probably boring for kids though.
This place was amazing and a DO NOT MISS! The fact that you can get close up to paintings that date to the origins of our country is amazing. The presidential portraits area is also fantastic. It is eye opening to see that each president faced great struggles at the time but as a country we can persevere and grow. Excited to come back again!
Amazing art. Wish I could have spent more time there
My most favorite museum in all of DC. I was disappointed to see a weaker East Wing after renovations, but still my favorite museum in the area.
We had an organized tour and they left us the chance to see the Space museum located on the opposite side of the road. Sin! Because once we entered the Museum of Art we had very little time to visit it! Beautiful displays and elegant surroundings. There are internal restaurants. The luxury one in the center of the museum suggests the booking, alternatively you can find a large space "Gelato & Espresso" on the lower floor with self service and bar.
A place you could visit every day for the rest of your life, and still find something new to be wondered and moved by. One of the most diverse selections of artists, mediums, and styles means that there's something for everyone. Its amazing to see kids and teens falling in love with art, and this is a place where that happens.
Art is music for the eyes. If you like art, you'll live this museum. It's a symphony!
Diverse range of art, truly beautiful. Great gift shop too
One of greatest collections of art in the world. I was shocked to find many pieces from my favorite European artists.
There's just never enough time. An amazing place; pleasing to all your senses.
Good collection. It's amazing for free. I wander on whenever I am close and wander over to my favorite things just for a quick look. The writing and drawing salons are another great offering!
Loved it. Has excellent food options in lower level.
Aaahhh.. You know you have reached an advanced maturity level when you WANT to be here, and not dragged there. ALWAYS a relaxing pleasure. Cheers.
Oliver Lee Jackson xzibit was very interesting Great Art Work
A wonderful collection of art in a beautiful work of architecture! I always love to visit and there is so much to see! The gift shop is a good place to find unique presents, but, of course, they are pricey.
This place is outstandingly beautiful. I am not a fine art guy, but when I was at the National Gallery of Art I felt that something gave me an opportunity to understand, to appreciate that arts. The place is wonderful
I was with some friends who had never been to DC before so we had a limited amount of time to spend at each location. I wish I had had more time! I don't know anything about famous artists or anything but there are some really moving pieces. Very cool.
This gallery is absolutely beautiful, the art and the building itself are both amazing.
Beautiful place for those who interested in history.
Rivals many world class museums in scope and quality. I've been going here about once per month for 2 years now and still find new things to focus on. Such a great gift it's free too, but even if it weren't, it would still be worth it.
