Good gallery and the best buskers 'The Spinning Blowfish'. Enjoy amazing art and music so much! Don't miss each of them when you get in Edinburgh. I promise that you won't regret to spend your time to get here.

The venue is spacious and free, and there are plenty of places to rest, but unfortunately there are only two floors.

Excellent gallery to visit for sure and you enter for free.

Small but great collection (& the best public toilets in Edinburgh ;-)

Although the museum has a lovely collection of global works, the basement level is the gem of gallery. The work of the Scottish painters is a moving collection of landscapes that will have you wading in lochs and climbing grassy mounds. Be sure to stop in the cafe for a unique view of Calton Hill and the city.

I didn't visit all of the rooms but I was blown away by the Impressionist room with significant works by Gaugin and Renoir, among others. The decor and architecture of the gallery added to the experience. There's a lovely cafe terrace overlooking Princess Street gardens.

I like here the most. In every piece of picture, there were the dept of feeling inside. There are many piece of famous artist including Van goh.

Very beautiful, even if there are not very many paintings of great importance and the second floor is not accessible to the disabled.

As citizens of Edinburgh we are extremely lucky to have such magnificent art works permanently on display.

Well-equipped environment for a good show. Most of the paintings are naturally of Italian origin.

Amazing collection of art pieces. Staff were friendly.

A small but pretty place, Picasso's works are in this modern art gallery.

For lovers of art this is a good place to perceive contemporary, renaissance, roman era, etc.

FANTASTIC gallery. Can easily be done in a couple of hours without feeling rushed. Beautiful works of art in a very nice environment. Free to enter.

A small but interesting museum its permanent collection

It ddn't take too long to explore the impressive collection, but it can take as long as you want to linger. It's lovely. Our two teenage kids handled it pretty well and will likely never forget the Impressionist Hall, where they compared their favorites with each other. This Mama is proud.

It's not big in comparison to other countries I've been to but selection of artwork is amazing

Impressive from the outside, quite nice on the inside put not even slightly comparable with the National Gallery of London.

At the heart of the city, thus no reason to miss it !

Good collection, varied, although I did not like the lighting that prevented some paintings could be enjoyed and valued as it deserves.

Spent a morning in the National Gallery. Could easily spend all day there, I look forward to a return visit.

Many masterpieces, excellent gallery. A good visit takes about 3 hours. A careful visit takes about 12 hours (3 hours per period in which the gallery is divided).

Ideal for children or teenagers. It is quite interesting, but at the entrance they present it much more impressive than it is later.

Diverse collection including Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Degas, etc. Rooms were spacious to avoid overcrowding. Highly recommend a visit, especially since it's free! Don't miss it!

One of the best galleries in the country. A stair facing the main entrance leads to the Mediaeval and renaissance paintings which is a good place to start. After that the main galleries follow on in a clockwork direction approximately chronologically. A side room displays The Seven Sacraments by Poussin. At the half way point in the main halls go upstairs for landscape and Impressionist works or downstairs to see the collection of Scottish works.

Good small free to enter gallery houses modern along with impressionist and portrait art. Well worth a visit.

Ok. Didn t found it to interesting. Liked the early pictures best. Italian an Rafael. Good location. Free entrance.

Wonderful picture gallery, with paintings by the most famous Scottish artists and not only, suitable for lovers of painting and sculpture.
All obviously kept in excellent condition.

Has nice collection of art work. Collections include the works of different European artists dating back up to 15th Century I guess. No photography allowed in here to share any.

Well organized exposition, cool high quality painting. Scottish artists are interesting.

It's not very big but it has some interesting artworks, even a pretty curious Monet. The best thing is that it is free.

A lovely gallery, showcasing some great examples of art. The gallery itself is in a great location, and is well presented. It is well with a look if you are in Edinburgh, and definitely worth the donation (as it is free to enter, but donations are appreciated). The gallery also had a delightful cafe too.

Small gallery, but very interesting, I point out the availability of large lockers for a fee, ideal to leave the suitcases, maybe the last day of travel

The gallery is not very big, but beautiful and free! The staff is very friendly, so it was a beautiful visit :)

Loved the exhibition. Many beautiful paintings, entrance was free of charge and stuff was really helpful and knowledgeable

Manager very engaging on a Saturday Morning and subsequently fellow staff hard working and diligent to customers needs.Eggs Benedict soft with light silky sauce -perfect!
