NBS told my insurance to go back a month and not cover me for a treatment of an illness I lost my job regarding.
I checked with my insurance right before treatment. The clinic even billed me for it as if it was covered, but later the clinic billed me as if I didn t have health insurance.

Insurance was supposed to cover $5k of that treatment!!

I had no way to know I was dropped. I wasn t notified. I even checked to make sure I was covered and told I was covered after the fact.
A month later the insurance company told me I was dropped. Then later, I learned that they also removed coverage of treatments a month before that!

I already spent my emergency fund on an illness that made me too sick to work most of last year. Now, I have a $5k medical bill.

They froze my FSA card because of a mistake *they* made (they overcharged the card). That caused me to make claims manually (which is a pain) then they wanted to charge me for a new card. Not cool.

Employers please do not use this company. You employees will hate you for it. I work in the dental field and I am constantly getting calls from my patients saying that they need more documentation for a payment they made. They force the patients hand by deactivating their card until they get all their "documents". I have to send them multiple times and write letters on behalf of our patients. This is wasting so much of the patients, medical, and dental facilities time. My husbands company also uses this horrible company and I have had the unpleasant experience of using them personally and found myself in the same situation. I went through the same nightmare of trying to get reimbursement and it took months. Not worth the time I spent on the phone to get MY money. Just know that if you use this company you will have to send them ridiculous amounts of documentation to get reimbursed for EVERY single transaction. Save yourself the time and frustration and AVOID NBS!!!

DO NOT USE dependent care service, in no way do they provide "Benefits". You can still pay for your childcare expenses tax free by filing them in your annual return which is MUCH simpler. I have attempted to make a dependent care claim 3 times utilizing the forms they provide and am being told fax and emails take TWO days to confirm reception then another 2-3 days to review??? meanwhile they are holding MY MONEY for over a year( wonder how much money they making by holding our funds in investment accounts?) ..... complete garbage of a service.

We pay a monthly fee to have access to a card we can use to pay our medical expenses. This is for convenience. However, we frequently get requests for extra documentation. I can see where this would be necessary if it isn't clear what we were paying for, but when it's a pediatric dentist, I think that's pretty obvious what we paid for. We obviously weren't buying milk. In the past they've said it's random which expenses have to be verified but when it's the same dentist over and over again I find that hard to believe! Why am I paying for the convenience of a card if I have to verify the charger with extra documentation anyway? Rip-off. Frustrating. Wish we had another option besides just paying after taxes.

Edit after company response:
Yes, we submitted exactly what was asked for. The documentation had exactly the info needed and yet, it's still not good enough. The rep on the phone today said the audits are random. I call bull. Never are the audits on my dentist, on a regular doctor, on an eye doctor, chiropractor, glasses company. They are only when we take our kids to this dentist. The rep said they want to make sure we aren't getting something not eligible, like teeth whitening. Really? What idiot gets their kids' baby teeth whitened? Goodness. I'd rather pay extra taxes and not use flex spending than work with this ridiculous company.

Extremely difficult to deal with. Every claim has an issue and takes weeks to resolve if its ever resolved. I have given up a few times trying to communicate with them because they are so impossible. I hope my company chooses a different way to do things in the future.

Avoid avoid avoid. TWO MONTHS to complete a rollover request. They refused to rollover my balance to my new 401k despite my having the necessary info to do so. They just wanted someone from my new 401k to just write an email and sign it with a letter head. Talking to support the letter didn't even have to say anything. Just a letterhead with a signature. Never mind that the new provider has an automated form with the account info and mailing address. Modern companies don't have agents sitting around signing blank letters, they build self-service portals and keep up with the times. Oh, and you can only snail mail or fax documents, but they'll email you sensitive documents, you just can't email them documents... Customer support is the worst, worse than AT&T even. To get anything done, you should just email everyone they list on their website. They've got the C-level team's emails listed, have at it. They responded but of course did nothing, but hey at least you can annoy their inbox while they make money off of the money you have sitting in your account. If your employer offers 401k plans through NBS let them know how much you hate them and put your money literally anywhere else. I'd put money under a mattress before handing it over to NBS to manage.

I have used NBS as both a consumer and plan administrator.

As a consumer I primarily used their FSA Services to include Flex Spending and Dependent Care Reimbursements. Their website is great and relatively user friendly. I recommend having all required docs to submit before filing a claim to reduce reimbursement lead time. I never ran into a service issue during my own personal use of their services.

As a plan administrator I utilized their services for around 4 years or so. Their customer service needs a bit of work as turnover is high and plan knowledge for customers is low. The service can become a hassle if you do not educate yourself beforehand on what documents are required for specific reimbursements. We had a few complaints each month and the problem was never resolved as the issues continually occurred.
