Nashville Zoo Review

The animals looked well taken care of and healthy the amount of animals was a little on the light side really there was tons of room for other exhibits but nothing but pathways. Be ready to walk half a mile between exhibits. Guinea pigs dont count as exotic

Beautiful zoo, has lots of really cool cultural displays for animals native to those areas. Plenty of food options, and a good gift shop. The only reason I give the lower star rating is bc many of the animals were not in the habitats on our recent visit, plus, with all the covid19 restrictions, many of the areas were closed or restricted. This included the amphibian/reptile indoor area. Traffic was only one direction, making it very crowded along the paths, which really isnt zoo staff's fault, just a byproduct of all the pandemic reopening safety regulations. They are doing their best to safely be open.

Its so much fun I woud definitely recommend getting a zoo membership if you are going more than twice a year

One the best zoo's to visit!!! Animal habitats are open and spacious with plenty of room to roam! Highly recommend for any family looking for something to do in the Nashville area.

We went for the Christmas lights and it was absolutely fantastic! Very cool experience.

It's a really nice zoo and i love that the animals had such space! The only thing is the viewing areas are very small. When it is busy or if you have a stroller it's hard to get in there and see. The zoo was nice and clean. Also the layout it a bit confusing. It's a more organic layout which is cool but hard to navigate.

We are members but took the VIP tour today for the first time. AMAZING!

Lovely zoo, well maintained. Look at the timeline that they give you for the day when you enter the park for opportunities to learn more about the park and the animals directly from the zookeepers.

It is a place full of lots of vegetation and very quiet despite the hot weather of the season

Beautiful little zoo! It's well laid out, with plenty of shady walkways and picnic areas. You can bring in your own food, so we pack a backpack cooler for lunch and eat inside the Zoo.

My two son's and I are excited about going back to the zoo this fall.
It's the only zoo on the planet, that let's you feed and pet most of the zoo animals.

I loved the experience being in this zoo. I got to interact with a few of the animals. My favorite to interact with was the kangaroos. I also enjoyed how close I could get to the giraffes. The red pandas and meerkats were adorable

We went to Zoomilation it was FANTASTIC!! It was crowded,,but everyone one was very polite! Chinese lanterns were exquisite! The zoo employees were informative and the grounds were very clean! Well worth the price. I would definitely recommend going! We even saw some animals include the Tiger !

I used to live about 35 minutes from Nashville in Murfreesboro and would go to the nashville zoo about once a week. It was the third best zoo ive been to the cleveland zoo and columbus zoo are the best that ive been too. The exhibits where nice and big only reason I didnt give it a five was beacuse they had no great apes

Staff is friendly, atmosphere is fun and inviting.

Prices are a little steep
Look to spend close to $100 for tickets and parking depending on group size not to mention the cost to buy additional tickets just to feed the turtles and birds and to ride the carousel and zipline

Not even going to comment on the food/drink prices.

Park needs to be laid out better, there is no natural flow to the layout and it's easy to miss enclosures, having to stop figure it which way to go.

Many of the animals are hard up see and many of them you cannot see at all due to the way the enclosures are set up.

The park could stand to increase the number of animals they have, maybe invest in some of the more bigger animals instead of Guinea pigs.

Zoo entry is too high priced! Snacks and drinks are high priced as well. Didn't see many animals either. Not worth it! Also paid for parking when tickets are purchased online but receipt for parking was never scanned at the park like the tickets were.

Such a wonderful place! Always so much to do my daughter loves it!

Really lovely grounds and an amazing playground area! Also loved the lorikeet feeding and zip line!

Great place for a family outing. Layout is expansive and attractive. When we visited, there was a lot of renovation and expansion going on, which is encouraging. Recommended for all ages.

Wonderful day to enjoy the Zoo! The animals were beautiful and the Chinese Lanterns we're captivating. My favorite habitat was the monkeys, they swing from branch effortlessly!

Supposed to be 1 way paths, people ignoring signs. Too many people, thought it was supposed to be limited by appt times.

Also too many people wearing chin diapers, not masks.

It is a nice size and well organized. Shaded paths keep you from getting overheated. The viewing areas are well placed do you are able to see the animals even when they are inactive.

Have been a member for many years and have seen the zoo grow and progress. New spider monkey and Peruvian bear exhibits are first-rate.

It stormed really bad and we didn't get to see many animals.

Just seems like the place stays the same every year. A zoo just isn't what it used to be.

Don't believe the reviews that this zoo is over priced for its attractions. Those who are critical of this factor haven't been to enough zoos. We are members of both the Indianapolis Zoo and Fort Wayne Zoo and neither even come close. Absolutely gorgeous enclosures with a wide selection of animals. The Unseen World is incredible, a must see. The new Andean Bear exhibit is breathtaking. Really pleased with the knowledgeable staff who were present and eager to answer questions. We're far enough away that Nashville will not be a frequent stop, but you can count on us coming back. Thank you!!

Great zoo tucked away in Nashville. The grounds are very well maintained. Lots of animals to see too. Giving it four stars because I truly believe the Toledo Zoo in Ohio is the best in the U.S.A.

Went for girl scouts. No problems with the zoo other than it's too cold right now for many of the animals to be seen

Many exhibits didn't have good views of the animals. They probably had better views of the people.

Amazingly fun for the whole family! There is rides and lots of animals to pet too, it's definitely a great wild life experience . I give it 4 stars due to the limited animal shows where the vet comes and talks about the animals and your kids can see. It's 11 or 2 and if your across the park trying to run with your kids is impossible.

Nice place, would be nice if more of the exhibits were open.

Outstanding Customer Service by Zoo Staff Member Leon! He helped us find a lost purse from the previous day by providing escort and wheel chair access to inquire at each vendor and shop.

Zoo was a great experience apart from the mishap. Excellent Covid attention with marked one way trails, timed entry to reduce people pile up. Zoo staff friendly, relaxed animals in uncrowded natural enclosures.

Recommend to others and will return.

Great zoo. I would recommend it to anyone. Going through some remodeling but truly a great zoo and largely focused on proper habitats for animals. Incredibly huge and awesome playground for kids too.

I love this zoo. I am a foster mom and all of the children I have brought to this zoo ( ages 9 mo. to 17 years) loved it. They all found the experience to be great.

Great zoo. They are working on tons of improvements. Unfortunately, that means some construction and fewer exhibits at the moment.

Staff was super friendly though, and the main restaurant was surprisingly good.

So many animals and you can get really close to them. They all seem very happy and healthy as well. It's definitely something you should set aside your full day for.

Boo at the Zoo was not fun for my kids. At our scheduled time, no animals were out and it was discouraging.

My family and I have had an annual membership for over ten years. Have taken our babies there hundreds of times. Well, they are teenagers now and we still gonas a fsmily. The Nashville Zoo is quaint, serene, calm, expanding and always worth a visit.

Love the zoo! Worth getting the membership! The staff is great, love the animals, very family friendly

$50.00 just to get in, that's 2 adults and a 2 year old (17.00 adults, 12.00 for kids 2-8) who charges for 2 year olds to begin with, seriously, disgusting! Parking is not free either so that's included in the 50.00. Want to rent a hard and uncomfortable plastic stroller..? Another 10.00 for a single child, 20.00 for a double child. So that's 60.00 to 70.00 before you even get in. A to buy a toddler tshirt and a couple cheap plastic toys..? Another 50.00. Oh and please dont look too hard or longer in the gift shop because they will be all over you with their fake smiles (they really think your stealing something) I'm glad the child I took had a great day but I'm sure I will be looking for a cheaper and more fun place to take a two year old. It's quite obvious by the cost alone it's a tourist place verses a place for folks that actually live in the area would be able to afford to go to more then once every 2-5 years.

Very disappointed. Didnt see any giraffes, elephants, hippos, rhinos, and such. Did see one bear, one tiger, one cougar, and a couple of monkeys.

My family and I had a great time. Looking forward to going back.

The Nashville Zoo is nice. Still growing so all you expectations won't be met. Worth the visit though!
