Absolutely wonderful. Polite staff and well kept grounds. The animals are very cute.

Love this place ever since i moved to Nash i already have visit 5 times.
Visited during spring break. The day started wet and remained cool and overcast, which left attendance low. Most of the exhibit habitats feel much more natural than other zoos I've visited. For instance, some of the monkeys climb real, mature trees in their habitat. We had a great day.
Coming from DC, be aware, you pay for admission as well as parking. Don't miss the kangaroos!
Animals were great with good hands on exobiology s however staff are appalling and literally kicked me out for no reason.
Always has new things I wish there were better water fountains for the amount of people that visit every day. It gets really hot in TN.
We have a family membership and love going to the zoo. The new rhinos are amazing!
I went the zoo when it was raining. Most of the creatures where taking shelter but it was still interesting to wander around.
Fun for the whole family. Season passes are reasonable and they last the whole year. The food in the cafeteria is amazing and at a discount if you have a season pass. Best time of year to visit is spring and fall so it's not too hot.
Wonderful light display. Great family outing for the holidays. :)
Shaded and well maintained, loved my hours spent here!
Loved it! It was fun for the family and we felt very safe with masks required, social distancing, even cleaning the carousel in-between rides.
Great, if a member. Just don't even try on weekends. It can get overcrowded quick!
Zoolumination was delightful and enchanting. It felt peaceful to walk around the zoo at night, such a beautiful place, and then to have the amazing displays all lit up. I very much appreciate the signage regarding be each display, very informative. I think families of all ages would enjoy it.
A little small compared to zoos around me. There were snakes on exhibit in the men's room though, which was new to me and way cool.
Very well shaded, and the exhibits make it easy to see all the species most times of the day. I've been to many zoo's and this one has very nice trails and is well maintained. The "shows" are at 11:00a.m. and 2:00 p.m. central time.
It is a great zoo. It is clean and the staff are friendly.
Nashville Zoo is always expanding something or building a new exhibit! It's a good time. Gift shop is decent, and there are good lunch and snacking options throughout the campus. Parking isn't too expensive. Playground for kids was a blast when I was the appropriate age of 9.
Take the kids or the BF or the GF or your mom! There's fun for everyone
It was a beautiful day outside for a visit to the zoo. It wasnt to crowded and service for the food was fast.
Love the view great place to take a big family group or for school
It was good but some of my favorite animals wasnt there, and that made me sad, like the Red Panda.
Very nice just wish our Nashville zoo would grow into a bigger zoo with the rest of the city. Little has changed as far as the animal exhibits in a decade
If I could give it a negative 5 I would place was horrible had nothing really out the like a zoo would have. Most of the things they had were temporary closed or weren't going to be open for a while. My wife and our 2 kids went and it cost 70$ for admission and 12 tickets for the kids to be able to do the extras. I will never go back EVER it's better to drive the extra 250 miles to go to ST Louis Missouri where there zoo is 10,000 times better and it's cheaper. We want to see the kangroos and there was a lady in there that worked for the zoo and told people to stay on the path and not get off, well there was a kangroo laying 3 ft from the path so a gentleman leaned over and touched it and I thought she was going to come unglued don't touch them if they want to be touched they will come to you and he is sleeping you will mess up his sleep time so alll in all a big disaappointment and a waste of 70$ for sure
It s an okay size but nothing special. Like most, a water will cost you $3.50.
Wonderfully sized zoo. We visited while driving through the city and it was the perfect pit stop for our family.
We loved this zoo for a day trip... Although a bit expensive for out of towners.
Zoolumination Largest Chinese Light Festival in North This year running till February. Don't miss it.
I love this zoo! It really is for the entire family. Lots of shade, very nice habitats and the staff is super friendly. There's loads for children to see and do.
I hate giving bad reviews and I understand that the zoo is under contrustion. But can you tell your customers that most of the animals are unavailable. Even your Nashville neighbors give bad reviews. Have to fix the problem.
The kids always enjoy themselves. Especially when all the exhibits are open. Be prepared to spend a small fortune on tickets and food. $7 for a pb&j kids meal. Which is literally an Uncrustable. I'm pretty sure you can buy an entire box of those things at the store for less than $7. Buy a box before you go with a case of water and take them in your cooler. Then you can save that money to pay for more important things. Like rides at the zoo....which cost extra.
My overall experience was great! however the food service at the concession/food area was horrible. I was in line waiting to be served , a couple skipped line and was serviced before me, after acknowledging to the the employee that i was next, she understood what happened and still proceeded to take yet another customer order who was on the other side of the counter and not in line. after addressing the situation yet another time , i was at this point livid and felt like my money was not needed nor wanted. I really dont complain about the small stuff, but this was completely unacceptable. needless to say i did not order any food and i let the clerk know how unprofessional she was.
I love the zoo and all of the animals. I took a back stage tour and saw the top notch facilities and the care they put into the care of these beautiful animals.
Lots of exhibits, downside was we couldnt see the tigers, bears, or rhinos, because they were under construction, and constantly had to go back the same way we came
The new construction they have done recently adds some nice touches. Parking is free which is nice. They have a new zip line that's fun for adults and kids. The only downsides were the lack of fans due to the heat, and there are multiple exhibits that are under construction which was disappointing for the kids. It's a great place to walk around with the family though.
Really nice zoo, clean and friendly staff! Only complaint I have is we paid for our tickets and $7 for parking online and took printed tickets with us. There is no one actually looking at parking tickets! I asked other people and they said there is no fee for parking?????? Don t pay for parking online!
Nice Zoo not very big compared to my hometown but lots of trees to provide shade on a hot day very!!
We love our zoo! It's a great place to take kids, though I would recommend going first thing in the morning to beat the heat.
Nice zoo. Animal enclosures are nice replicas of the natural environment. I've been to zoo's where they just look caged and thats so upsetting. This zoo is clean and well layed out. Only thing is.. they didnt have any elephants.
Great Zoo. It is Beautiful, but it was TOO CROWDED !
This place FANTASTIC!!! Animals are happy and healthy.. They were very entertaining.. LOVED IT!!
Organized during COVID but most animals large and small a no-show. Easy parking and entry. Beautiful landscape, great amenities. The carousel charming.
We walked more than 4hrs looking for tigers, rhinos, gorillas, monkeys, a lion, giraffes over 5feet tall, only to be disappointed. It'd be nice to know up front the "zoo" is lacking animals and under major renovations. My 1yr old loved the petting zoo, carousel, train, and interactive kangaroo exhibit.
This is a gorgeous, really well designed zoo. We strongly recommend it if you have kids or care about the welfare of animals in captivity.
Where we had trouble was with some of the narrative surrounding its history and how it was presented.
It's no secret that the zoo moved to this location after a historic family sold it. You can see plaques all over one area talking about how slaves were "needed," for the original farm to run. A few years ago, in 2014, many of the slaves graves had to be relocated. You would think this would be a good opportunity to show these people more respect, but instead they received regular stones as grave markers instead of any identifying or anything more presentable. Meanwhile, the "masters" still have an elaborate graveyard, filled with obelisks and nicely carved markers.
Why not something to honour these nameless slaves who built and ran this farm? And why not a more suitable narrative surrounding them, the family that owned the land, and the farm's history? It felt as though the narrative here was okay with and sympathized with these slave owners.
We were glad that the historic home estate was the last part of the zoo we saw, because the rest was absolutely lovely and still very much recommended.
We had a wonderful time with the family and the exhibits were great!
Expected a fun trip for the kids, but I was blown away by how much I enjoyed the Zoo. Fed the birds, walked with the kangaroos, saw amazing exotic animals like the Red Panda. Absolutely loved it!
Been here plenty of times and love the setup/scenery of how the zoo is built. They keep expanding and renovating the place. It looks better each time. After several visits we decided to buy a membership which can be used at several other places. The Tiger exhibit is still under construction but they will be expected to be here at the end of 2018. The bears will be here in a couple weeks. It s always a clean and friendly place to have fun and relax your stress away in the Mother Nature jungle of animals. Food and beverages are highly priced but not uncommon for places as such. Can t wait to see the final construction plans completed. Lots of shade from the sun and cover from the rain. Bring your cameras and enjoy your time.
Absolutely loved it if you have been to the zoo but never did the house tour you are missing out! The story behind the zoo makes it that much more enjoyable and appreciated!
Nice zoo. No lions or elephants, but monkeys in the trees were fun to watch. Very pretty and clean zoo. Beautiful nature path through bamboo forest. Lunch in cafe was delicious. Playgrounds for kids.
Really fun place. Great for kids and always clean when we go. Not in the best location
The Chinese lights are worth the trip!! This is a beautiful exhibit with a wide variety of displays throughout the park. Wear your warm clothes because it takes quite a while to get through everything. There were lots of children as well as adults. We didn't have young children with is but found it all wonderful. Worth your time!
Great little zoo just outside Nashville. Fun for a good half day for the whole family.
Great place to spend half the day walking around with the family. Plenty of shade. Animal enclosures are very animal friendly allowing animals some retreat while allowing visitors to observe.
We went to the zoo illumination. It was amazing. Far more detailed than anticipated. It was not crowded probably because of the rain but because the temperature was so mild it did not lessen our experience at all! Plenty of rest areas. The displays were absolutely incredible.
It was advertised that there would be Chinese food but we did not see that. We also thought there would be more shows. We did see one show.
We thoroughly enjoyed the display and would highly recommend it.
New exhibit for the bears is beautiful with a great environment.
I loved the zoo we had alot of fun I would recommend it to anyone
Good to be visited in spring and summer. In winter there are no animals and attractions that do not work due to the cold. But afterwards it is worth visiting, well organized
The wife and I had a lot of fun here! There's many exhibits to see, and a few rides to ride. Just be prepared to be walking around quite a bit, and pay a pretty penny for food and drinks. But overall, it was a great experience for a good entry fee.
Nashville zoo is very big as in area wise, they have lots of animals, birds, fish, snkes(monkey, spider monkey, zebra, turtles, rinosourus, giraffe, leopard latest added bear, farm animals like goat, sheep, horse, cow, white owls, parrots, separate bird sections etc) all animals are placed in different sections they have their planty of area to roam around.
There is separate cafeteria and gift shoppie, zoo have stroller and wheelchair rental facility available.they arrange different events (ester, boo at the zoo at time of Halloween).
Really large zoo with plenty of animals to see! the have a zipline type ride that you can pay for and they also have an old farm house you can tour!
Kids loved it. Playground area is a nice addition for a zoo to have. A few animals were unavailable since it was cold & concession stands were all closed but the admission was 1/2 off because of it too. Overall, had a great time.
If you don't love animals there is something wrong with you
