First time here and it was absolutely amazing!
Easy to get too and not far from Calgary. Great for all levels of skiers love the 3 high speed chairs! The lodge is very big and clean! And the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the great experience!!

If you would like to go camping, explore nature and see the beautiful mountains come here. Troll Falls it beautiful and a great little hike. Sundance campground is very nice we stayed in the Trapers Tents they offer, very cool. All in all a great way to spend your time away from it all. Will be coming back !

Would not recommend if you need to buy full price tickets, you are better off going to any of the big 3 with that kind of money. They do make a LOT of snow, so if man made snow is your thing you could give them a try.

We had a great first day out. First line up was eally busy but it levelled it was reasonable the rest if the day. For the few runs that were open and considering the lack of snow, conditions were good on Easy Street and Mighty Peace. Kids had a blast. Now that it has snowed 70 cm out there, can't wait to get back out. Felt safe and there were staff in the lines giving feedback on how to wear your mask properly.

One of my best ski experiences ever. No crowds. Great slopes (good enough for 1988 olympics). I brought my own ski boots as I have large feet, and I experienced a boot blowout that completely destroyed my boot. They gave me free rental boots for the rest of my stay! very friendly and personable staff.

Great family hill, all amenities a family could need. Can be extremely busy and congested on long weekend or if kids have days off ie; Christmas, Easter, development day etc.
No chairlift mazes, can be a real elbows up/euro style of loading. No organization at the lift lines and no gates to help control line up congestion.

Beautiful mountain, tough to muck up really.

Beautiful mountain, tough to muck up really.

Wish there were more tree runs, but for a family, it s a perfect mountain kids!

Minus the obscenely overpriced food and drinks, but that s nearly every resort and ski hill for ya!

Praying for a big snowfall and looking forward to another season of skiing here. Their season pass deal is still fantastic, $600 for a family of 4 with 2 kids learning how to ski is pretty awesome. Also, being only about 1 hour from the city makes it totally worth it to come for even half a day.

This is a small ski hill compared to the hills inside the national park. The lifts are not that busy and is slower so it's easier for begginers. I recommend this hill when you want to go for a quick ski session not too far from the city.

Nakiska is a great beginner hill. I wish they got more snow coverage but they're super close to Calgary and they do have a good glade section which is a bit more challenging but all in all it's a beginner hill that gets a tad icy if they haven't had a fresh snowfall.

Great ski resort, except some runs are quite icy, including Eye Opener and Mighty Peace. The glades aren't bad either. The burgers at Mid-Mountain Lodge are WAY better than the BBQ Pit there, and it feels like the resort is well-maintained!

Have a season pass and love the mountain. Great proximity to Calgary, amazing price and lots of varied terrain. My only complaint would be the extremely outdated amenities. Nothing seems to have been updated since the Olympics. If the lodges were updated a bit, this could be a real world class ski resort.

Review for Koreans: Nakiska, the nearest Rocky Mountain ski resort in Calgary. When the snow is good, it's a great course. Flat and wide runs are an advantage. It's a miniature version of Lake Louise. The price is low and there is no entry fee to Banff / Lake Lewis. The reason for the undervaluation is snow quality. Snow quality was excellent in the early 2000s, but there was no proper winter weather in the 2010s.

You can rent just what you need instead of a whole package. Service is good and lots of different areas for different skill levels. Many flat sections so be prepared or you will have to skate!

Mountain was pretty good. Had snow the day before, but some runs were still pretty icy. The staff at the restaurant were horrible however, didn't speak kindly at all. One liftie at the magic carpet was awesome and really nice, but I got to the bronze lift at 4:03 and another liftie wouldn't let me go up. I had to walk all the way back up the hill. I understand the lifts stop at 4, but they didn't have any signs saying it was closed, and I had no watch

Icey runs in the morning. Took the gold lift up to ski down to the mid lodge but the blue run was closed for a ski lesson meaning that icy black runs had to be navigated. Not fun. Lodge was also closed so had to go to the main lodge for lunch. Food was tasty if overly expensive. Pro shop was sold out of a few things I wanted to pick up.

Green runs are quite short but nice cruisers. The rollers on the blue runs don't seem much different than their black runs. Everything is nice and wide though and well groomed. Signs at the hill have not been updated to match the info in their website.

Best for starters, wide runs and low cost season ticket if you buy it earlier. The ski school has the best deal for new skier. The learn to ski/snowboard lesson package only cost 245 or 273(peak season) which covers three days learning (any 3 days) include lift tickets, equipment rental and 2 2-hour lesson each day.

First time at Nakiska. LOVED IT. I can't believe it has taken me years to try it. The runs are so long, tree groomed and wide with beautiful views. Just FUN and not difficult at all. Like rollercoaster runs, my favourite! The drive was much shorter, the ticket prices less, the parking easy. So many great things! It is still early season and not all of the runs were open. I can't wait to come back when there is more natural snow and every run is open soon! The one thing that did upset me a bit is the fact that we took the gold chair up and were not told that every blue run from the top was closed. The chair lift operator at the top directed us to a blue run down that was also not open. We had to take off our skies and pick our way down a black run because it was too icy for us nervous skiers that stick to green/blue runs. I think it's important to notify people going up a chair lift if there are only black runs open at the top.
