Very bad service, slow over priced, the place was full and there where no place to sit which at first give the goo impression of (wow we made a good choice must be good to be this pack at 1030), but later we realized we were wrong, took us 20 min for us to be able to get our first drink, then they took all the chairs of the bar and did not explained why, we left after be trying for 40 min to get a drink out of the bar and we were standing all night next to the cash register. And the dj suck. First and last.

Another Lettuce hit. Interesting food not available at many other places. Cool decor.

Adam our server was great. Nice place for a private party. Amazing churros, like melt in your mouth amazing. The i had four differrnt white Sangrias. All good. The raspberry peach, ginger something, and mango lime were the best to me. Good music, beautiful chandeliers in the back room they use for private parties.

The ambience was very nice. The food was pretty good, especially the guacamole and the chicken skewers. However the drinks like the pina coladas and margaritas were served on crushed ice. I prefer those drinks be frozen. Crushed ice doesn't do drinks like that any service.

Bad attention. My friend was thrown away from his bank card when he went to the bar for a few drinks, without answering. If you visit it, be careful that you lose your card. We stayed until the end and it was that they got the card. They are very bad at treating the public

An excellent venue and has been for over a decade. Wonderful pan Latin American menu with knowledgeable servers.

Have always enjoyed Nacional 27, but today went for their Restaurant Week special and was very disappointed. No qualms with the food, but the service was atrocious - either the server was overworked or (what feels more likely) she treated us as second class customers. She never checked back for drink orders or follow up on meal quality, pacing was abysmally slow - we finished dinner and she never came by after 25 minutes with dessert - we gave up after this and paid the bill and left without dessert.

I was recommended this location by a friend who raved about it. I figured it was more of a special occasion type of place so when it came to my birthday, I wanted to get a small group of friends and family together. We enjoyed our time there and I would also recommend them.

Good. Not great. I was disappointed by bar menu not being easily available at table and after the ask and permission to have a taco at the table it was lackluster. A street vendor would have made a better taco. My meal was good. Guacamole and chips were excellent.

Excellent place for Latinos, the atmosphere is excellent

Was in this restaurant yesterday for dinner and they have really nice food. The environment is clean and family friendly.

At 2 o'clock in the morning they start to get people out but the DJ got good vibes so he gave us 8 more minutes to finish the drinks. But this relaxes the environment so it is recommended.

Good but the constant music mix does not let you enjoy

Our first time here, nice place, food was great, drinks are ok, good music. We had a miscommunication issue with our waiter which made this outing not perfect but the manager Brad was very courteous on taking care of the situation. Definitely looking forward to our next visit. For dinner I had the Brazilian churrasco and was perfectly cooked. Fair price

Bad service and food. Not worth it, better off going to Hooters, down the street. Lady bartender had me stand there waiting to asl for a drink more than 20 minutes, when I kindly spoke up she was real agitated. Hire more servers, stop ripping prople off for $20.

Great place to hang out! We've never had a bad time here. It's never empty, and lots of people dancing all the time. Try it and you'll see. If you like Latin nights, this is your best bet in the area.

Part of the Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Nacional 27 offers a twist on Latin food and drinks. The service as well as the food were great. If you are dining on a weeknight you are almost certain to find a seat.

Aside from the chips being a little greasier than I would have liked, this place was amazing. The salsa was super delicious, I wish I could have eat more of it. For my main course, I ordered tenderloin medallions with chimichurri and some other sauce. It also came with these amazing potatoes that were covered in some sauce I couldn't identify. I can't wait to make it back to order this again. We also got some mini-desserts at the end and, by far, my favorite was the mango sorbet. Best dessert I've had in a while. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for Mexican in the area.

Our holiday office party was held here. Everyone enjoyed the guacamole bar, mojito/margarita bar, steak quesadillas, make your own taco...the mini churro dessert bar. Fresh ingredients, delicious flavors. We ate, we danced....we all had a wonderful time.

Delicious, albeit pricy food and drink, however the dancing really shines. That dance floor was packed on a Saturday night, but my partner and I had a lot of fun.

I made reservations to still have to stand in line after telling the bouncer that I had reservations , while he let people in who didn't. Yes, I was in line before them. When he decided to get to me, I gave him my name several times and spelled it for him. I even saw it on his clipboard. After going back and forth about who's party I was attending and him telling me because I didn't know, that I would have to pay an additional $20 when I already paid when I made reservations. I told him someone else invited me so I didn't know so he made me stand to the side. It was very cold outside and I had on a dress. I stood outside for at least 20-25 mins. I was able to have the person come out that invited me after I contacted her to tell the bouncer the persons name. He then, asked my name. I told him my name yet again and said,"I told you my name." He then laughs and says I never told him my name. Why the hell wouldn't I say my name. I told him multiple times and spelled it the 1st time. Why the hell would I want to stand out in the cold! I would never go back even if you paid me, bought my drinks and told me a famous person was there! Let me not forget the bartender that spilled someone's drink on the bar that spilled all on my feet because I couldn't move back quick enough. I got to go home with Hennessy toes in my new shoes. What an awesome night!

I didnt appreciate the girl that coordinates events. I cant remember her name but she was so rude to start off. Has no customer service skills, I appreciate her rearranging us to another table to accommodate us, even though it was done with an attitude. She was obviously bothered by a simple request and tried making me feel bad for having her "move" people around. I told her that it was fine and if it was too much of a problem that we didnt need to move things around. She just responded rudely and never once smiled at me. Her vibe was so uncomfortable the whole time. She was upset and I could tell in her tone. I worked in the restaurant industry as a college kid and not once did I give my customers an attitude, the customer is always right. especially when they have a table of 12. I was also looking over and didnt see her physically move anyone as she made it seem, all she did was rearrange the seating on her tablet. Someone needs to fix her attitude or get rid of her, especially when your customers are spending over $1000 in food and drinks. After we ordered the "family style" dinner, was when the manager including that rude girl came to our table to check on us. I wonder if she thought at first that we were all splitting the check or getting cheaper items on the menu. I definitely wont be planning any more parties here. The host/planner ruined the whole experience as soon as I walked in. She was the girl with dark hair, a little on the chubby side.. was working the evening shift on 7/29/19. I wish i remembered her name. I also hope my tip went to the nice waiter and not her.

Had an awful experience there. They treat you like they don t care if you re ever coming back. The night club is really intended for people who want to show off how much money they can spend a night, or for clueless kids who don t know what the good night should be like.
Don t waste your money.

A favorite spot for date night - Nacional 27 does not disappoint. Lettuce Entertain You is synonomous with high quality food, and the only hard part is deciding what to order. I love the beef tenderloin medallions - you can choose from a variety of toppings. Also love the pumpkin and plantain croquettes, and a nice glass of Argentine Malbec. Plan on dining late, so you can stay for the salsa dancing!

I love the finger foods they have there, they kind of expensive though. I also love the Dj ambiance. Must of the music they play are Latino music. If you go there, better know how to dance salsa, chachacha and meringue. It is very crowded on weekend and you need reservation to have a table there and it's has to be before 7:00 pm. If you go there at 10:00 pm you will pay a fee to just get in.

I love this restaurant and the food was fantastic.The service was outstanding. I can't wait for my next visit.

Nacional 27 was the venue for our wedding, and we could not have been happier! They provided so many things that made planning the wedding easier for us, including food, drinks, seating arrangements, table numbers, DJ equipment and lighting, a fantastic dance floor, friendly wait staff, and helpful day-of wedding planners. The food was wonderful, served family style so each guest could try a variety of dishes. Natalie and Allison did a wonder job as planners, they worked with us before the wedding to get all of the details in order and made great suggestions to make the most of the space.

Food was awesome and service was fast. They have good deals most days. The tacos are delicious. Smaller place so it can get crowded real quick.

I was wavering between 3 and 4 stars, because we had a lovely waitress, but I couldn t give it better than 3 because there are so many better Mexican restaurants all over Chicago. Really even 3 is generous....

My margarita (the promoted house cocktail) was served in a tall soda glass and tasted like flat lime soda. There was no way to enjoy the salt on the rim properly. I think this is the first thing Nacional needs to fix. Serve your margaritas in a proper glass!!

Our guacamole was fine, though my date s promises of table-side preparation did not come to pass as it was prepared in a kitchen... somewhere...

I didn t try their tacos or entrees, opting for two botanas: flautas and a tlayuda. I love tlayudas so I should have known better than to order one after seeing what the margaritas are like. My tlayuda was basically a matzo cracker covered in mole (which was quite good). it tasted better two days later when I ate the leftovers for breakfast with an egg on top. The flautas were a total disaster. The chicken wasn t shredded inside (just a single small chunk) and they had cheese- why? Flautas de pollo should not have cheese! But they were so dry that I ate two of the six pieces opting to save the remainder for my dogs.

So yeah, go to almost any other Mexican restaurant IMHO and you ll find better food.

Good food. Poor service. The club had good music, very good for dancing. The space should use some improvement.

Super slow bartenders, could take easily 30 min to get a drink

This is a restaurant/bar/dancing spot. The dancing par is kind of messy because it gets so crowded that you would be lucky if you could dance without getting hit by someone on the dance floor. Music is mainly latin (Merengue, Bachata, Salsa, Reggaeton, etc.), but sometimes DJ's mix this in a way that is not an exact genre, so it looses its rythm. I hope they wouldn't mix that much so I can dance like I'm supposed to, but it's just my opinion. A lot of people like it this way.

Fun spot. Go for the drinks and night out and eat somewhere else.

Don't know the food, but at night it gets wild and crowded with people dancing and having lots of fun!!

I ll start off by saying that I am willing to give this place a second chance, as my initial one was okay . We went with a large group for a birthday, where our food was preorder and was primarily tappas. Given we did not have free rein on the menu; I am willing to overlook the average tappas and items we had.

After dinner, many of us had the desire to shake our rumps and dance to the exotic flavors of the salsa. The dance floor was packed. So packed, that we were not able to make our way out. The atmosphere was lively, and it was good for a group dinner as a starting place for the evening.

Went for a girls night out...we appreciated no cover for ladies night HOWEVER we were vey disappointed with how long it took to get a drink from the bar. 10-15 minute wait for drinks at the bar, service is poor. Bartenders are tooter worked to be friendly. The dance floor was the highlight of night.

Not what it used to be. The place looks a bit outdated.

The 3-4 bartenders working Friday night - ladies night - were SUPER slow! Waited about 15-20 for drinks. Was unable to really enjoy our night due to poor bartender service. Dance floor was fun and we were able to have a great time dancing however the bartenders made buying a drink HORRIBLE. Hope they can address this internally because I'd like to visit again to dance but not if they can't improve on their service.

If you like Hispanic music and love to dance this is the place. Drinks are pricey like anywhere in Chicago.

Connor Maguire, thank you very much for your great hospitality, for taking care of us, a group of O'hare airport customer service. Food, music, drinks, valet parking, the security guy, all were very attentive. It was a positive experience we will be back definitely .

Still great after all these years! I hate going downtown but this place is worth the drive! Filet with chirizo hash and a mojoto! Yes please!!

The music was great... and that's where it stopped... I called prior to going and asked several people if they accept let us entertain u gift cards, even upon arrival I asked 3 different people if they accept the gift card. EVERYONE SAID YES. Until I walked up to the bar with my husband and we order our drinks when I gave the gift card as payment they wouldn't accept it.. Luckily my husband had a feeling this would happen so we had other methods of payment. Then when we left and got our car back from vallet they had stolen my bottle of Remy Martin I Bought for our birthday girl who hosted her party at nacional 27. First and last time will not be returning.

Fantastic food and a great place for a date night and latin dancing. If you are coming to dance you won't be disappointed, especially if you are a newbie like myself so no need to feel intimidated if you can't dance. Wait staff is awesome and so is the food.

I can't wait to visit this place again. While the portions are moderate, it definitely does not miss on flavor. I prefer my sangria a little sweeter but the corn con queso and the Peruvian skirt steak with potatoes, and their extensive cocktail menu is definitely worth another visit. Our party was over a half- hour late for our reservations, they still sat us and the kitchen doesn't close until 12. They also turn into a night club at 11 pm, so it makes the perfect combination for night life dining and eating. They also have excellent quick service.

A fun place to spend a birthday as you enjoy a few drinks and dance the night away.

Totally different from when I used to go years ago. Now a young crowd, very crowded and lost is classiness.

Has the private room for a party. Had a blast! Food was amazing and drinks were made perfectly! Great music too

Fun place when bartenders not rude because they are extremely busy. Not sure why they take it out on us we pay some of your bills hello smile sometimes
