The meal was lovely and, as a group of adults, we had a very enjoyable afternoon. But the salad I got was juvenile, to put it mildly. Really, guys, ifyou want to do well you have go the sxts mile

The food and the waiter needs training he forgot about drinks, he didn't give us napkin and no tooth picks.

Ok, Friendly and helpful staff, clean, but bathrooms could do with refurbishment. Get a room on the river side, worth the extra money.

Not a bad place at all. Easily accessible, excellent WiFi, breakfast was okay. However, it didn't meet my expectations in terms of the interior. Wooden furniture is quite old; not all the pieces of furniture as advertised were in the room.

It was an OK experience. It is a good hotel. Not sure how it was in the past ,but good rooms and good service.

Service not too bad, but food not good at all. Also not much options for seating in restaurant.

MyPond is a stunning hotel located an equally stunning area of town.

Lovely place. Rooms close to the entrance parking a bit noisy when people enter & leave late at nite. But enjoyed our stay & staff very friendly.

Never stayed in the hotel, but did experience the lovely breakfast! A buffet is R120 all you can eat, or a standard breakfast with coffee for R55. Was an enjoyable view and for a Saturday morning you are able to watch the park runners. Service was average, gentleman didnt seem to know the menu or give good service. Above all else, clean, good food, enjoyable atmosphere and a lovely day is truly the way to spend a Saturday morning in Port Alfred!

My stay at MyPond hotel was quite refreshing. The rooms were cozy and neat. The food was very tasty.

A lovely establishment where we enjoyed Christmas family lunch on the banks of the Kowie river. The food was tasty typically varied with household meat dishes and desserts and served by friendly staffers. Kudos to the front desk staff who made us feel welcome and comfortable. Book boat rides well in advance to avoid disappointment. Comes well recommended.

This was the second time we came to mypond. The 1st time was great this was horrible.
Our room was so dirty and coverd in dust.
Went to complain and they said they would clean it. They did not do a great job as they wiped the table thats it the bed and everything else was still coverd in dust not to mention the shower. Reception was not helpful either. Sp disappointed

Very friendly staff, great room appointments and very fast, free WIFI. Coffee station excluded milk, so we had to ask reception for some. The included buffet breakfast had a slightly narrower spread than other hotel offerings but was of good quality. My wife, 2 girls and I would stay here again.

Nice and delicious meals for the hungry on the banks of Kawie River

I felt at home. The staff is professional and very friendly. The atmosphere and ambiance was exceptional. The view from the hotel onto the river is tranquil and peaceful. In spite of Covid protocol the breakfast was executed in a way that was a feast to the eye. My compliment to the chefs. I will definitely recommend MyPond to all my friends and will stay there any time.

Just perfect home away from home, yet a beautiful hotel.

The perfect getaway

Excellent staff and the rooms were clean and very cosy. One of the best stays I've had.

We spent our anniversary/ baecation weekend here and everything was exquisite! From the room we got to the service. I love how most of the staff are well trained students . Definitely coming back!

Great service, one thing to remember is that it is a training hotel for Stenden University South Africa

This is the second time I booked accommodation in Port Alfred based on overwhelmingly good reviews online. BIG mistake.

Upon arrival, we already felt that the parking was unsafe, with suspicious car guards lurking around and a dodgy bar next to the hotel. Also, the hotel is walking distance from the taxi ranks. This was only the beginning.

Entering the hotel, we were overwhelmed by the amount of noise. There were men sitting at the outdoor seating area with cooler bags full of alcohol getting drunk. We then went to the pool area, only to see the same scenario. A bunch of drunk women in the pool and overbearing noise.

Outside the rooms were occasional chairs where more people thought would be a great place to have loud chats while their infants ran around screaming outside the rooms.

The room itself was not any better. We could hear EVERYTHING happening outside, including people in other rooms. Hardly got any sleep as the partying went on the whole night. Also, mould in the bathroom was quite severe.

Breakfast was less than mediocre. There were scrambled eggs floating in water which no one touched and the remaining sausages and yoghurt wasn't enough food.

We were then approached at breakfast by management to ask how our stay was. After explaining the situation, the lady made a joke and said we should've joined the partying if we couldn't sleep and showed zero interest in our feedback.

I urge anyone that values peace and quiet to stay far away from this place, regardless of what the reviews say...

Great room, very nice view from the room, loved the bathroom with the large bath, perfect place to relax, awesome staff, very friendly extremely helpful and really prepared to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, the only let down was the breakfast, it is really not the 4 star tourism rating standard.

The hotel and beautiful and has a great view to the river. It is neat and tidy, has professional trained personnel that is always willing to serve you with a smile. The restaurant also has a great menu

What fantastic value for money. The rooms, staff and food were all brilliant, I will be back.

Superb, clean and beautiful. I'm disappointed that it was fully booked and could not sleep in the hotel.

At first glance the hotel seems nice however it is not well maintained and found some staff members to he a bit abrupt and sluggish for my liking. First morning which happened to be on Christmas day, there was no coffee and the breakfast was a complete disaster. The room chair had stains and would do with a clean and to crown it all the shower had a water blockage and I had to use another room to wash the morning after. I would never consider this place again even if it were the last option available

Stunning establishment. Great service culture. Flexibility from all on board. Will definitely do it again. Meals are to die for.
