Friendly staff. NICE FOOD. CLEAN PLACE. NEAR THE RIVER ,THE VIEW IS PERFECT. YOU CAN ENJOY STAYING AT THIS HOTEL WITH YOUR FAMILY OR BY YOURSELF.

Clean and comfprtable rooms, air con did not get cold....and the pub that is in the same block has rowdy patrons till all hours of the night ...other than that great.

Staff friendly nice environment to relax and recharge

Facilities & service was good and hotel itself was very child friendly. Only discomfort I experienced was that they charged me for an additional night and in order to get refunded takes days. Corrective action & response time needs work & more attention to customers needs required.

Beautiful scenery. Amazing staff and the interior decor is simply stupendous to say the least.

What I experienced during breakfast spoilt what would have been a reasonably good stay. Firstly there was just two people looking after the entire breakfast area, one person had a student badge and the other doubled up as a barista, waited indefinitely for a cappuccino, never came.

Although there were quite a few tables available on arrival, none prepared. Had to wait for a while for a table be prepared. No cereal bows nor glasses for juice and water were available. When the bowls finally came, they were dirty and had to be taken back.

This is one the worst breakfast experience I've had in a hotel, 4 star hotel at that.

The blinds in the room let a lot of sun in, especially so that the room was east facing with a lot of sun coming in very early in the morning. Poor drainage in the hand basin, have to wait a good few minutes for the water to go down.

One positive was reception, the young lady was very professional and provided some information about the hotel and available facilities.

Facilities were absolutely off point. Staff are fantastic and so is breakfast. The eggs were perfectly done and each table has there own personal waitron

I would just recommend that you have your kitchen staff not eating and smoking behind that wall on the right hand side in front of your hotel. I think it is a fantastic concept training your staff while studying . It was a lovely stay. Thank you

Clean....relaxed atmosphere.....friendly staff....fresh food

On arrival there is a broken pipe somewhere on the street and it smells throughout the entire hotel, even when you're in your room you can smell it if the windows are open.

The reception and dining area are relatively nice, the only two places about the hotel that are quite elegant but the rooms are quite out dated. Carpets are not too clean, the cupboard where the fridge is installed is old and there were a fee coakroaches. The shower is old and has something like mold on it.

The windows are old as well and very dusty.

The hotel definitely needs some renovations to be quite honest, they can't be happy with the rooms they have. It has a beautiful view but some of the amenities really take awa the beauty of the place.

Visiting MyPond Hotel has really set the standard. After visiting many hotels in East London. None of them compare in so many ways. The reception, service and food has been outstanding. I recommend MyPond Hotel to anyone visiting or passing through Port Alfred.

Needs slight improvement on the breakfasts but otherwise good.

My pond in Port alfred is a lovely hotel on the riverbank. The room was big and well appointed with a comfy bed and a TV with 20 satellite channels. Our aircon was stuck on freeze the first night, but thats really the only complaint I have. We were comped a free breakfast both mornings of our stay, breakfast was a modest buffet of bacon, mushrooms, scrambled eggs and fried tomatoes as well as a selection of fruits and cheeses. Both nights of my stay there were parties going on in the vicinity but I couldn't hear it from the room so it wasn't an issue for me. 4 out of 5 because of the icy cold room the first night, otherwise a pleasant stay.

Scenic views and great atmosphere. Area to sooth your soul.

Absolutely amazing place and hospitality. My wife and I were blown away completely by the great service. We've travelled a bit and stayed at bnbs to hotels all over the world, and I'm proud to say, that this is one of the best places in the world to stay in. Most of the hotel's staff are run by students from the University in Port Alfred. The staff all round were extremely friendly to out 2 year old which helped in our experience being more pleasant. We had breakfast and dinner at restaurant and they were simply brilliant. The food was impressive and delicious. We had the best tasting ox tail and Lamb shank there, not forgetting an extremely well prepared breakfast. Thank you Stenden students. We definitely will be stopping here again.

The sewerage smell was terrible (certainly took my appetite away)
They had to close the doors and put aircons on...could not go and sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee... ( I don't recommend at all)

Pleasant venue on the bank of the Kowie river. Menu options are rather limited. The staff are pleasant and polite.

This hotel with its many trainee Hotel Management Students doing practical work never lowers their service levels and always treats the customer with excellence. Worth the stay on the river or having supper on the river banks of the Kowie.

Superb venue, right on the kowie river. Centrallly located in port Alfred. Staff are super helpful and rhe price very good.

Booked 1 night, came from PE just to hear they did not book us for the night and a new booking cost double the amount that was given over the phone so we left.

2 my wife asked for a cocktail (a) was in a wrong glass (whiskey). (b) ice was not crushed (not that it was asked)

The rooms and bathroom would have to be renovated, but everything was available.
The location as well as the food was excellent. The service very friendly, fast and correct in the billing

If you need to rest, this is a place to be, nice environment, tranquil and good river views

Checked in before the Christmas rush. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was truly wonderful

Thanks may I ask why the booking agents advertise hotels for 15-45% more per night then if I book direct? I tried to book last week but the company wanted R589.00 when I called your hotel I was told that a single room is much less about R489.00 as apparently you having a special for August. Unfortunately I was only in Port Alfred on business for 2 days from Albertan in near Johannesburg that is very far about 1489km if driving fast. Please let me know when next year you will have the months special

Had a great time at MyPond Hotel. The staff is friendly. The rooms are neat and cosy. The parking is close by and easily accessible. Definitely coming back back again.

Visited My Pond for lunch, with friends. There was a bit of a breeze, so we sat at a table inside. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive, food was very good, and the Chef came out to speak to us about the special sauce that she had prepared for us. All staff from Reception and restaurant were very professional. An excellent meal.

Highly recommended will add more asap. Great photos of the hotel from across the lagoon.

A great location and super efficient staff. The hotel appears deceiving from the outside, but once in is amazing. Clean and set on the river. We had a river facing suite which was really great - the breakfasts are not the standard and a great menu with interesting options available . Will recommend this hotel in port Alfred for a convenient , value for money hotel.

The staff is competent and profession. I received value for money. My 3 day duration with them was memorable. The place is clean rather neat. Good food and a variety too. The managers put their customers first. I would recommend My Pond to everyone around me

Very nice, staff are friendly and professional, beautiful place to stay.

What a fantastic little spot we found!! On the river, plenty parking, swimming pool and big cosy rooms with classy bathrooms. Be sure to take a walk around and discover all the funky little shops and restaurants close by. Enjoy!?
