Its an International airport, you can spend the time in Travancore Mall which is nearby to the airport. It's near to Technopark where you can find lot of MNC specially IT firm.and the new lulu shopping Mall is coming nearby the airport. Less traffic from kazhakutam turning towards the airport. The famous Kovalam Beach is nearer to the airport where the tides are low and a good place for the foreigners.lot of nice places you can find nearby the airport.

International Airport is amazing. Domestic needs to be improvised. People wait outside the departures ,with no chairs , it's quite difficult.

(Good quality airport). The city gets its name from the word, Thiru-anantha-puram, meaning the "Abode of Lord Ananta".The name derives from the deity of the Hindu temple at the centre of the city.

International Gate at terminal 1 and domestic gate at terminal 2, to continue your domestic flight you have to transfer by means of taxi to terminal 2 as the place not at the same building, have to move around 6 km away. The easy way is to get airport prepaid taxi. Their counter located outfront custom exit, pay around 250 rupee or abt 5dollars. Can get also a local sim card closeby.

Safe and secure. Clean and quiet for the most part. Security personnel and staff are very helpful. The airport's design is simple and appealing, however the internet design could have been worked on to make it a bit more practical. Overall, nice..

The international terminal is very well maintained. The airport looked quite empty; maybe it could be because I traveled late night.

Very small but efficient airport, the domestic terminal is pretty old but work's fine. Located very near the city, which is the biggest plus point over several other airports. The international terminal is very good, with very good passenger amenities. But with the ever growing passenger traffic, I believe they need start building a new airport around soon.

A fairly nice airport as airports go - interesting Kerelan architecture. As with all Indian airports, however, be aware and keep your wits about you!

Not as good as the Cochin international airport. It's just ok. There are many airport that are way better in South India.

World-class and easily accessible airports among capital cities in India. Very near to the city. However domestic terminal is comparatively far away. Lounges and eateries inside the airport are less. Crowded during early hours like from 12 AM till 6 AM.

Although Trivandrm the capital city of the state, it lacks a good airport like Cochin. This airport is ok for the international passengers . It lacks enough services for domestic passengers. To reach here is so simple as it is on the heart of the city. I am sharing the night view of airport

Vast area for car parking. Good service from the airport authority. But the cost charged for refreshment is higher.this place is located near by shangumukham beach .clean and neatness is maintain in the airport .

Very untidy and full of mosquitoes. It is so pathetic that such a place where so many peopyare coming and depending these regulatories are keeping it unhygienic and such a shame for airport authorities.

The airport was established in 1932 as part of the Royal Flying Club under the initiative of Colonel Raja Goda Varman, Consort of Rani Karthika Thirunal Lakshmi Bayi, Rani of Attingal and of Travancore Kingdom.
Raja Goda Varman, a trained pilot, felt the need of an airport to accommodate Travancore in the aviation map of India and requested the Travancore Durbar to initiate the process for establishing an aerodrome. A detailed report was made and presented to the King by Consort Prince in this regard. It may be mentioned that the King was the brother of Colonel Raja's wife, and the colonel's own children were the heirs to the throne.

In 1935, on royal patronage of H.H Maharaja Chithira Thirunal, Tata Airlines made its maiden flight to the airport using DH.83 Fox Moth aircraft under command of India's first pilot Nevill Vintcent carrying Jamshed Navoroji, a Tata company official, and Kanchi Dwarakadas, commercial agent of Travancore in Karachi, with a special mail from the Viceroy of British India, Lord Willingdon, wishing birthday greetings to the Maharaja.
The first flight took off on 1 November 1935, carrying mails of Royal Anchal (Travancore Post) to Bombay.

One of the oldest and beautiful airports in kerala. Neat and clean. Not too crowded

Sadly not much development.
The roofings are leaking in rain.
Not much crowd usually.
There is a parking .
There is low floor AC bus service available from here to other cities.
Beware of Porter's who will help you even though you didn't ask , but at the end they will demand money from you.

Who ever sitting in the parking toll gate please i ncrease there salaries otherwise they will become big beggers big shame

They have renovated this airport very recently and it was very awesome it was in international range stand under construction was so good and the people working here are so friendly the process of very quick even the luggage you will get it very soon and the luggage will arrive in a timely manner it was service true mostly all over the world and probably you can prefer flights for Gulf countries most of the travelers will be moving to Gulf only from here and the bus stand is near to this airport only it will be around 4 to 5 kilometres from here outside the airport there will be auto services and it was governed by government so I can trust Dum

We had deboarded at the domestic terminal and boarded from the international terminal next day. The international terminal seemed very new and well managed. We had minimal waiting times during immigration and security clearances. There is a lounge as well in the boarding area to get good food prior to boarding. The terminal seemed quite big for the footfall during our flight. The convenient location of both the domestic and international terminal wrt to the city was a big relief since we did not have to travel far to find good lodging options.

not sure as to what to write except that buy edibles/snacks before you get inside and wait for your flight... variety and options very little.

If you are entering airport compound for dropping off or pick up passengers on taxi cab you have to pay entry fees.

Private vehicles no entry fees,

Suggestions

avoid these entry fees, this fees is an extra burden for passengers

Fees collecting staffs also behaving very rudely.

If staffs are collecting fees from taxi cabs then what extra previlage or service or facilities are providing.

Demanding money just for dropping and picking up of passengers is un ethical.

If you dont like too many vehicles entering inside airports compound you better arrange a transportation from main road to airport gates. Then ask passengers to use that system.

Without doing anything and collecting money for no reason is acceptable.
