Many history many school groups in weeks, Tuesday of course is closed to the public for the maintenance of the site but at the moment the roof of the site is damaged on the roof it is unfortunate

Main gallery of Rouen. It is a neoclassical building of great beauty. Inside, it houses a good collection of Gothic and Renaissance paintings, especially. Although, without a doubt, the main masterpiece is the painting that Claude Monet made of the cathedral of Rouen, within a series of several equal prints, playing with the chromatic variety of the building at different times.

Very nice museum. Impressionist collection worth the trip. Clear, legible and detailed comments and explanations.

As a local, I would suggest to visit this museum. The entrance is free. You can even put your coat and bag at secured lockers and enjoy visiting the museum with a tranquility. Most of the collections are religious arts, but there are also some impressionism arts (from Monet) and other artists.

For a 1st in this museum beautiful visit .. the entry will enchant you with gigantic paintings .. Monet, Modigliani etc without forgetting reconstructions in very realistic model .. At the end, just to prevent the sensitive souls the dead Christ, that they put on a chair ..

The museum is very large and contains several masterpieces, some of which are Italian (Caravaggio etc ...) so take into account at least a couple of hours of visit. The good thing is that the entry is free. If possible, take audio guides that will also help you unravel the multiple rooms.

Very nice collections and free access to permanent enough varied to return several times with pleasure.

visit nice. full of things to see .... a downside all the same: some wings of the museum closed for lack of staff !!! while the "guards" are kindly discussing their RTT and holidays ... difficult as a job. we are not PTT yet ??? !!!

I expected more. For those who call themselves the second largest museum of Impressionists in France, it is quite disappointing.

Collection abounding, museography dated: no red thread, random classification. A museum that deserves a lot of sorting and museographic upgrade.
However, admission is free! A real plus.

Many paintings by painters famous all over the world, the area dedicated to Impressionism is beautiful.

Very nice museum in Rouen, well located with beautiful exhibitions. Currently, there is the temporary Picasso exhibition. I recommend!

The Museum of Fine Arts of Rouen is a cozy park. The museum itself has a beautiful collection from the Middle Ages to the Impressionists. More than worth visiting.

Inhabitant of the city center of Rouen, to have free museums all throughout the year it is just excellent. But I admit that I have a preference for beautiful building beautiful arts, works of all kinds. After a toboggan ride in green square with my 2 year old daughter we always finish the day in the museum.

I was able to accompany my grandchildren during a workshop around the exhibition Braques we did not see the time spent the activities offered and the explanations were of quality the host very kind and more handi-accessible to remake

Great place of the beaten path, if you are passing through town. Equidistant between the station and the famous cathedral, this museum is not to be missed. Prepare to speak French as staff did not speak English there, but they are so cordial.

Very beautiful museum in the center of Rouen, a very pretty building juxtaposed with a pleasant garden where you can eat or rest, the free permanent exhibition is well filled with many works.

Beautiful place to discover, always discovering new artists

Free space ... catering possible, but this last Sunday: 4 savory plates and 4 parts of pie ... Not available because reserved at 1:30 p.m. .Out few people in the place ... So average as a welcome .. !! The idea was to take advantage of the interior living room with a meal then to feed on the different paintings on two levels particularly centered on the style 15 and 16 th century.
Pity !!

Would have been five if the toilets had been serviced regularly. Other than that a good gallery and good service and staff.
