This is my third year at Muirwoid Apartments and I'll continue to reside here, The atmosphere is naturally beautiful, peaceful and secure. The staff is attentive and understanding. Its always a pleasure to see Lisa smiling and welcoming anyone that steps into the office. My favorite part is whenever there are any issues, the comfort that Brandy gives is very comforting especially after a long day at work, Thank you Brandy. Thanks to maintenance who always gets things done on time.Looking forward to a few more years.(E.B)

I lived here for three years, I should have moved after the 1st year. they never return your deposit, I know so many people who this also happened to. I moved out with a clean apartment. I even had a company professionally come clean my apartment the day of move out , it looked New. everything was in order. I traveled most of the time and year. I was home maybe 6 days out of the month. there was no need for me not to be refunded my money. My deposit is $1400
The rent is extremely raised higher each year. My rent went up a $105 last year. there are so many nice apartments in the area that are very nice. I just recently moved, I can not support this establishment. they are all about the money.
I moved in MARCH 2021 I will share the good first: the property seems safe and the gate entrance staff does a very good job with ensuring safety of incoming traffic. Next if you get an apartment with good windows and a view it s beautiful. Don t get tricked by the view though.
However, I gave them 2 stars because the property is old, outdated, and most EVERYTHING was broken in my apartment on my move in day. The kicker is that they didn t show me the apartment I was to move into prior to my move in. I was only shown a beautiful model and told that the apartments had the same lay out which is very misleading. They also only hand you keys and tell you to find your apartment on your own. Upon check in of my new apartment: chipping paint, nasty bathroom tub, oven still had grease from prior tenant, broken dishwasher (it spilled water everywhere when it was turned on and they tried to fix it 5 times before determining that they d have to replace it), broken balcony banister, oven hood falling off, balcony handle broken, poor patched wall cracks, broken closet door, old carpet (causes a weird smell), and the office staff; well very unprofessional depending on who you get. However, they came right away to try and fix everything (even though the maintenance guy got caulk on my couch from trying to repair cracks in the wall) but I was also very vocal with my disappointment. Bottom line is that the apartment wasn t turned over properly. I would have moved out day 1 if I hadn t had only a 6 month lease (I m buying a home). Nonetheless, If you re looking for something long term or more updated and high end at the cost LOOK ELSEWHERE and pay the extra $$$ if you can. This isn t it... the price only reflects the location, and school district
Truly some of the most dishonest and misleading people I've ever dealt with. During the move-in process they will say one thing in order to get your deposit and signature to begin the application, and once they've cashed the check will then move the goal posts to increase their payment demand. After reviewing and approving all the initial documents and getting my signed application and deposit, they then informed me 2 days hence that the deposit would be triple what was represented during the sales process.
They also have a habit of saying nothing to you if there are any problems, and then post dating letters to extract maximum late fees from you. Why not just call someone immediately if there is an issue, and allow them to come in to review before outrageous fines and penalties accrue? Any honest person would simply pick up the phone.
The places themselves are reasonably kept up, though I have heard stories from others that would disagree. To me, honesty and integrity are the single most important element of any business relationship, and for that reason alone, therefore I cannot recommend this as a place to live.
Muirwood used to be one of the best apartments in farmington hills but now it is one of the worst. My family is really struggling at the moment. We are in a one bed room apartment and we are paying around 1100 excluding any utilities as rent but still whenever we need help they wouldn't listen to us. Recently our A/C stopped working properly and we had called them multiple times but they wouldn't listen to us. The A/C is very old and needs replacement but they don't care, all they want is your money. We have been paying electricity bills in excess of 250 dollars for few months now. We have called them several times and left hundreds of voice mails but all in vain. I would advise everyone to better go with other apartments in farmington hills which are cheaper and well maintained. HORRIBLE APARTMENT.
Disgusting maintenance. Takes forever to fix things. No one responds when called on the Services office number. The Main office people put us on hold and disconnect the call after a while. I don't understand why people have so much trouble to do their own job. And don't even ask me about Move-in condition of the house. They give the house in a most gross condition. Are you Moving in to this community soon? Be prepared to clean your house upon arrival...!
Worst staff they just behave rudely and don't even bother after staying for 2 years. They just say get out we don't mind.Increases the rate rapidly for even a single bed room apartment.
We moved in to the apartment a month ago and I am regretting my decision.
I can't speak for the apartments at the main property since I am living at the side property(Enclave). The walls in my apartment are quite thin and doesn't seem to have adequate soundproofing construction. Normal walking from upstairs neighbor sounds like someone is stomping on the floors and causes vibration in the light and other such fixtures. I have rented a few downstairs apartments over the years and it was never this bad.
The management has so far not been able to fix this issue. They won't allow to transfer to another apartment or move out without paying the transfer fee or lease termination fee which comes to around 2 months rent as stated in the lease agreement.
If you are moving here, make sure you check these things beforehand and not make the same mistake that I have made.
I have never lived in this complex or know where the hell it is at and yesterday I got a bill in the mail for 932.00 from a bill collector for a apartment that I never lived in. I have a home in Flint for the last 10 years.
Poor management, maintainance is by far the worst in Michigan. No response to any problem , been out of heat for like 13hours. No one to come and fix it. All you get is ridiculous bills
Community is organized well. Agents are firendly and helpful. Location is good, and apartment layout is good. Price is fair. Only downside is that the building is aged with noticable wearness. Recommend to stay!
When they say, "These apartments go fast", they aren't kidding! The leasing consultant, Wahab, worked hard to help me along as quickly as possible. Having lived in NYC for over 10 years, when someone tries to move you quickly, it's usually (in my experience) to put something over on you. NOT in this case! I waited until the next morning, after I spoke to him, and the apartment was gone! He did try to warn me. Thankfully, there was another apartment only a little bit more expensive and an even better location available and I wasn't about to let this one go. Wahab was incredibly helpful, very kind, and made sure to walk me through every step of the process with patience. He even gave me some names of companies in the area that would help with my move. I've never had to shop for an apartment solely online before. I was starting to get frustrated with the process until I heard from Muirwood. They were quick to respond and tremendously helpful.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! I was interested in these apartments because I have a friend who used to live here and I was drawn in by the amenities: pool, workout room, tennis courts, and sauna (which is non-functional, but no one would tell you that btw). The property looks nice, but that apartments themselves are GROSS! Cracked molding, bugs: bed bugs and cockroaches, cracked floor tiles, sloppy caulking, and the apartments smell terrible! The model apartments and pictures online make Muirwood look amazing, but it is far from being anything close to that.
The staff is dull, dismissive, and rude. I toured with a leasing consultant he had me wandering around the property for about 3 HOURS. He would not listen when I said I needed to hurry. I missed other appointments I had set up at other apartments that I m sure I would ve been more interested in because he was so slow! Unfortunately, I also encountered staff in the business office: ignorant simpletons who run around like chickens with their heads cut off and get mad if you have questions to ask them. They do not care about their residents or potential residents AT ALL. I m sure that if there are any good reviews for these apartments, they are fake reviews that the management made up. I m sure everyone that lives here regrets their decision, like my friend said he did. If you are thinking about moving here DON T.
Nice community. Close to many things with some level of security. Maintenance service takes a while, and they have way too many rules that they enforce rigidly. It would be nice if they enforce them while meeting their commitments properly. An example of this is that it takes then 1-2 days to fine you for leaving your bicycle on the porch but you have to chase them for 3 weeks to fix your washing machine.
Some of the neighbors are not very friendly or considerate like having too many visitors or having loud conversations in the bedroom on a work night till after midnight. Some would even bump shoulders with you literally as you walk through the door.
When they were cleaning and fixing the apartment above me after the tenants moved out, they ended up clogging the pipes and leaking water from the ceiling that nearly flooded my apartment and they couldn t get a plumber in for 4 hours and the cleaning lady upstairs wouldn t stop using the drains because she was on a schedule. She didn t care that she was flooding my apartment. I put my kayak and bicycle on the porch and went to get the car to load them (my assigned car port is far which they did not disclose) by the time I came back, I had a warning threatening me not to store things on the porch or I will be charged $50 per violation! I was away for 10 minutes! My neighbor didn t pick up his car sticker for his new car and the almost towed his car away!
And the newest absurd thing they announced, don t call maintenance for clogged sink or toilet and call a plumber and have your issue serviced as there will be damage fees assessed to your ledger if our staff is called to repair the issue. Why are we paying to rent if you will charge us for maintenance? Why even keep maintenance staff. I have rented with many communities over the years and Muirwood is the most absurd.
Also, 1 bedroom apartments are not allowed dogs.
They cannot keep a proper schedule or notification. They send emails saying closure or maintenance coming up, then no one shows up for days or weeks then they show up unannounced and pretend they are on time. They opened the pool late in the season only to close it a few weeks later for maintenance only to never reopen it for 6 weeks!
There is a new neighbor who is smoking pot in the building and makes the building stink. They emailed a warning saying this is a violation of the lease and to contact them for further complaint. Their reply to me was go file a police report and bring it to us because we are helpless to enforce our own rules and lease.
Motorcycles are not allowed in premises. You are not allowed to drive it, park it, store it,... basically if you own a motorcycle, find a storage unit off premises and park it there. In essence , if you have a car and a motorcycle, you will have to drove your car to get your motorcycle.
This is very unfriendly, unprofessional and intolerant complex. Their services are bad, their rules are absurd and they will charge you for every little thing. Unless you have to, don t live here.
I moved in last week and have had a great experience. The leasing team was very professional and made my relocation very easy. We were able to complete everything without actually coming in since we were moving from Pie Town, New Mexico and when we arrived the apartment looked better than the pictures they sent me. So far I am very happy.
Extremely hopeless place.Leasing office is just terrible . Rent amount paid is just not proportional to the service and community structure.Noisy neighbors , poor maintenance and on the top of it too pricey to the kind of community it is!! Much better places in and around farmington than this ....
It is a great experience to live in these apartments. Very responsive office and a very comfort place. What makes our family every day happy to see, is Martha Cruz-Guevara. She is the loveliest person in this community. A welcoming smile and a very friendly language. All the employees are good, but she has something special that makes our house to feel like home. Love and respect! Shkembi family.
They will trick people to sign the lease by showing wrong layout and once you sign the lease there is no going back.
Details: I have checked online for a preferred layout and filled an application. After 2 days they sent me a lease agreement online within 24 hrs time limit to complete. When I asked to show me the apartment, they refused because people are still staying there. But they showed me the layout and model apartment and confirmed that my unit will be exactly same as the one they are showing. I signed the lease and after that I figured out Layout doesn t match the room, there are less window and structure is different. But when I complained regarding that they tried to give me other apartment which is way costly. They gave me two options 1. Live in the suffocating apartment which they tricked me to sign with wrong information. 2. Take an apartment with bumped up price than what before.
When I asked for 3rd option and not take the assigned apartment or any apartment in the complex, They refused to return the money they took during the lease sign.
Everyone from top to bottom are liars or will hide the truth until they get your money. Customer are just some money machines and not entitled for any basic rights. They are running a CON where they will find a loop whole and try to manipulate and exploit you if you are not careful.
I would give a lower rating if I could, and you could not pay me to live here again. If you move in here you will regret it immediately. I wish I researched more and avoided this place, but time was not on my side. You have been warned.
This place traps you into the leases. You will have to put a deposit down, but they will not provide you any details regarding the lease until you can no longer get the deposit back. And you will not get to see the unit you are renting beforehand. So you can either forfeit a ton of money or continue with the lease. Once you finally get to read the lease, if you have any questions, good luck getting any answers. The office staff is friendly, but not knowledgeable and will likely not be able to help. It seems only 1 person knows enough to, sort of, answer your questions.
The condition you will receive the apartment in is an absolute joke and the rent is way too high for what they provide you with. I had typed up 3 pages in Word with a list of all the damages I found.
I did not have hot water in my shower for about the first 1-1.5 weeks after moving in. The sliding door did not lock. the entire bottom half of my screen was broken. There were dog bites on my blinds (yes it is just cosmetic, but is trashy). Just seems like they should have actually inspected the place before renting to a new tenant, but what do I know. They should be embarrassed, but nobody cares.
The maintenance is terrible and will just close out simple work orders without completing the work. I think I put in 3 work orders for the same issue.
They pretty much discourage you from having a bike, unless you store it in your apartment, because it has to be stored on a bike rack, which by me, they only have 1 rack for about 20-25 buildings that is designed to holds 2 bikes (possibly 4 if arranged correctly). And you will have to walk 5 minutes just to get there. Then since there are like 25 bikes just laying on the ground near it, good luck actually using it.
There are very odd rules that just seem ridiculous. I have provided just a few below, but there are a lot more besides these. *They generously allow you to have 2 flower pots...but only 2. *You cannot have any wind catchers or anything that hangs *You are not allowed to have a welcome mat outside your door. If you do not obey, they will come take them from you.
The only good thing about this place is that it is located in Farmington Hills, which I feel is a very nice area, despite this community being located here.
I really hope that there is a 0 rating for this community as well. I have been living in this community for more than 5 years. Maintenance has been the worst. THE WORST. I have never had this experience in any other apartments I have lived in. I've used online maintenance request and the next thing you know it says completed when the issue is still an issue. I have a sink that has been leaking for 2 months now and I've requested multiple times with maintenance and has not been fixed until today. The community and living space you get is not worth it with the service of maintenance you get from the rent you pay monthly. Nothing has improved from the day I rated this community 3 years ago. Feel like it's getting worse.
Bad staff, bad maintenance, the apartment is so old. You could hear every step from your neighbor movements. When I moved the told me the carpet is new ,then I discovered that it is nine years old!!!!!. Do not believe any things from them. They just tell you good thing to make you move in.
It is not only beautiful or safe! Apartments are spacious, kitchen especially is huge. Staff is friendly and they accommodate dates for residents. The community is friendly and one can explore the indoor/ outdoor pools and the signature train of the Muirwood community in Farmington Hills.
I don't think you could find a worse leasing/business staff! No consideration towards anybody's time or special circumstances. I would NEVER recommend Muirwood to another person, let alone a friend.
Never ever recommend to visit this place if you are not resident. I was guest trying to visit a friend during daytime only. The lady at the gate was so rude to talk as if I am there to damage the property. She wanted to show id on the camera and I had no issues in that. I can understand because of covid she must be taking care of to not touch the id.
But then she took id from me to see my last name. Guys, be consistent in what you want to do with proper reasoning. Being rude will not solve anyone's purpose. Don't cover your mistakes behind the name of "property policies"
I had this treatment for the second time. I was also resident here sometime back and have no better experience as such. Look for other properties and better avoid this one if possible.
he entire community looks nice from the outside, but the service is terrible. The maintenance service can be delayed for weeks and their 24 hours emergency maintenance is a lie since they said the emergency defines case by case, so long you won't have a life threat, it is not an emergency case. My heater never got fixed when the night temperature is below 55 and they said it is code but your case is not an emergency.
If the auto-payment is not completed, they will send you notifications by mail through post office and charge you late fee within 5 days, usually you won t be eventually be notified until you pass the final deadline.
The worst ever, it seems that all they really care about is the rent money. They have the worst Maintenance Ever. I live in a handicapped unit, they dont salt, or shovel the unit, the parking lot is a sheet of ice. In order to get my son who's in a wheelchair to the school bus safely I had to go out at 4:30 am break and shovel the ice. In the process of doing this I fell and busted my wrist open....I have a uneven crack in the cement of my patio that I've complained about going on 2 years not fixed in the summer of 17 my granddaughter broke her toe I have not been able to enjoy my living arrangements in the summer, the window in the front bedroom leaks and still nothing even after informing the staff of the possibilities of mold with my children having CHRONIC LUNG DISEASE. THEY DO NOT CARE and when talking to someone in the office all you hear from them is "WE UNDERSTAND " when in reality you dont
PLEASE BEAWARE OF THIS APARTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe, this is one of the worst apartments in the whole world. After moving out they tried to rip me off $3850 in the name of property damage and insufficient notice. I was charged in the name of damages that were pre-existing. Due to the COVID, I called in leasing office and informed about my move out in August 2020 they told me that they ll update the move out information in their system. After moving out they sent me a notice saying insufficient notice and charged $1041.10 for same Please do not believe in them, all lies and not supportive. Forget about the security deposit, even if we handover the unit in the same condition anyways, they will charge us only. I want to take this matter to court and consumer department. Its total rip off, ridiculous and unethical. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone.
I m a Current resident. Find Maintenance a major concern, the Maintenance online portal is hopeless (the request gets deleted, overridden and claimed complete when it s not the case). Also things like HVAC is considered a LUXURY. Irrelevant and sometimes meaningless rules are forced on residents when the critical ones for the well being of the residents are ignored. The deal breaker for me is going to be the maintenance issues and the responses to it, considering the high rent in muirwood compared to other apartments in this area.
I received my keys Saturday, today is Tuesday and I want to move! Touring a model apartment is deceptive, the actual apartment is totally different. I asked could I see the apartment prior to committing to an apartment on the application and prior to me giving them my money, but I was told I could not because it was not ready. I shelled out a few thousand to them before seeing the actual apartment. Walked in and the smell was awful. The community is highly populated with residents from India, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but they cook with spices that leaves a smell in the apartment that can only be removed by a thorough cleaning of the carpet and painting the walls. The linoleum flooring in the hallway, kitchen and laundry rooms looks like they allowed kids to put it down for their shop class. It is peeling, cracked and uneven. The carpet has spots that are worn to the padding. The shower is so small I cannot bend over without hitting my head on the knobs and the shower door was filthy and toilets are the absolute worse. I know I am a clean freak but they did not clean the apartment thoroughly before leasing it to me. I believe that the reason they do not show the actual apartment before you add it to your application is because many people would not accept the apartment and once you sign that lease you are locked in. This is fraud and deception and I will prove it.
Also, during the walk through on Saturday with the leasing person I pointed out the issues she assured me it would be rectified on Monday and today is Tuesday no word no work done. This is fraud, deception, and a classic bait and switch and I will prove it.
Very good landscape within community and decent houses. Only drawback is no much fun activities to do inside the community. Walkable distance to muirwood shopping centre.
Even after I contacted them second time explaining the problem they still didn't help in anyway. They keep telling we have forwarded it to the third party for collection deal with it. Informing the responsible before giving it to the collections is what everyone expects at the least. You guys didn't seem like you don't understood the situation when we explained. Anyways I am hoping it doesn't repeat to others.
There was no zero star review, otherwise I would give a zero rating. If you have plans to move into Muirwood, please think again. The only advantage of being here is accessibility. We have been having issues from day 1, the apartment was not given to us in a good condition, the carpet was not cleaned, blinds were rusted and lots of dust inside the apartment, few lights were not working, the patio door was not opening and full of dust and bugs. We weren t even able to list all the issues in the move in condition checklist. When we contacted the office, they said all these will be fixed in the regular maintenance visit and we had to live with those for a while. We asked them to give us another unit on in a few days we moved to the apartment, and they were not ready to do that either. Now our apartment is flooded due the leakage from the water heater, we had to live with no hot water for three days. The issues list can go further but these should suffice.
Worst service. I requested to fix waste disposal in the kitchen. They gave me a quick reply saying I would get an assistance ASAP. However I ve got no service for over 1 week and during 1 week the situation got worse. The disposal is stuck and the water doesn t flow. Then, I went to the office and requested again. They told me they would come to fix the disposal tomorrow . But tomorrow for them didn t mean tomorrow. Very disappointed. Never recommend this apartment.
Read to get the real experience before you get locked in.
Absolutely terrible and disrespectful staff. Once you sign your name on the lease and give them the $640 worth of fees. You become less then human in the way the treat you.
I was giving the same speech as everyone who comes here. They make it seem like this a a nice place of business, but we paid for a 2 bedroom and signed the lease just for 3 days before our move in date for them to breach contract and tell us they let the old resident resign their lease instead.
Floor is broken and makes sound when you walk. Bathroom flush from your neighbour above you makes so much noise that kids are scared of going to bathroom
Recently moved to Michigan and I was looking for an apartment. When I visited Muirwood leasing office first experience its self was horrible. Leasing agent behaves as if she is doing me favour bytalking or answering my question. The worst, very rude and arrogant leasing office staff. I wish I would opted for another apartment.
Very poor service , created the service request on 14-June-2020 that my dishwasher is not working and till today 8-July-2020 no one has checked to see the problem , when I called the service department today they said they will do ASAP and failed to provide a ETA.
and this is what is written on their maintenance page "24-HOUR MAINTENANCE RESPONSE GUARANTEE The 24-Hour Maintenance Response Guarantee only applies to routine interior repair items. If a service associate does not respond within 24-hours of a request, the resident will receive a rent credit each day or portion of a day that exceeds the guarantee period. (*Restrictions apply)"
This place is absolutely awful. The staff at the leasing center/business office are extremely rude and not the least bit helpful, how they are doing anything other than flipping burgers is beside me. I have been counting down the days my lease is up. The most awful place you could live. Everything is old and out dated and in horrible condition. The pool has always been disgusting so I have never stepped foot in it. What a waste of money. The apartment itself is crap they paint over everything including the counters. SAVE YOURSELF THE HELL AND FRUSTRATION BY NOT MOVING HERE!!!!!!
Wahab is an awesome leasing agent. He made my mother completely comfortable with her decision to move from her house of 45 years into this complex. It's beautiful and she loves it!! Thank you.
Poor maintenance, Gave a worn out equipment and never came for replacing or repair. Charged us for already been damaged equipment as it was our poor maintenance. I would have given less than a zero if available. After a 15days of follow up with lease office staff we heard a reply you don t need a stove to prepare food, there are few other options as they don t care at all.
We have been here for two years. Our lease is due for renewal -- we are going to pay extra to live month to month until we find a place to move to this summer.
Everything is old an they do not fix things or do not know how to fix things. Our A/C is out all the time and all they do is put a band aid on it so they can leave. Then a day or two later the A/C is out again. God help you if your A/C goes out on Friday....you have to wait until Monday or even Wednesday for a visit from maintenance.
The service is very anti-resident. This comes from the management and trickles down to the employees. We hate living here and --- Can't wait to move out. Absolutely No Value.
I recently moved in. My movers couldn't fit my couch into my apartment. In a panic I drove to the office and told them of my dilemma. The maintenance man Austin helped my movers. I am so very grateful. Today the same maintenance man helped me to take out large boxes. I have an ankle injury and really appreciate the help.
Service is worst. Heater in my building is not working. Early morning i raised maintenance request. One of the office staff "Brandy Cooper" replied me with a number to call for service. We guys kept on calling but no one was picking it. When I call back to the office number, lady there was very rude. She told if I want heater I would have to keep on calling. When I told we guys are calling for last many hours and all the times no one is picking she rude answer was keep on calling. When I told why there is emergency option in online request then. She told she is doing favor to us that she is in office on weekend and she put the phone down.
Poor communication with staff in the office and residents. I found my car being towed away because they were repaving. We were never notified that we had to move our cars for this, and I was not allowed to park in our carport because that was also under construction. When I called the office to ask where i can park they had no idea why there was repaving going on and had no idea where I could park without threat of being towed. I was then hung up on by the office staff.
TAKE VIDEOS AND PHOTOS OF YOUR UNIT ON MOVE IN DAY AND MOVE OUT DAY. The unit I moved in to was in poor shape and no repairs were done when I specifically asked to have them complete before I moved in. Maintenance ignored my 7 requests for repairs. To top it off, when I moved out Muirwood tried to extort me $1000 for the preexisting damages. The charges were removed after I provided video/photo proof and said this will be taken to court if not fixed. This is the first EVER Google review I've made. I feel obligated to warn others of this place.
I am living in muirwood since 2 and half years. They have recently renovated my apartment and i was so exited. I heard many negative comments from the people who were not muirwood residents on maintenance services, but with my experience I can tell that they fulfill the service on the same day you place the request. I am very much happy with the way staff treats the residents and with the way the maintenance services are been fulfilled. Based on my search with other apartments in this area , Muirwood is really the best.
Please stay away from These apartments, they can make your living miserable, they don t bother about your credit scores and blindly go aheagd and put invisible charges. I have an entire story to share. The staff is unprofessional, I moved out of the apartments couple of months ago before the lease ends on the basis of submitting my new job offer letter (which they had asked me to do ) so that they don't charge for my rent for the 2 months left over. I send all the letters and proofs, everything goes fine and I submit one month vacating notice. They accept it and I vacated the apartment at the end of the month. After moving out of the state they send some letters telling you have a lease buyout and should pay rest of your rent, I immediately gave a call to them asking about it, they go like the company is not in our list of corporate preferred when I am working for really big corporate company. They ask me to pay the rent as lease buy out which makes no sense completely because I was there for a month after submitting the offer letter and not a single call telling It not possible to move before the lease ends. They are just tying to pull cash for whatever reason, not even trying to listen to you...... what were they doing for month without informing ??? Not even by phone or e-mail??? I called couple of time and still couldn't get any help !! I wasn't even able to reach out the manager when I asked for him to talk about the issue.....
Not a good first experience. I got to be there in the leasing office by 5:45, saw a couple walking out with a leasing specialist at the same time for a tour. But I was denied a tour stating it's late. When I came out, I saw the same couple coming in completing the tour in a 5 minute window
HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. I stayed in the complex for 1 year and never had a pleasing moment. Getting through the front gate is not as easy at it would seem. Inside my home, every single closet door came off the hinges. The carpets were not clean at all. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY RACK UP LIKE $500 EXTRA TO EXTEND YOUR LEAVE FOR HOWEVER LONG
I haven't even moved in yet and they are making things so difficult; and after reading all the reviews, I regret my decision to sign the lease. The one and only reason I was moving here (temporarily) was because I wanted to be in the Farmington area, and this was the only apartment complex that had an apartment available at the time. I really don't want to take any names, but the staff has been generally rude to me, and I always have had to involve their manager to get any work done.
For starters, I have been calling them for around a week, asking if the apartment is ready yet. Always the same response : "They're working on it". I am moving in tomorrow and still I get the same response "They're working on it".
Firstly; my wife was visiting me from California, and I ask one of the staff members whether it was possible to show my wife the apartment day before I moved in. They say that my wife was "not permitted (yes, they used that word) to enter the apartment" because the lease is on my name, and they would have to charge me $100 if my wife were to enter the apartment. Wow, just wow. Fifth graders would do better admin work, Muirwood staff. I called for the manager who explains to me that they have 1400 apartments and they cannot work effectively resolving every single issue. Yes; It's not that they are unaware about their incompetency, its just that they're unwilling to do anything about it.
Secondly; AT&T dropped of my internet modem here two days ago (they shouldn't have but I don't expect better from AT&T). I was trying to reach them to see if the modem is in the mailbox or outside the door, as I am concerned, obviously. But here is their response: They will not tell me whether the internet modem is outside, or in the mail box, and neither will they let me come there and see for myself. I had to literally scream at the staff to get me to speak with their manager who eventually had the box dropped inside the apartment.
Thirdly, and this is the best one; One of the staff member tells me they only take rent payments online. And when I ask them where exactly do I pay (website etc), they say that that's not their problem. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Confused, I try and ask the same to the manager. She says that i can drop a check on the date of my move in.
I don't really blame the staff. They're incompetent, that's all. They are what they are because of people like us, who rent these 1400 apartments, who have no other choice but to make people like them feel entitled. My opinion of Muriwood won't change unless they're willing to change.
P.S. Muirwood: Since your calls are "recorded for quality purposes", please take the time to listen to those recordings and analyze what you're doing wrong, and maybe you won't get so much hate.
I have been living in this community since 3 months. Except for community and stores and restaurants nearby, this community is useless in its service. The management is rude, the maintenance is horrible. I had my AC repair sitting since a week and hardly they are showing interest to fix it. Stay away if you are planning to move in. I will anyway go out after my lease.
This is a 50 year old construction and not worth lot of $$$$. Management will go crazy on you with rent increase after couple of years. They believe in getting rid of old residents to get new residents with more revenue. maintenance is slow in responding. they will call you saying someone is on their way and they won't show up for 3 days to fix the thing. Office staff keeps changing and communication is broken down. Have to call the office 4-5 times before getting an appropriate answer from them. Lot of things are promised during moving in and very few are fulfilled.
Muirwood has the worst policy I've ever seen, the leasing agents showed only one floor plan for 2 bed 2 bath, when I asked to show a model apartment for the floor plan which I'm interested, they refused saying that they will only show the floor plan which they got not what we ask for. They asked to pay the security deposit $600 before I can see any apartment. then if we don't like that floor plan after we pay the security deposit the money will not be refunded according to the leasing agent.
Absolutely horrendous. For the pricey rent it has one of the cheapest and flimsiest furnishings. Things would break all the time- dryer, garbage disposal, doors within few weeks of moving in. And have had the most distasteful and atrocious experiences with the maintenance staff. Especially with an older man named MARK- the most RACIST and ignorant man I have ever met. Just assuming I didn't speak English fluently by my outer experience he yelled, "You're DISGUSTING, do you even know what that means?" This guy needs to be in JAIL. I did not feel safe with that man in the house and I will surely call the cops on on him next time. Ayser, on the other hand, was a very pleasant man. He deserves a raise. He went above and beyond to explain what was wrong and came prepared unlike MARK, who came unprepared (he came 3 days after diagnosing the problem even though he said he would be back on the same day), and every word coming out of his mouth were complaints and insults. This man is a "disgusting" man and needs to be fired.
So not pleased with Muirwood! I have been staying here since two years now and I wanted to extend my lease by three more months. They ve asked me to pay +500$ (+37%) to my current rent. How is this even reasonable? ADDING $500 TO THE BASE RENT! At times like these we need more understanding people in the community. They did not even for a second consider this request and talk about negotiation. It s sad that I have to deal with this and I wish none of you do. Unreasonable unreasonable unreasonable! I wish I could give negative ratings. Customer service and satisfaction is so important in these modern times but these people take advantage of our uncertainties.
EDIT: As asked by the owner, I reached out to them in the office and all I got was Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do . I have visited their office thrice, what a waste of time that was.
Unmanaged irresponsible apartment management. They start working on an emergency maintenance after three days of reporting the problem. They even dont like to hear your complaint patiently. Look for other options before you opt for this one.
I strongly agree with Lakshmi. I do not have kids but I do have a 26 inch bike. I am having hard time carrying the bike to 2nd floor apartment each time I take it down to ride. When I complained of unavailability of bike stand, management is suggesting me to move to 1st floor apartment. Do I really need to move to another apartment just because of a bike? I think this is totally ridiculous!
Update: Moved to a Terrace home now. We had to wait for 2 months to get the desired apartment. The apartment was not upgraded but management has prepared it to make it quite new. Now I love my apartment. But still have problems with the service department. They have lack of understanding of the problems and eventually they end up not resolving the problem. Upgrading the rating to 4 just because of my new apartment.
It is a really horrible experience from office managment for resolving missing vacume issue after staying in muirwood apartment over 5-6 years.
No response to the request over the phone or email even after frequent followup. After almost 2 weks of complaints when i called to enquired lady name "Mary" asking me a proof of having a vacume in my apartment.
As she came to know from vendor, the vacuum was not in apartment, does that mean vender was looking around my stuffs in my apartment in my absence ? When muirwood /Beztak arrange the vendor for maintenance are they not verified with their past records ?
I would definitely recommend my friends from muirwood not to allow any vender inside without your presence. As muirwood management are not taking responsibility if any valuable item is missing or stolen.....
Don't want to recommend anyone. If you want to waste your money and time, then yes this is the perfect place to choose. The Worst costomer service ever in my lifetime.
Poor poor poor customer service gate keeper wouldn't let me in because I forgot my license very rude very arrogant telling me to get off her property I do not recommend having anything to do with this place I hear the leasing staff are just as rude.
I reserved an apartment at Muirwood. My whole experience was handled by an excellent leasing representative named Kaine Marnon. I can't express the cheerful help that Kaine gave us.
I used to stay here from 2014 to 2015. I regret making my decision to stay here. I was impressed by the location initially and better commute options, however the quality of the apartment is super bad. The service request takes 2-3 days to resolve. I remember there was power outage and nobody from leasing office gave a damn when it was freezing outside. I would suggest you all not to rent this apartment forever.
p.s: Its been almost 4 years now and I decided to review this apartment, because my apartment was due for renewal during peak winter in mid-Jan and they denied my request saying my toilet was not clean. I had to move to a new apartment in below zero temperature with 48 hours notice.
My husband & I have been here for SEVEN years! We absolutely LOVE IT! If seven years have gone by and we've stayed there must be something great going on!! The Muirwood Maintenance staff have ALWAYS responded to our requests! We're both Seniors and have no complaints! It's quiet, the view is serene, & the area offers a great deal for people of all ages! GREAT JOB MUIRWOOD!
I WISH they would salt the complex ROADS in the morning. IT IS a sheet of ice! The apartment and grounds are beautiful but do NOT be fooled. The customer service from the bottom up STINKS. Please do not waste your time with this apartment complex. Even though we used a corporate relocation service I had to waste numerous hours in the leasing, business, and maintenance office trying to explain to the rude & incompetent staff the process. This is a high volume/low customer service complex. DO NOT RENT!
This is the worst apartment someone can live. They will never pick up your call. If you request any service request they will take more than 2 weeks to response and never reply to email. They have renovated the apartment will very low quality appliances which are not working from day1. As I am working as a contractor I lived in many places but this place is kind of nightmare . Stay away from here.
The protector of Muirwood apartment needs to come out and see what's going on management blames you for all the muggings and Urban Decay in their apartment building pathetic go-to-hell Sue
