The worst Muirwood Apartment Leasing office Staff. They will take care of you only till you sign the lease. Worst kitchen I ever had. No use of repeated complaints, they don't care about it. For extending my lease for 15 days, I paid $200 more other than my base rent. Irresponsible people. Please don't fall in this "PIT".

This place is going downhill! Very unprofessional and poor management. I called to complain about cars blocking my parking spot couple of times and no action was taking. Also, it looks like The caregivers of the resident underneath my apartment smoke Cigarettes and/ or MARIJUANA in the patio and the odor spreads throughout the building and your apartments as well. I did raise complaints with management, but they didn t care and no action was taking. They advised me to contact the Farmington Hills Police Department in case of future incidence. One of the assistant managers was extremely rude and hung up the phone on me.
The area, surroundings, apartment is quite nice. But the management and issues with leasing office are very irritating. We leased the apartment since a month nut still my name is not added up on lease. Overall management is very poor
This was the worst place I ever lived. Leasing office doesn't care for your needs, Emergency Maintenance takes around 1 week to get it fixed, and non emergency services takes around 4 weeks. !! U DON'T EVEN GET UR DEPOSIT BACK!! Trust me, you don't even get 25% of the total deposit which you pay.. It's better to choose a different apartment
Three words ....Don't move here! Low quality service, constant maintenance issues with the apartment due the unit fixtures being old and of low quality. One of the worst places I have ever lived in. Muirwood brags about luxury but there is nothing luxurious about the apartment living standards they offer. Was so fed up with this place after a year and half of living here, moved and they slammed with over $600 in fake charges that included a double coat of paint for regular wear and tear, reglazing an old chipped bathtub, and claimed they had to change the carpet. I had constant maintenance requests and some of them were never resolved. Shower head popped out twice, dishwasher didn't work well and felt out of the hinges and was never fixed, washer barely worked and ended up ruining most of my clothes due to lack of reliable wash. The unit had large spaces and gaps around the door which allowed all the smells from other residents cooking to sip in to the apartment. Leasing office staff were unresponsive to request and said they had lost a manager and all other kind of excuses...The only thing this place has going for them is the great Farmington hills school district othewise not worth the premium they are charging for these apartments. In desperate need of new management and enhancements. Move here at your own risk!!!
Great.I really love living in Muirwood. Its a great experience here in Muorwood.I have been living here for almost 8 years.Good to be in a gated community.
This place, by far, has the rudest, least helpful, and absolutely atrocious service and management you will ever know. We lived in Muirwood for over 2 years and the number of issues was astounding. When we first moved in, they were seemingly helpful.DO NOT FALL FOR IT!We had maintenance issues time and time again. Our doorknob on the front door fell off and they asked if the dead bolt still worked which apparently made it okay that we had no door handle?I went into the office 3 times for that same issue until it was finally resolved after 5 weeks. The next maintenance issue we had was in 2020 when our air conditioner stopped working entirely.I put in a maintenance request and they stated it would be about two weeks. This initially made me angry because it was in the thick of summertime and I was 7 months pregnant, but ok, we will wait. After 2 weeks, we contacted them again and got the same response. After 6 WEEKS, I had it.I went into the office building, during COVID and while 8 months pregnant, to see when they were going to have it fixed.I was told they weren t fixing air conditioning units anymore because it was September and if we needed heat, they could work on that. I was blown away.It was still 70 degrees outside, and it had been 6 weeks since I put in the request!!!I asked that our rent be adjusted but because it had not been over 85 degrees in those 6 weeks, they would not adjust our rent. Mind you, we lived in an upper unit, so it was HOT. Forget it if we needed to do laundry or cook it added a couple more degrees! They claim they have updated apartments when they are not. There were cracks in the ceilings, the tub in the bathroom never drained properly, the shower head was coming off the wall, the stand up shower was old, the windows made a screeching noise when you opened them, you had to use a little metal piece and screw it to the window if you wanted them to stay open, the neighbors below us stated when we ran our sink that their sink would overflow but Muirwood would not fix it.They also have a guy drive around in a beat-up, rusty, old, white van taking things from people s carports. We had an incident with a small grill being taken and thrown away with no warning. They claimed to have left a note on our door that must have blown away and sent an email but when asked to show proof of this email, we got no reply. This man also takes chairs, tables, and kid s bikes if they are left out (not ours luckily). They expect you to have nothing outside of what is supposed to be your home.To boot, they did not provide bike racks up until a couple months before we moved out.The sidewalks around the neighborhood are narrow so only one person can walk on it at a time.It seems like instead of paying a man to drive around taking people s things, they should focus that energy on fixing people s homes in a timely manner without making them beg. Upon moving out, we supplied them with our new address so they would be able to send us information regarding our deposit. They were supposed to send us an itemized list of damages they had found (if any) and what the apartment was left like.We took a video of the place before leaving to ensure we had proof.I reached out two weeks after we had left by email to see about our security deposit crickets.I reached out a second time crickets.I finally reached out a THIRD time because we received no statement, and by law if they do not give this to you, they forfeit their right to your security deposit.THE FIRST TIME I HEARD ANYTHING WAS AFTER A COLLECTIONS AGENCY CALLED US! By the third email and no response, I called Muirwood and they stated they had sent the itemized list and then verified our new address. If things do not get to someone s mailbox, they return it to the sender. This reminds me a lot of when they put something on our door and it blew away or the email they had sent us. Anyway, we will not be paying for the damages because we have proof of the condition the apartment was left in and emailing several times with no response. We will see them in court!
I have been living here since past 2 and half years. What I strongly felt is this community is not meant for those with kids...Because the management don't want see summer toys, bicycles, and other ride ons which are meant for kids to play outside the house. The management only wanted external beauty of the apartments, but not the joys and happiness of the kids here. In Michigan summer is only enjoyed 3-4 months, and the management is busy putting restrictions on each and every item during summer. If we are storing any HAZARDOUS items in the patios and carports, then I agree with management. But do you think kids toys and bicycles r hazardous? Also, the management should understand that the rent of the apartment includes patios, balconies and carports, not just the 4 walls. If they are keen on such things, then please provide a bike stand or storage places in the community where expensive bikes are safe.
We raised a request for carpet cleaning and paid $50 as required. However the person did not clean the entire carpet and said that they only clean the walkable area. The person was rude and it looked like that he was doing an obligation by cleaning it. We told him that we are not getting free service but paid for cleaning however he did not listen at all and said that we need to talk to Maintenance office as they are not required to clean the entire carpet but the walkable area. Just wondering if they have they have to do the jobs as they like then what is the point of charging the customer. Not happy with such a rude attitude. Better get the service from outside to get the satisfaction. To your question that he would not be able to move the furniture we offered him that we gonna do that but he was so rigid like he is doing an obligation on us even after paying the requisite fee. Not happy to speak to you guys any further in person as you have not been helpful. So putting this on public portal so that others can take informed decisions.
Community looks good but it is not a decent place to live because some residents smoke MARIJUANA in their apartments here and that odor not only stay in their apartments but also spreads throughout the building and your apartments as well. If you and your family are not comfortable with that odor 24/7/365 days, then you are better off moving somewhere else.
I did raise complaints with management, but they did not take any action on that complaint. Forget about taking action, after raising this complaint, they did not even send an email to the community/my building resients warning to stop smoking marijuana around community/building.
I like landscapes, walking trails, 24/7 security at the entrance of the gate etc. but, if living here is not comfortable, no pros outweigh the feeling of uncomfortable with marijuana odor. So, i cannot give more than a star rating.
I lived at Muirwood for a year. Moved here to be closer to my work and the location was great. Very close to downtown and to Novi and Twelve Oaks mall. Have no complaints from office staff. Didn't have any problems with apartment building or unit including no bug problems; everything worked great. I looked at Many other apartments before choosing Muirwood, and I have been very happy. My unit was clean when I moved in, and staff was very helpful. I was very happy with the Muirwood complex. Amenities were nice. I would recommend Muirwood to rent at.
This is first time i am posting a comment in outside forum s, Meuirwood the most worst community i have ever seen, we had many maintenance complaints, we raised a mutipl request and called multiple times, no one responded and if we go to the leasing Office the manger shout on us back, beware of this community, everthing is cheat cheat cheat!!!! And if you really want to come to this community, make sure you have to know plumbing, electric work etc to repair yorself your home.
I hate the maintenance team, they are very slow, they fix something and a month later something else come up. We have been here for about 2 years, and guess how many maintenance request I have submitted? 13. I have requested the replacement of some bulbs since a couple of months, we do not have light in the hall, just one bulb working in the dinning area. The exterior, gardens, buildings look very nice, the apartments they show you look perfect but once you move into your "new" apartment you start finding small details that later become a problem. Avoid this community, take a look at the rest of the comments and then you decide.
Application process was easy. Thomas was my leasing agent, and he was extremely helpful during the whole thing. Props to him.
Be careful! Make sure you do everything electronically and save your documents for them. After losing my move in check in list, they tried to stick me with several large items that were damaged upon me taking the unit. After back and forth emails with an account manager who was either quite daft or simply being insanely obtuse, it took having to quote MI statutes and discussing how to proceed in the courts before it could be resolved. Muirwood is out only for money, and they think it is all owed to them. Make sure your move in checklist is thorough, complete, dated, and turned in digitally and in person. Otherwise, C will try to stick you with everything little thing they can imagine.
Maintenance and management are nightmares. Depending on you who you get in the office, you have about 75% chance of dealing with someone who is either rude or disgruntled. On several occasions, I have had a maintenance request randomly cancelled with no explanation. When questioned, they either lied or never responded. Lord forbid you have the misfortune of speaking to someone in the business office. Probably 10% of my interactions there have ended amicably. I would not recommend this complex unless you really need to. Plenty of other homes and units in the area that are cheaper with nicer people. Maybe B and D had a rough day, but there is no excuse to straight up lie to a current resident, interrupt them constantly, and act in such a manner. Glad to be moving.
We have been from about a year. The Apartment is ok and livable but I cannot say the same about staff. Leasing staff are extremely rude. Maintenance requests are answered too late if at all. I called about a repair with my bathroom about 2 weeks ago but still there is no response. We had a lot of repairs when we moved in. We could not believe any one would rent it with so many repairs. When who checked it before it is let out. When we asked in the office every one was saying it was not me. We were so frustrated. This apartment is expensive than all other apartments around the area. If the staff at least tries it would be worth paying.
Very Very bad customer service. I spoke to anthony and some other guy later on the phone and he said there is a 2 bed 1 bath available and he gave me the apartment number 24107 and scheduled me for a tour on August 04 5:15 PM . I have leave the office to attend the tour so i did it but when i went to the leasing office the guy talks very rude and he said we dont have any apartment for you for specified dates even though they told its available and scheduled a tour. I mentioned them the apartment number which was told to me and all but they said you spoke to some customer service people and we dont care what they say,he said we are business office people and we are saying we dont have apartment for you.!! Hope they learn some manners!!
Such a bad customer service!! zero star service!! Hands down!!
The walls in my apartment are quite thin and doesn't seem to have adequate soundproofing construction. Normal walking from upstairs neighbor sounds like someone is stomping on the floors and causes vibration in the light and other fixtures. Quite frustrating, especially when there is a family with two kids living above you, and the kids are always jumping/running around.
I have brought this up to management asking for a transfer. I was told I can't transfer without terminating the lease.I believe they sent a letter to the neighbor, but that didn't make a difference. They should at least allow to transfer to another apartment in cases like this, or have a strict noise policy. Not looking to stay here once this lease expires.
The complex was very poorly maintained. Trash dumpsters were constantly overflowing. Upon moving from premises details were not disclosed as far as lease going until the 15th of the month. So after move out a list of charges in a resident was barely used 50% of the time were given . 15 days of rent went the key was turned in on the first. Vinyl floor damage that was not damaged by us which is being disputed up to and including going to court. Trust me don t let the fact that it s in Farmington Hills fool you into thinking it s a quality suburban residence . NOT
Pretty good apartment community with lots of issues and feel good environment. I stayed here in 2018. They have a beautiful community with nature complementing it with its beauty. However, They have a slippery roads during the winters. They clean or salt the road a bit late compared to what you should expect. if you happen to drift race your car without you even noticing it .Then, congrats. You got a chance to do so. I was shivering when this happened, then thought of having got a chance to do so.
Maintenance : They do try their best to help people out. It takes a week or less to respond but they do help. For emergency services : You need to call them example : When your heater is not working during winter.
Security : Extremely polite human beings at the gates. Its great except when you have a guest and they happen to interrogate them like they are a criminal. One of my friend was racially target when he entered the apartment community during late hours. I did make a protest with lady at the gates citing the same.
Rent and charges : It's too high for the place, however they cant be blamed. The michigan has really poor construction situation for new apartments that are being built. Almost all the apartment are super old in this state compared to new booming states and there are less number of good apartments for people to take. Beztak is doing its part . However, ignore it as long as you can afford.
Refund : I got all my deposit back except a 50 $ for some utility taken off.
I really hate this place, people and management are very uncared persons. I made a mistake coming here. The business management will not even take calls. I called them many time for atleast asking them the new address to transfer my DTE and consumers energy, nobody cares. The regional managers did not show any mercy on us for move in date for weekend, they also did not intimate me the move in date, how can I transfer all my stuff and transfer DTE and consumers energy in 2 days and that too durig weekday. My aunt is in ICU she has a bad health condition, I need to be there for her. They should show some mercy on me atleast during this time. I am very very unhappy with these people.
Very ghetto apartment building people outside selling drugs and gang violence here is Rife there was a murder here not too long ago believe it was a sacrifice for a gang
Too stressed staying here. Do not fall in this trap. Apartment appliances are too old and worn out. One of the worst maintenance I ever experienced, takes almost a month to get some response. They do charge you for work order requests (window blinds, light fixtures..etc). Many accidents within the community as they don't clean snow during winter. (If you want any photos I can share them. Poor appliances, winter accidents, poor house construction). If you want to test your patience this apartment is for you.
Lived in 5 Apartment Communities. Never left a negative review for any of apartment complexes. This has by far been the worst. I am glad that I am out of here. Never ever contemplate living in this apartment. Issues which I have
a) The staff are generally rude and dont care about the issues going on with your apartment. They are so rude that they literally state that" They dont care even if your apartment is on fire" if you ask them to address an emergency.
b) The same can be said of maintenance crew. They literally abuse the women when they are alone in the apartment. When complained to the business office absolutely nothing happened and they just brushed it away.
c) Coming to service, we literally had to stay with a bucket in our living room because of the water leak from above. This went on for 2 months where I had to call them, talk to them on numerous occasions to get it resolved.
d) Forget your security deposit when you are moving out. They would find ways to charge you the security deposit. I have never lost my security deposit in any of my previous apartment communities. They would take around 2 months to come up with a figure and give you a day to pay the amount. And ofcourse they will not discussions on the amount you owe.
Do yourself a favor. Do not even think about staying in this apartment. There are enough good apartments around this area which are far better than this "luxury apartment".
We are living in muirwood apt since 1year. It is the most beautiful, secured and well maintained apartment in this city. It is near to downtown and also just outside it's gate you can get a market complex with all daily needs stores like Busch's, Rite aid, restaurants (indian & middle eastern), Indian grocery stores, UPS, BofA, etc..etc. Here you can get a quality house with excellent service, well equipped gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, i.e. everything a luxury apartment should have. The most amazing thing is,the way it's management has stored the beauty of nature within it. I will highly recommend you to stay here. thanks.
My family enjoyed our stay in Muirwood community. I would like to thank Brandy and Dawn who where instrumental in providing the service on time. They where very helpful, pleasant and welcoming. I would surely recommend Muirwood community to my friends and relative. The service is really very good when compare to other apartments near by.
I moved-in just recently it hasn t been a good experience. I thought I did my due-diligence before choosing this apartment, and I read all these comments in addition to visiting and seeing the display apartment, and now, here I am writing my own review for the next person looking for housing.
My experience thus far: 1. It s difficult reaching anyone via phone even when you call the direct office line, you are likely to get your call diverted to the call center where you don t know where the person is that you re calling, and they know nothing. 2. The office is disorganized, has poor communication, and is not the friendliest. When they pick up the phone, it sounds as if you re a waste of their time. It s never helpful. 3. When trying to settle on an apartment, we asked for an updated apartment that was fully renovated. They said one was available and to put a deposit down with an application filled out online. We did just this. We were then contacted to email the information we submitted with the online application and then were requested additional information. We over shared information, which felt very intrusive. 4. Our welcome letter was sent and a move-in date established. Our old apartment was packed and loaded into a U-Haul. Upon arrival at Muirwood, they looked surprised we were there and said the apartment was not ready. We had to postpone all our other plans and make accommodations for their negligence. When the apartment did become ready, we asked for a walk-through before signing the lease and collecting keys since we got a feeling nothing was done to prepare the apartment after the last tenants. 5. This was a BAD idea! Walking around the kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc., we could immediately tell that these were OLD apartments. The plumbing is old, the fixtures are old, the washer/dryer have crank dials on them and are more than 10 years old. All the bathroom cabinets and kitchen cabinets are unfortunately disgusting and old. There are stains on the kitchen floor, and there are black smudges and marks all over the walls since nothing was painted when the last person moved-out. Nothing was maintained. The toilet constantly flushes, and the bath tub and shower handles are outdated and difficult to set hot/cold water with multiple knobs to adjust temperature. The A/C is not working, and the thermostat is old. 6. It s been disappointing, but we re looking to make the most of it. They said renovations will take place after our move-in date, so we have to unload all our kitchen and bathroom and be living here during everything. They didn t even accommodate for their mistakes and the fact that nothing was ever done to get this apartment ready. In its current state, it is not renovated, and that is what we are paying for what s funny is that each individual apartment is uniquely priced depending on demand and how long it s been available. Well, when we asked for some compensation for the hassle with the apartment not ready, having to change plans, and then to not have what we expected, they said no apartment could have their price changed. BS! 7. In summary you can find better. These apartments are OLD everything is just layered in paint to cover it up. Have a tour, ask your questions, see the apartment before you move-in. We were assured things would get fixed and updated after move-in, and so we went ahead with it but I feel it s too expensive for what you get. The age of any apartment is important. This was built in the late 70s-early 80 s. 8. Good luck!
We had an issue with our A/C and we received a quick and effective response from the Maintenance team at Muirwood Apartments. The issue was addressed by Pat Hinson, who was polite and professional. This was important for us, since cold days are around the corner, so kuddos to Pat and the Maintenance team, keep the good job and thank you!
If there is a zero star option, I would put it. The people who work in the office are more than bad and rude. They are just nice and helpful when you want to move in . As soon as you become a resident and want anything you will know them well and you will be surprised how much rude they are. They made the rent go up more than one hundred a month. All the other apartments make it high from 25 to 50 with carpet cleaning every year. But, Muirwood every three years the carpet cleaning or you have to pay. It is just beautiful from outside. From inside it is so old you could hear any footstep from the neighbour.
This place doesn't even deserve single star. Cheap quality for price. If you raise a support or maintenance request, they come after a week. Worst support team and worst GYM and all together they dont even have a computer for community usage for emergency for ticket print outs etc. There is no dust bins in the community, which is basic need. And also unfinished appartment before new tenant moves. Bathroom flooring is not perfectly cemented. Because of this ants, bugs crep in. All of a sudden water stops in the morning, may be while you are in tub enjoying shower. Until we go and consult leasing office, we dont the reason. When you complain, they say you can use club house any time. Should I walk naked from bathroom to club house ?. Have professionalism to sent atleast prior notice about issues.
The staff is extremely rude - both the executives at the front desk and the maintenance people. No one ever picks up the phone at the service desk and no one replies back if you leave a voicemail. Our heating breaks down regularly during winters and even after calling multiple times at the emergency number, no body cares to come and check or change the faulty part or whatever is causing the heater malfunction. We have been extremely patient but have had a bad experience over and over again. Will not recommend it to anyone.
This comment only applies to the application process. My family and I wanted to live here - this was #1 on our list. Our kiddo will be going to high school in Farmington and we needed to move in-district. We live in another district and commute her to school. Our current lease just expired and we needed to get out. I have been in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy for over a year - and it has been very successful. I have very little debt and only have a year-and-a-half left PLUS a letter of recommendation from my attorneys. My husband is not in the 13 with me. He was also the main applicant, I was co-applicant. After our application submission and $675 deposit and fees, we were given a unit and move-in date. A day later, I was called and told my application was denied by RentGrow so that eliminates us altogether. I called and left messages not only with the manager but their corporate office. NOT ONE CALL OR EMAIL BACK! We have EXCELLENT rental history and met all the requirements. They turned my application down because of a voluntary surrender of my vehicle 4 years ago, in another state, and which I owe no money on. Secondary, I saw it noted that we don't have enough income. $85,000 income a year seemed enough, and with no debt, what do I know! WAIT I do know - blessing in disguise - we will hold on to our money and buy ourselves a house! What a piece of work Muirwood is. Muir-wouldn't.
I wish there is an option to give 0 rating. It s the worst community I have ever stayed. I am happy that I signed shortest duration lease. They just collect money and don t even care what happens to their residents. Their maintenance team is the worst in the entire world. I would never recommend this community for anyone. Maintenance team doesn t even respond to calls or emails or even if you visit office.
We had a horrible experience staying in Muirwood apartment. We lived for one and half year and had many maintenance issues and most importantly these apartments are nearly centuries old and they are not renovated. We heard crackling noise all day and night from roof when someone walks. We had this issue throughout our stay. Interesting part is when I informed this issue to leasing office people their response = Since these apartments are old some crackling noise will be there and live along with it . I will never recommend someone to move into this apartment.
We called the property one day before to make an appointment, they said we could come anytime before 6.There was no appointment set! We were there at 5:20 mind you at this time we already looked at the model apartments and we were ready to sign the lease! We wanted to take a look at the exact unit we were about to sign the lease for!!Kane was very unprofessional and was soooooooo rude! We drove 5:30 hours from Indiana to see the apartment and sign the lease! He said we were late to the appointment (first of all we never had an appointment) he couldn t take us to the apartments that day with an attitude that was not pleasing at all!!!!!!! We still asked him if we could come on Sunday (next day)he said he was the only one who was working and he couldn t take us to apartments and we were supposed to look at the apartments from the outside and decide to sign the lease!!! Really?!! If this is how you treat people who want to sign the lease,I wonder how you treat the one s who already live in the apartments!! You can t take your anger out on someone who doesn t even know you ! Me and my friend both were ready to sign the lease for two apartments !! All because of that guy s behavior we didn t! Thanks for the true colors
TLDR: we called before going to the property to see the units available to us. They said we could. So, we drove 5:30 hrs to get there and they said they will not be able to show us the apartments. On top of it ,the leasing person was very very very very rude. Good luck to those who are still ready to sign a lease here!
Debbie is very rude. She is the reason why I am moving out. She has a I don t care about your problems only your money. I have seen her treat her staff like they aren t people. She talks about all these years she have in property management but doesn t do a good job at communication with us as residents about what s going on at the property. I m very unhappy with her customer service.
I've lived here for two years, but $1,100 for a 700 sqft one-bedroom is insane. The job market in Detroit isn't that good to be charging that much. Maintenance is usually responsive within a day, but the plumbing issues are horrible in my building. When the neighbor turns on the water it sounds like a tuba and the toilet backs up like no other place I have ever rented. The balcony also leaks water from above and the platform is slanted plywood with chipped paint that looks like garbage. The renovation they do is just basically budget cabinetry and replacement of appliances with the lowest grade appliances on the market. It's a quiet peaceful diverse community, but what they offer for the price isn't worth the high price. It would be better to rent across the street for 40% cheaper rent. The clubhouse has a very small gym that makes it difficult to use if there are a couple people using it. The swimming pool is decent, but the price isn't right and I'd rate this place higher if it wasn't so expensive.
I regret moving here. The repairs are slow and the walls are thin. It is not worth the amount of money that I pay each month. There are small children that run, jump and play basketball in their apartment. I have severe migraines and have to rent rooms when my migraines are severe. I tried talking to my neighbors but the issue continues. I spoke to management over 4 times and the noise continue. You typically have to call Management 3 to 4 times before they will even address your concerns.
Worst property maintenance, they hardly concern tenants problem. Ticket system is a real joke. Ceiling is making metal creek sounds in my bedroom whenever above tenant walks and I was told to get adjusted as it s a shared community, imagine the torture at nights. Will plan to move out soon
Our clothes dryer is not working when i gave a call to help desk to put in maintenance request she told sh e will put in request. After a week i went to office to check about my Maintenance request when they are going to fix the person at the front desk was there was no request placed. Its been 15days since it is not working and roads are not cleaned properly after snow. Maintenance is very poor.
I edit my previous review of 5 to 1, after my move-in experience. Im informed on my move-in date that keys are ready for move-in by 10 AM. I packed all my stuff in packers and movers. Few of my friends helped me on moving my stuff. Thanks to them. But after reaching leasing office by 11:30 AM, they said that keys are not available and service department is still working on the apartment and would give me a callback when available. This completely messed up my schedule and where Im suppossed to wait after vacating my old apartment. Thank God I have a friend nearby and waited there. Waited till closing time foir callback and decided to walk-in and check. Just before closing they have given me the keys. My entire schedule is messed. ATT service transfer appointment I missed. Missing my entire day WFH because of this. No slots till Tuesday. After speaking to few of my neighbors got silimar complaint for his move-in experience from Ohio and waited 4 hours for move-in. And apartment service is also very bad, not on time.
Previous Review: I signed lease for one partment, but later that's not availble and got some other few options from them. Finally able to get a confirmed date and apartment to move in by Aug 15th. So far good.
Wahab, the leasing consultant is really helpful. Thanks for him.
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Renter beware!! Unprofessional and extremely rude staff. I lived here for approximately 5 months and every month new charges for something appeared with minimal notice and if you call to speak with someone it almost IMPOSSIBLE to speak with someone because communication is ONLY THROUGH EMAIL. My water bill varied every month despite me being the only person in the apartment and at times not residing in the apartment for months my water bill would still be higher.
This apartment complex is well kept on the outside but the inside should make you think twice! The rent is too high to experience poor service and rude staff that are paid by your rent!
The buildings are old and outdated as well as the appliances - because of this you will get charged an arm and a leg just to run your appliances and have a/c. I just moved here from Indy Green and my electric bill was $80 a month compared to $214 in the same month from Muirwood. When I went to the business office to talk to them about it they made me feel like a criminal and had very poor people skills. They then proceeded to tell me to call the maintenance office next time even though I called everyday for 2 weeks and nobody ever responded (left messages as well) - which prompted me to go into the office in person. It is a safe community and a great location but it is way too expensive for what you get and their customer service is the worst I've ever seen - if you have a problem you're almost better off fixing it yourself than dealing with those people. "The customer is NOT always right", was told to my face by someone working there - that should tell you everything you need to know.
security and maintenance are unremarkable. Today, at the gate, the security lady literally yelled at me, only because I forgot my ID. And who the hell is she to yell at me for forgetting something. No manners at all.
We lived in Muirwood Apartments (2bed, 2 bath) for 3 years and we loved it. Although we had mostly a positive experience during our time there, it has its cons too. I will break down the good, bad, and ugly for you.
Good: *** Muirwood apartments are located in the center of a lot of things. Its close to downtown farmington, major highways, mall, grocery stores (indian & american) and restaurants (Most of them within a 5min drive).
*** rooms are spacious (eat in kitchen) lot of closets, newly renovated. Note that upstairs 2beds are way more spacious than downstairs ones.
*** large gated community with plenty of space for kids to play, ride bikes etc. Safe too.
*** there is a park for kids, sauna, swimming pool (both indoor & outdoor), and a small gym.
Bad:
*** rules: i understand that in order for any community to maintain its property, rules have to be set in place but some are just plain annoying and unfeasable.
1. No bike parking outside ( there are no bike racks and its a pain to put it inside your apartment and back out again especially if you live upstairs).
*** Maintanence: depending on who you get to fix your repairs, you could have good or bad experiences. In the years we have stayed here, it has been good but we had one guy ( pat ) who refused to fix anything whenever he came and instead gave us lectures on how to do things. It was very frustrating when he would come. I dont know why they dont fire him. Many people had a similar experience with him too. However they are prompt.
*** Rent: rent is higher than other communities close by because its gated.
*** Walls: walls are thin so you can hear people talking outside during their walks but you won't hear your neighbors unless they are loud.
Ugly:
*** snow cleaning: dont expect snow to be removed immediately and do a clean job either. Sometimes trucks do come the night before if its heavy snow (which is rare) but they dont clean it well. Snow plows come usually at 10am or so for full cleaning and by then most people are gone.
*** management: as other reviewers have mentioned, management at muirwood is rude at times and doesnt even acknowledge the problems at times. However, there is one african american lady that joined recently who has been very helpful so we were dealing with her. Stay away from jacyln if you can. She is very rude.
Overall our time at muirwood was pleasant with some downs here and there ( crazy maintenance guy and some people in management )but we found a way around it to avoid the headaches. People living in the community are very friendly and lot of kids to play with.
The heater is broken for 15 days and no update. We had to stay 2 days in a hotel because of lack of attention of service crew. The equipment is from the 80s and breaks a lot.
Service is horrible. Apart from the attached image at least a dozen calls have been placed to fix this but to no avail.
The Maintenance service is very poor. They water damaged my personal items while they are fixing the bath room. There is no explanation on this damage and just told me to claim insurance. So rude to say this and I have never met this worst staff like this. In the spring and summer this is not the human's habitat but bug's habitat. aunts, worms, and spiders everywhere. This is not the place to live relax but battle with bugs everyday.
I am living since an year. My lease is up next month and I wanted to move to a different apartment within the community. But they charging me $500 transfer fee even though we didn't do any damage to the property. They don't respect their tenants. They raise 50-100$ per year on your rent. There are many apartments in this area that are good with a decent price. They don't even deserve single star. Finally I decided to move out.
Recently moved into Muirwood and had a really great experience with Brandon at the front desk. He helped me figure out my online bill pay and was very pleasant.
It seemed like a great place at first, but within a month we're dying to move out. Our apartment constantly smells like smoke (I assume our neighbors smoke) and they basically told me I'm SOL. We've also been licing here for barely over a month, and out apartment is a revolving door of maintenance people. The only occasionally tell you they'll be entering the apartment, or they notify you that they'll be entering the apartment sometime in the next few weeks weeks and in the meantime you should keep your pets locked up, no dishes on the stove or inside the oven, no furniture by the windows, etc. I called the office after the last notice, and they literally said that I needed to move all my furniture away from the windows. Across the entire apartment. This seemed like a completely reasonable request for them.
The randomly came in and patched some drywall (which I appreciate that they want to maintain the apartment) but I feel this should have been handled before I moved in. The cracks were there back then while it was vacant. Maintenance left drywall dust everywhere, they didn't even bother cleaning up after themselves.
Honestly, save yourself the money. It looks nice initially, but it's way too expensive for the inconvenience and how rude the office people are when you call with a concern.
The complex is nice but administration people is rude to residents don't do anything if neighbors keep the common areas dirty the complex will not clean them up
I have moved here last and one of the worst apartment i never seen in my entire life. The worst maintenance and never show up if we request for maintenance. I request all not sign lease in this apartment.
This has got to be one of the worst places to live. Honest when I moved in I was told by others it wasn't so bad, but that has changed. Initially when I moved in I wrote/verbally told the apartment complex on move in that my kitchen cabinets didn't lock in place and would fall off, the doors didn't have the latch so they didn't lock in the room, there was a huge hole in the underneath the kitchen sink in the cabinetry. Honestly you would think they would do a walk through. They put in a new stove that didn't even fit so every time I opened my oven door it gets stuck. All of these items either took way too long to get fixed or didn't get fixed even now almost one year later of moving.
Later my secondary bathroom tiles were bursting at the seams and it took 2-3 weeks to get that repaired and no notice of when a date was set. Because they had to work with a third party. And they fixed this without notifying me having someone else not from the apartment fix it and leave my bathroom a mess.
They then sent me my renewal notice letting me know my rent was going up, however when I asked to for some sort of negotiation the "business team" pretty much gave me a slap in the face with a $15 off the renewal amount.
Then I asked to see if I could possibly move into a different apartment in the complex and ask for how much it would be. They returned the favor by telling me I needed to complete a transfer document that would $25 just to see if I qualify after living there for almost a year and paying my rent on time every month. And if I did decide to transfer to another apartment in the same complex they would charge me a $500 fee because they had to flip 2 apartments. Wouldn't they have to do so regardless of a new client coming in to mine after I move out and if some new client was moving into the other instead of existing customer?
The so called business team does there best to never return calls. I've called and left multiple message, but they disregard them all. The entire staff with maybe an exception to one or two is awful. They are rude and inconsiderate.
To put it politely I am very fed up with this place and can't wait to move out.
I stayed at Muirwood, Farmington Hills for almost year. It was a great place to stay, safe gated community. Near by all shopping centers. service from the leasing / quick support /maintenance in case of emergency was good.
I moved from out of state, did the application online and the whole thing was a mess. You will not hear back from the admin or apt complex and different people will tell you different things. When you do arrive, you key may not be available at the gate attendant as many people will promise. All these things happened to me with a car full of stuff waiting to move in, but no one had the key and no one to call. So be careful. Honestly, they make tons of false promises and never follow up with anything, neither timely nor after being told about them. I did interact with the office staff in the complex itself and the attitude is higher than the empire state building, they honestly could care less, all they care about is your signature and the money. I have lived here for 3 months now and waiting for the time to move out. There are plenty of other nice complexes within few minutes and the same road (Drakeshire, Chatham Hills, Windemere) , i usually dont submit reviews, but this experience has been so bad, I want to make sure people in the future are aware before they sign up. Please be careful and take everything with a grain of salt because you will be promised many things, but the end result will be nothing but empty promises. Oh and if you try to contact them, GOOD LUCK! they make it their mission to keep routing you and having you listen to automated machine and eventually it hangs up by itself. So the only way to talk to them is face to face for every little thing because the phone lines are only open for potential tenants, no the foolish residents who have already signed up. This management is the worst you will ever encounter, I can promise you that. If you have come this far and still deciding on Muirwood, I wish you the best of luck and hope things turn out better for you then they did for me and many others I have spoken to. Look elsewhere, this is the worst managed apartment complex you will find.
Worst apartments i ever seen .. they look nice from outside but every month something breaks ... Maintenance guys don't know what they are doing .. my bathroom roof was leaked badly when called emergency number stupid guy came and said he can't fix it .. He didn't stop the water as well .. Next day floor collapsed and my bathroom was hell and had to throw everything out .... They didn't say sorry but arrogantly asked me many different questions. Just couple of days before similar issue but this time kitchen roof was leaking water and same thing happen again guy came and said he can't fix it and close the work order .. and I am writing this review now enough is enough ....
Horrible place. The apartment looks beautiful from outside but inside its all must be 20 years old i guess.
Service is WORST: The old guy from service department is VERY RUDE. He just kicked my plant pot with his boots when he came to fix the heater. He never care to even stop and hear you. The MOST MEAN guy i have ever seen.
Gated community: The gated community is a complete joke. They are just racist. The white lady in the gate will pull your guest in trouble if she dont like the skin color. Many a times they dont even agree that you are living in the apartment, when the guest told your last name. I literally ran to the gate from my apartment to rescue my guests.
Rent: Rent is just too high compared to the apartments near by. All those apartments have huge waiting list but Muirwood always has openings. So guess whats wrong here :P EVERYTHING!
I am just counting my leasing days to move the HELL out of here.
I m a current resident. My AC is not working since July 18th, I just received an email today (after calls and emails) saying that is not repairable and has to be replaced per a revision that they did yesterday.... I mean 1 MONTH AFTER MY MAINTENANCE ORDER, of course there is not date for the AC replacement. Property manager is not taking calls or responding emails, Brandy Cooper is rude. In Muirwood AC is considered a LUXURY...... that's what assistant property manager said today.
We have been living here since 3 year. Community is maintained quite well, specially exterior. Apartments are spacious with good storage space. Clubhouse is pretty neatly maintained and good space to arrange gatherings. I would have given four stars but had to take a star off for poor management and compliance to service requests. One of such experiences is - They scheduled carpet replacement for my apartment today. We moved furniture from bedrooms, emptied closets and walls. In the morning when I called to check and lady in office said they will come any time during the day. At 1.30pm when I called again to check, they simply say that it's not scheduled today. No sign of courtesy! These kind of miscommunications are very common here. Advice if you are planning to stay here - Confirm all appointments in writings. Don't deal over phone!
I really hope management takes these reviews seriously and work on fixing core problems than having us fix the reviews!
As somebody who works in a profession that revolves around helping others, I can honestly say that I've never dealt with such poor customer service in my life. I left 5 messages in 3 weeks after moving out to update my forwarding address and never received a call back. When I received my final bill, two weeks late because I was not able to update my address, I had a question and was actually able to reach somebody for once!!! However, she did not know the answer and had to refer it to her supervisor...surprise surprise, never got a call back. I mailed a check in to pay my final bill 3 weeks after moving out. I have now been gone 5 weeks, the check has still not cleared my bank, and I got a call this morning from a collection agency in regards to the account. Once again, I cannot get anybody on the phone to ask about the check I sent in. The entire process has been absolutely ridiculous and unless you are okay with dealing with incompetency, I would not recommend moving here.
I have vacated the apartment after 5 years and still they are charging for normal wear and tear. I have stayed in many places. Not seen apartment community like Muirwood who is such money minded. For damages caused due to their service department they still charge tenants. Definitely not a place to stay. You can rather donate money to charity.
Not a place to stay if you are not ready to shell out 10-15% rent increase every year. I stayed in this apartment for 2 years and every year the rent increase is way to high ,without any benefit to the residents. Maintenance requests take time and also windows are much older and winter is always problem here. If you are looking for better and friendly place ,look elsewhere.
I lived close to a year at Muirwood and loved the experience. I am very happy with the way they treated me even after moving out of the apartment and helping me with timely documentation to assist my relocation process. All service requests were promptly completed and was impressed with the technician fixing a minor A/C issue on the penultimate day of my move out. I would have loved to stay back if only I was not moving out of state.
I felt safe with the controlled access to the community. I felt glad when they organized community events. I was happy to see the roads being maintained well during winter and heavy snow.
If I would have got a chance of giving negative reviews I would have given those. The management doesn t even care about the service requests and calls that have been made for the fixes.I moved in August 2017 and since the day I moved in I had trouble with my bath tub.It was peeling and after 4-5dequests they fixed it and they told me that they would fix the drain the next day, they haven t fixed it till date.I called them many times to fix the washer dryer problem and everytime they said that they will send out someone from maintenance to take a look at it even they din t send anyone to fix it.Now comes the best part of their carless attitude, They access system was not work both with card and through phone call(i tried it for more than 20mins) I went back to their security staff and explained them the situation. She was so careless that she said she can t do anything till morning. They can t fix it and their is no other option to enter the community. seriously?? Then how do you people promise about 24/7maintenance?How is it the residents fault that it was not working? The lady from the security staff was so rude that she said I doesn t care about it.What kindoff attitude was that? I am paying thousands as rent. I don t deserve that kindoff attitude. I won t recommend this place to anyone.
Terrible experience with this apartments i have been residing in farmington from past 5years and never had issue with other apartments but with muirwood maintence is unbelivable they will get you scheuled after 2weeks when you complain, snow cleaning will be 1day after snowing no reposne from muirwood team when you complain about an issue .
I was going to move in one of the apartments last month, about one week prior to the move in date, one of the stuff contacted me and told me there was some issue with the apartment and they couldn't deliver the apartment, so I end up moving into another apartment, however they still hold my security deposit, and they told me that would be returned to me within 4 weeks, but it's been 5 weeks now, I still haven't got my money back, I sent couple of emails, no replies, called them many times, each time they said they gonna call me back with update, but I never received any phone call. Really bad management, I will complain to Beztak directly, hope I can get my money back soon!!!
iam staying in this from 2014 .From my experience it's worst apartments in farmington. They simply cheat the people if u don't check the rental agreement . I given consent for 6 months and 12 months leases respectively for my last 2 leases .But in original they included 7 and 13 months .I found out after couple of months .Got answer that i should check and it's not their mistake. They will lie without blink in the eyes.Worst to the core .pathetic in servicing the maintenance requests. no request completed at first time.because of their delay in servicing the Centralized AC i paid $750 as electricity bill for 3 months .Worst management team .will always say they cannot do any thing stay away from these apartments . giving 1 star since it's not allowing to give 0 stars.I just saw the owners response. Please go thru the damage photos shared by your team.Do these damages requires $600 ..?Simply put they just looting the money for the apartment maintence.
I was residing muirwood apartments from April 2017 in single bedroom apartment and I applied lease transfer to 2Bed /2 Bath apartment (They said newly renovated apartment :)) last month. I requested the see apartment condition before seeing move in they didn't allow to see the apartment. Saturday, I got the keys from the leasing office happily and eager to see move to new apartment. As soon as I open the apartment I am shocked after see the apartment condition also I didn t the consumer energy/DTE energy / Internet everything to new apartment and I am forced to move to this new apartment because I packed all my stuff in old apartment , arranged the packers and movers everything. Immediately I went to complain to leasing office they said I am responsible only for sales she asked me to talk to manager on Monday.
Monday morning, I went and spoke to the leasing manager. I showed the pictures and condition of the new apartment and she agreed the apartment is not in movable condition. She asked question is the apartment in my possession or you returned the keys to leasing. I said apartment in my possession. now she is telling I am not responsible to fix the issues, but I will forward your request to service team and she didn t commit to fix issues. now I am in full depression.
I am request to everyone please do not think about this apartment it s a junk apartment everything old. don t believe them nothing is renovated but their advertisement they will say renovated. you can see the apartment condition after renovation in my pictures.
To Owner :
I contacted and i sent a lot of email to service coordinator and Property manager . so far they fixed only drywall and nothing else is fixed and now service service coordinator is telling, Your apartment storage room will not come with shelfs and this is not acceptable, when all other apartments having shelfs why my apartment itself not come with shelfs? . Who is the right person to contact for the issues.
Worst ever maintenance stuff. I have been complaining about the ac and they do nothing about it. They will wait till the temperatures drop down and them come and show you that the ac is maintaining its temperature. Don't ever lease any of these apartments if you don't want to be boiled to almost death in the summers and you don't want to foot a big electricity bill. They say they have they have 24*7 maintenance but they just have 1 technician for the whole apartment complex which has more than 40 buildings. I had called them on 06/30/2018 with my house boiling at 86F and they haven't even come to fix it till evening on 07/01/2018 and I am still waiting. My electricity bill for last month was $140 for a 2 BHK apartment.
I have been living in Muirwood Apartments for ~1 year and opted to transfer to a 2 bedroom apartment in Muirwood, in order to proceed with transfer process my old unit was evaluated and I was charged $65 for One stain on carpet. However when we moved in new apartments entire carpet has blotched stains throughout, bathroom has also black stains, electric range was malfunctioning, Heater went off twice in 2 days. I requested Muirwood Management to offer me a New Unit but I am being told all these issues are repairable and they plan on rectifying these when I am in Unit and will not be offered New Unit. They did not even consider my situation, as the whole reason we moved to a New Apartment is we are expecting our New born shortly and they want us to live with what they have. Worst Management, does not care about customer satisfaction and concerns
Im here since January The neighbors steps in the apartment over me is soo Loud i couldn't sleep some times and couldn't study .also i can hear their toilet flushes all the time. I went to the manger and talked with him nothing changed . What The triable material they use to build the ceiling.
IM TIRED OF THIS
My previous review was: Good location and easy to where you want
I recently had an issue where my bills from DTE and Consumers Energy where accidentally going directly to Muirwood. They where very nice in trying to work with me and giving me time to solve the misunderstanding( they have a 50$ fee every time they process a bill for you). Like I said, they were understanding and when I brought the proofs that I could gather, they reimbursed me
I don t have any option to give negative stars. If you are to live in USA on Visa and have uncertainty with extensions and denials. This is not a right place to live. Management is worse than any IVR and don t have practical empathy or considerations. You get multiple responses when you call or see someone in the leasing office. Charges are unreasonable if you have to leave the apartment with a lease break. The services are worst and Beztak properties take it for granted if you are on VISA. If you go for them with heat or cold leak issue through windows, they will suggest to go to Home depot and get the stuff to fill the windows, if you complain on insects coming from gaps of the windows / doors, they will close the ticket without any treatment. I have complained for a broken closet door and never fixed and while leaving i am charged with $150 for it. Car parking comes with pits and during rainy seasons, me or my kids can get into the car without stepping into the water pits. The treatment to the residents is horrible. If you are living here and need to leave home. Please take pictures to every detail and keep it ready to defend the unreasonable charges. There is a feedback survey that comes with every work order and it has no impact. I got a letter from HR explaining my visa denial and requested to waive off lease break or help me with anything. The harsh response from office was like this "Feel happy that we are giving option to pay only 2 months rent as lease break + two months rent for not giving notice period, and say thank you for not asking all the amount for lease term signed." There was a tap leak issue in the commode and water was flowing continuously for 4 days in spite of emergency request. Unreasonable increase in rent with no logic or no improvements and simply say as per market rate. Attaching some pics after this feedback with request history and car surrounded with water in covered parking with pits. so you know how you get the house. You write a negative review on Muirwood website, it won t show up anymore as it gets deleted. In spite of couple of emails requesting waiver of carpet and vinyl and late fee there is no response or help. I told them I dont earn in $$ and vinyl stain was already there when i occupied. I gave notice period on 5th April with move out date 8th April. They took the opportunity to charge me late payment (6th April for regular rent payment) charge of $50, even though the rent payment no more applies as i am paying 2 months notice and 2 months lease break. Added what I got a bill in spite of rash responses.
I have stayed in several rental apartments before and have never experienced such unprofessional behavior. My neighbor drove into the carport and broke 4 adjacent carports slightly over a month ago. Carport is included in the rent we pay and as per the contract we should be getting a carport. The entire point of carport is not shoveling snow from the top of your car in Michigan weather. After calling the business office for 15 times at-least and leaving a voice-mail on several occasions, finally I spoke to a human being yesterday. She was extremely rude. When I explained the situation politely, the only reply I got was "we don't have any estimate when will it be fixed". Upon asking if they can assign any other carports or give us compensation for the inconvenience, the short and rude reply was "No". The tone that they use while you talk to the leasing agents is so pleasant but once you become a resident, its all downhill. I have had other issues with the apartment before but experience with the maintenance as well as business office has always been an unpleasant one. Every time the office staff has been super rude. Also, finally upon request when I talked to the "responsible" person regarding the carport, she told me that they are going through the process of finding the maintenance company right now.. Such a big community and you guys don't have maintenance staff to fix the carport! Ssly! Why the heck are we paying so much and she also said it wont be fixed before next year. So, I don't have an option but to shovel the snow off my car every morning despite of paying for the carport. There are better communities out there. Please do not get lured by their sweet sales pitch.
If anyone is willing to move in to Muir wood apartments please change your plans. these apartments are just for showcase purpose. but if you enter inside totally worst. after 1 month of moving into the apartments there is leak in the 3rd floor that ruined the whole roof in the first floor. after 1 month i got the maintenance team after several times of bugging them. the maintenance guy told that it is hard to live here while the work is in progress. i talked with the service manager about the issue and asked for a different apartment. after a couple of time calling and explaining the issue she got mad on me and saying we are not stopping your water or heat you can stay in the apartment. that is ridiculous. she is very rude how the way she speaks. after going home all my household items what ever in the house is full of dust and everything is in the living room looks dirty because work is happening in bedroom , bathroom, kitchen, walk way, washer and dryer room. the problem is how hard it is to cleanup the things after the work done. how a person can live there. so just to let you guys know how bad is the service and how ridiculous the behavior is with the service team and manager. if you guys can't maintain the apartments then please stop giving to the people. this is the worst experience i ever had in my entire life. Apart from this my bell never worked and the blinds in the living room are from old ages never replaced them. lots of bugs in the carpet. complained complained complained....... nooooooooooo responseeeeeeeee.
most expensive apartment in whole farmington hills, unprofessional management, business people, they lie saying they will fix anything that is broken but won't do it unless you ask them for at least 10 times. when your Service request for maintenance would be served, you would never know, no guarantee as well if it would be served or not. Have seen lot of cops now and then. seems like this apartment is really not secure. would not recommend anyone.
WORST MAINTENANCE TEAM I CAME ACROSS MY LIFE!. My apartment was not move-in ready by move in date and management promised to fix all maintenance issues as soon as possible. However, it's been 9 months and not much happened. Now, AC is malfunctioning since last 45 days (summer with temperatures in 80- 95 range) and have called/visited emergency maintenance, service coordinator, assistant manager and manager atleast 15 -20 times in last 4 weeks. No help. Even manager and assistant manager betray with fake promises. I don't see a coordination between what Assistant manager, manager and service coordinator says.
Unfortunately got few more months of lease. CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF THIS HELL.
Lived here for 1 year. Very rude and arrogant maintenance staff. Takes forever to get anything fixed. Roads are bad and apartment quality is below average. For the price range they are NOT A DEAL.
Extremely poor customer service. Management lacks professionalism & attitude once you become a resident / customer is very bad. Lacks proper account management & co-ordination !!
Worst place I ever rented from. I stayed here 2 years starting in 2012. I have posted my negative experience here multiple times over the years warning people and will still continue to do so. They will NEVER show you the apartment that you actually get. The apartments and appliances including the furnace are all very old and not insulated properly resulting in high utilities. They make no attempts to replace old appliances. My furnace actually had duct tape on it. All maintenance have keys and come and go as they please, I had to call police while living there because someone was coming and going in and out of my apartment without my knowledge. Office staff are absolutely horrible and unprofessional. I've said it many times before and it's been previously proven that the good reviews you read have been posted by their office staff. They do this to push down all of the negative reviews to the bottom. So many other places to rent from where your money can be better spent. BEWARE!!!
Worst place I have EVER lived!!! The maintenance is HORRIBLE and management couldn't care less. I escalated issues to corporate and never got a response. I moved into the apartment sight unseen because they couldn't show it before it was ready but it wouldn't be ready until the day I moved in so I'd only seen the model which was NOT comparable to my unit...AT ALL. To name a few of the issues I had when I took possession: master bathroom had to be completely redone, shower tiles, tub and doors, vanity replaced and both toilets leaked; Kitchen was dirty, carpet dirty and should have been replaced, paint running down the walls, ceiling cracked, laundry room/washer FILTHY, tub in second bathroom needed to be re-glazed, blinds dirty. After moving into an apartment that was NOT move in ready I spent the entire first 2 months arguing with management and getting NOWHERE!!! I would have NEVER moved in with it being in the condition that it was given to me in. Their solution was "you can be released from your lease with no penalty." Who wants to go through moving AGAIN after just moving??? Well, eventually, before the end of my lease, I took them up on that offer and left before my lease ended because I couldn't take anymore. In the winter snow removal is nearly non existent, the parking lot was a sheet of ice for days! My boyfriend swept and shoveled my walk way so I can have a path inside when I got off work. Maintenance takes WEEKS for SIMPLE requests. I WISH I HAD READ THESE REVIEWS BEFORE I MOVED IN!!! After I moved out I was charged for replacing burners on the stove (that were dirty when I moved in) and an additional $50 for "disposal of personal items," the personal items in question were an air freshener at the front door and a small pint of ice cream in the freezer...there was not another single item left in the unit and they charged $50 for that---unbelievable. It would have saved me time, energy and money on moving a second time in a year. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pay attention to these reviews!!! As I have read them I can honestly say I agree, the common thread is poor maintenance and lackluster staff---they are accurate and had I read these BEFORE moving in would have never made that mistake!!!
Handed over an unclean, damaged apartment and refused to fix it after lease was executed. At the end of lease, I was charged about $1000 in damages that were pre-existing. Expect all your maintenance requests to be canceled without any reason or explanation.
This one of the worst apartment building I have ever lived at the do not help you with anything or communicate good with you. Also I had a 2bedroom 2 bathroom and I wanted to switch to upgrade and they won t let me because I had a returned payment but they did not tell me that I can t pay with a debit card, So now I have to wait 6months to even move to a new one and I don t even feel safe In my own home but they do not care.
We moved during mid of July last year and till now our stay has been pleasant. Thanks to Muirwood management for the constant monitoring and maintenance.
