Stunning views (harbour, Table Mountain & the Cape Wheel), affordable & delicious food (even for the health-conscious - my favourite: Croque Madame with Low Carb bread), and good service (with minor exceptions).

Not impressed. Waiter tried to scam me of R 100 in change.Paid bill of R69 with R200 note was shortchanged. When i queried it,She removed the note from her pocket. Not a way to welcome much needed tourists .
Service was poor, waited 30 minutes to be served and then got charged the wrong price for the drinks. Had to continuously ask for assistance which never arrived. Worst Mugg and Bean I ve been to
Restaurant wasn't that busy, however the service wasn't great compared to our previous visit. My husband ordered a Americano, when he got his coffee it was cold, as well as the milk when he specified he wanted hot milk, when they brought his coffee second time around, it was a normal filter coffee and the milk was lukewarm not hot. We waited about 35-40 minutes for our food, and we had to wait for the butter which was hard as a rock. We generally enjoy going to Mugg&Bean, I suppose it depends on your waiter or how busy the Restaurant is.
Great view & a cheaper eating option than other restaurants at the Waterfront. Fast & friendly service. Food quality is not as good as other M&B though.
In a very nice part of the Victoria Wharf Mall and with both inside and outside (deck) seating. So popular, there is often a queue, so go early at busy times. Take-aways section too.
Guy who was helping us was very nice, but messed up my entire order, asked for sticky sweet wings and BBQ ribs with sweet potato, got very tough ribs and potato chips. So bummed because mugg and bean is usually spot on.
So after not going back for a long time, for various reasons, I decided to go back today for coffee and a muffin. I specifically asked for the muffin to be "slightly" warmed. It was delivered to me so piping hot that steam was coming off of it. I literally could not touch it. No joke. Then my coffee comes cool and not even the hot milk made a difference. I had to have it microwaved hot. This is such a pity because I work 1 minute away and It would be so convenient for me. Sorry guy's but you won't see me again. PS and R60 for a muffin and coffee :(
I generally really enjoy Mugg and Bean, but really do not recommend this one. Had bad experiences on 2 occasions. 1. Ordered a meal with a Mojito(which i pointed to and mentioned to the waiter), then got brought some apple ice drink. When telling the waiter that this wasn't my order, he informed me that I did order that. I then replaced the order with a milkshake , which after 30min, was still not received. I then finished my meal and had to cancel my order. 2. Ordered an eggs Benedict and they provided me with a meal that felt like it had just came out of the fridge. The meal was cold while the plate was extremely hot. I then informed them about it being cold and they took it away just to microwave it warm.
Really don't recommend going there. Go to any other Mugg and Bean.
Worst service ever 20/8/2020 my order came to R102.80. The waiter was so not interested. It took almost 5 mins to get his attention for sugar and even longer tir the bill...I am registered on the MG app - Francisco Pepino.
The bottomless coffee wasn t bottomless, the soft poached egg could have been used to build houses, the staff were rude and unhelpful and the propped the door open to allow the gale force winds in. The muffin was nice though.
Great value considering this is located at the Waterfront. Cake portions are easily enough for two people so consider sharing. If the weather is warm you can get an outside seat with a view of the harbour and the mountain.
Of course, my Mugg & Bean spoil is a chocolate 'choc chip muffin' with groundless coffee! A friendly waiter, quick service and the view at Waterfront were wonderful ..... sea and boats ...... and lots of people!
I'm a regular at Mugg and Bean, wherever they might be, for their great breakfast, lunch and snack selection. Their locations are generally well chosen, and the V&A Waterfront is great for its views of the harbour, city and Table Mountain.
I recommend bringing friends and family for a good breakfast, or a relaxing sit down snack with coffee and enjoying the sunset in the vibrant atmosphere of the V&A.
There is ample outside seating, and even indoors the large glass windows allow for excellent views from almost anywhere in the restaurant.
This M&B is a popular spot, and you'll see many groups and other regulars frequenting it, especially on weekends. Once you visit and feel the vibe you will become a regular too, as so many are.
It is a great place to chill with your friends and family. The brother who served us was so welcoming and very nice...I enyoyed Mugg & Bean and I am definitely coming back and I would recommend it to everyone
It was a terrible experience, I waited until I was hangry! For breakfast I doubt people should wait an hr!!!!I ordered what looked like a yummy omelette... Only to get warm avo on rubbery eggs. It's been a while, since I have been to Mugg n Bean. Still sucks!!!
Poor service. Food was cold, coffee was cold. Classic breakfast consisted of cold chips, over cooked eggs, and dry bacon. And the wait until the coffee arrived was very long.
Never have a problem with service here. They always have enough staff on duty and you hardly need to wait for your food. You don't get much of a view from the outside seating if that's what you're looking for in a V&A restaurant.
Just on how friendly the staff were I give them a super 5.
The food was good as well however my eggs were meant to come through as medium however was quite yolky. Not a train smash though, such happens sometimes.
Staff checked in on my friend and I regularly and the vibe was great. I would defs visit again.
What is happening to the Waterfront M&B, we both had tropical breakfasts which were not bad however what upset me was that I received a cupachinno in a cup that had lipstick on the opposite side which I became aware of after the first sip. I felt sick!! The waiter was dismissive of the fact. I won't return.
Perfect for a quick but good bite to eat, had dinner here - never been to a M&B before, and this was a treat! When I ordered my Mac and Cheese I definitely did not expect something as complex as I got.
The bottomless coffee wasn t bottomless, the soft poached egg could have been used to build houses, the staff were rude and unhelpful and the propped the door open to allow the gale force winds in. The muffin was nice though.
Beautiful view of Table Mountain and the harbor if you sit in the right part of the dining room. The food choices were abundant. I chose breakfast that was vegetarian. My friend got this huge burger and thought it was delicious. Service was good. Our waitress was very funny and joked with us.
Mugg & Bean is always a favourite. I enjoyed the coffee and my sister's California Omelette was amazing. But my favourite meal, the Chipotle chicken Livers were horrible :(. The Chicken livers were undercooked and had this weird taste. Also the food took forever.
Well, let my picture in recent pictures tell you what I'm looking at. On the menu is what it should look like. Lol - it's a mess. I ordered a mess. I ordered a mess of Benedict Cumberbatch
The service was excellent and the people are seriously friendly. This place is always full, which leads to a delay in gettomg your meal, but when your meal does arrive, no matter what you might have ordered, it is always good. The speciality drinks are also something which is recommended as they are delicious.
I was totally and completely disappointed with the service I received today. It took my wife and I 25min before we asked for some one to take our order. An hour after we got to the restaurant we received our food. My sunny side up eggs had the whites still runny and there was hair on my second egg. We were totally disgusted. So much so that my wife couldn't have her breakfast either. This was the place that we had our first ever date and wanted to rekindle some memories. Guess we will have to look for another place as we will never be having breakfast there again.
Always nice to have a coffee at mugg and bean! Brain the waiter was so friendly! The manager even gave us another piece of cake when ours was a bit dry...and we did not want to complain... The view is the best!!!!
