We called Mudge's when we moved to St Thomas in the winter of 2015. The man on the phone (not the owner) was beyond helpful, explaining modern washing machines to me and giving advice and his personal experience. I was a laundromat user, and then we had a little portable washer that only my partner knew the mysteries of - when I pointed for Mudge's installer to give his explanations to the guy in the room because I didn't do laundry, he was bemused and said "that's unusual". ;) We bought a front-load washer and dryer set, had a minor problem with the dryer that was serviced immediately, and have used them very happily with no troubles ever since. I can't speak to anyone else's experience, but mine was very happy.

Every appliance I own has been sold and serviced by Mudges. Sad to see them announce retirement.

This company costed close to $500.00 over a 9 month period with 9 months of poor service. Save yourself the time and just buy a new machine.

Terrible phone experience. Didn't even ask me questions just told me to come down and look. Last time I replaced my fridge over the phone and never had to step foot in the store. I was going to buy a washer and dryer over the phone what better customer could you have!

Worked for this guy. He will rip you off. He does not care about his customers at all nor his employees do not buy from this guy you will have issues which he will then deny and act like your the problem.

Tried to charge me an amount that was never agreed to over the phone, and gave me a ridiculous quote/estimate/fix for an appliance repair. They then sent it to collections. Not cool.

I have always had a good experience with this company. We buy all our appliances from Mudges and have always been pleased with their service - especially the free delivery and attention we receive in store. We feel it is important to shop locally too! I would recommend them as their prices are good and service is a lot better than in the big box stores. We just had a repair on our dishwasher and had a good experience there too! The repair man was friendly and fixed us up!

Had a good experience with the salesman, however, whom ever was working when my husband went to pick up our fridge was extremely rude and arrogant. He was mad that we didn't pay for delivery - which why would we when we own a pickup truck?? Then he complained about how high my husbands truck was and hardly even helped load the fridge - my husband pretty much did it himself. With that type of attitude we definitely won't be purchasing from there again, which is too bad because we wanted to support a small town business instead of a big box store.

It took nearly 1 year and $1200 to fix an old stove - when I could have bought new. They kept bringing in parts, piece by piece, saying "this should fix things" but they never did - and the bill kept adding up. What a scam.

Went in for a part to fix my dryer and called before hand to make sure they had it. After I purchase it you could clearly see that the initial price (written in pen by them) was scratched off with permanent marker and charged me almost double. Completely got taken advantage of, if your looking for parts go somewhere else and save yourselve some money.

Had a washer and they came over 6 times with their 'trained' employees and could not fix my washer. They ordered wrong parts and charged me for them. They clearly did not know what there were doing yet charged me $700 to fix a year old washer.

Worse company ever. Horrible customer service.

Jeremy was great. He repaired the fan on our LG flattop stove/oven which was under warranty. Did a great job and went the extra mile to level it to our countertop upon my request. Thanks Jeremy!

Not very pleased with how long I have had to wait for service. Part has been in for over a week and now they have cancelled service on me this week and I have to wait another week for my washer to be fixed. I would not recommend this company.

This is a long-standing business in St Thomas. They offer a good selection of product. They offer good support and repair services. However appliance delivery could use a little help. The young man doing deliveries are very nice but occasionally Lac the proper accessories to get your old appliances out of the house cleanly!

Just called them to see if they had a part I needed. He said they do not carry it and that they would have to special order and there would be no refund and then hung up. I didn't even have a chance to say anything else, just click. The other reviews on here seem pretty accurate.

Had a terrible experience. Purchased a full set of appliances for our new house including a gas stove. Arranged for store tech to see new house and make a parts list for gas line to kitchen but he was a no show. Store said they were too busy. On move day the gas stove arrived but the tech wouldn't install it because there wasn't a gas line. Called owner who said he'd switch it for electric stove but it wouldn't be for another week. Asked if customer service matter to him and he said we still wouldn't have a stove for another week. He actually hung up on me. Ended up calling another company who installed the gas line and the stove in under 2 hours. Won't buy from Mudge's again. Would give less than 1 star if I could.
