Various temporary exhibitions, each will find according to his taste. I particularly liked the one about Raoul Servais.

In Muzee and many locations spread over Ostend expo 'Het Vlot' (autumn-winter 2017-2018). Recommended. Also go to the Europa Building, worth 180 + 180 "for the view alone.
The permanent exhibition Ensor and Spilliaert is top. There is ample space for other exhibitions and projects. There are fascinating pieces to discover.
There was a very interesting expo of modern art from Kinshasa and other highlights. The museum doesn't have a cafe which we missed
Nice place. Do not hesitate to choose the full tour.
Finally a place for this museum having left Ypres (Ieper), nice visit for those who love painting.
Impressive museum in a former department store with a quirky layout.
Houses a large collection of art (1850 to present) with a special attention to works of Ensor and Spilliaert.
I stop there every time I come to Ostend, and I'm never disappointed!
We visited the permanent exhibition about Ensor and Spillaert.
Very nice and good background material.
Also beautiful etchings and drawings by Ensor.
Somewhat "large" works by both artists are missing
The museum is located in a former department store. In addition to the permanent collection, there are always several special exhibitions. Always worth a visit!
Ostend from its most cultural side. A must to enjoy the coast in a different way.
Super, the lessons in plastic arts that take place for the children as young adults, always with artists from elsewhere ... register is the message and paying as the parking places on the street: no parking provided: 9 am-8pm.
Very accessible museum. Exhibition Ensor very well built up.
Worth a visit.
Given it's a modern art museum with ever changing exhibitions, it's difficult to give a permanent evaluation of the museum - I liked about 70% of the current exhibitions, and guess that I can say the same thing about previous visits
The level dedicated to Spiliaert and Ensor is very good, the rest passable. Completely correct welcome
Expo Ensor and Spilliaert is small but nice .... 6 with a museum pass is not well understood. On the 1st and 2nd floor free exhibitions that are not very special .....
Very nice exhibition about Ensor. It is a pity that they have not exhibited their own paintings together with the paintings from Antwerp. It would have been even more valuable.
Beautiful museum in a somewhat old building which makes the museum even more fun. The exhibits are beautiful and diverse but never boring, there was a whole floor closed and still I found it worth the money. If I come to Ostend again, I will definitely visit it again
Beautiful museum, bright, where the works are well highlighted. Beautiful and interesting temporary exhibition based on discussions with Kinshasa.
The permanent exhibition of works by Ensor and Spilliaert is not very extensive, but allows us to discover these painters that we do not know very well in France.
Very nice space dedicated to James Ensor and Spilliaert. Beautiful exhibition dedicated to Raoul Servais.
We arrived and were received very friendly. Then we were pleasantly surprised by some beautiful pieces, a must if you are in Ostend.
Charming building that includes a beautiful collection of Ensor, Spilliaert and Masereel.
Eric van Hove exhibits on the ground floor ... very impressive !!
Grade II listed building that could use a makeover. Sometimes what a maze with mezzanine floors. Nice permanent collection. Interesting temporary exhibitions. Raoul Servais wing is worth it.
Original name, museum by the sea muZee haha do you understand him? Bold original right?
Great modern exhibitions. Special exhibitions worked out very well for the visitor. Faire. entrance fees
If you step in here you have to take and take time, this is a Large museum with a large G. Less suitable for children, there is a workshop for kids but this was closed. No places to catch your breath from the abundance of stimuli, no resto / cafe. Expand in terms of kids and rest zone for museum visitors and this will receive 5 stars.
I visited the beautiful, excellently documented Ensor-Spilliaert exhibition. The film pioneer of Ostend Henri Storck is not forgotten either. Very interesting is the genesis of the masterpiece The Entry of Christ in Brussels, and Ensor as a composer. his painting) The audio guide is lyrically excellent.
Worthwhile, the museum building itself is unfortunately aging
Despite some stays in Oostende over the years, I visited this museum, the Mu.Zee, for the first time. I found the visit very successful. Although a large part of the first floor was not accessible, since there is a new exhibition is set up, nevertheless, the 12, - Euro entrance (for adults, retirees 10, - Euro) for the visit of all exhibitions were appropriate.
This was the weirdest gallery experience of my life... We happened to turn up while a couple of floors were closed for the installation of new exhibitions and the place was empty, but two exhibitions were still on so we gave it a go. The Kinshasa one is great - definitely worth a visit with some really detailed pieces that were worth examining for ages, and a lot of artists exploring history and visions for the future in a wide range of media. The other exhibition was... Odd. The gallery doesn't seem to go in for explanations - so it was just big rooms full of pieces with no explanation and no context. Random things around the spaces and no directions as to where to go (we walked into a number of random dead ends). It felt like accidentally ending up behind the scenes at an abandoned museum. If you like the idea of a slightly disconcerting experience have a visit - otherwise you might want to make sure the other main galleries are open before visiting.
I really enjoyed the James Ensor exhibition, skipping other floors because I avoid postmodern art like the plague
Great contemporary museum for a small city like Ostend. The Servais expo is more than worth a visit
Pleasantly surprised by the Raoul Servais exhibition. Always nice to see Ensor, Spilliaert and Brusselmans again. Friendly lady at the counter.
As it should be Ostend also has its museum of contemporary art! Apart from a few exhibitions, there is not much to see. This museum is nonetheless useful .... when it rains ....
Superb, a pity that this museum to install in Ieper (Ypres) had to move, but happy to find that in Oostende.
Beautiful museum beautiful Ensor and Spillaert wing beautiful temporary exhibitions
James Ensor's hub.
The night of the museums and galleries 17/02/18. Missed? Next year another chance ... or not?
Relatively high entrance fee for limited collection. Rooms give a rather hermetic impression. Nevertheless, the works of Spilliaert and the collection around Raoul Servais are definitely worth the effort
Boring thing I've ever done. A lot of hot air together. Here and there a little explanation from so-called critics, on pictures on the wall, who will claim that they know perfectly what the artist in question thought and meant then ... Critic is, in my opinion, a profession for people who do nothing, can do nothing, except to sell small talk. Teachers apparently get a discount in this museum. If you have to discount even boring people to lure them ...
A very nice museum which, when I was there, presented, in addition to its exhibitions and its permanent collection, the magnificent works of James Ensor and Leon Spilliaert usually kept in the Antwerp museum. It was wonderful !
Otherwise, a diverse and rich collection and funny or exciting exhibitions (like the one devoted to the cartoonist Raoum Servais).
Very nice museum with diverse and varied collections!
Superb museum to see and review beautiful organization and welcoming to do
Looks like a fascinating museum, but work is underway on restoring the monument. The original format of arch. Eysselinck has almost disappeared.
Belgian art of XX century but few masterpieces. It is so badly organized that it is hard to find all the rooms. The only new part Spilliaert-Ensor is not bad.
Museum very well worth the look for the gallery Ensor and Spiaellert and the new space dedicated to Raoul Servais
That the ground floor to see, otherwise the floors are uninterested and ugly.
Very large and diverse selection, the Ensor exhibition completes the picture. I walked around for two hours without boredom. Museum shop was a bit lean in terms of supply and I personally missed a restaurant in the museum. Furthermore, top!
Friendly staff, received with a smile. Plenty of sanitary facilities, nice museum with various exhibitions. Highly recommended.
A must-see museum of modern and contemporary art. Highly recommended.
Ensor / Spilliaert grand piano is fantastic! The rest of the collection is also worth a visit, but lacks some coherence and interpretation. Definitely worth a visit. Unexpected bonus: collages by Panamarenko.
Beautiful collections, beautiful exhibitions but expensive entry and unfriendly staff to indicate that we do not have access to the whole museum ...
