I had this insurance with an employer and while no insurance provider is great, this one is by far the WORST!
My employer dropped them, I prefer to say we fired them.
I m sure they like reviews like this because it allows their sales team to show the prospective customers/employers how horrible they are for the employees.
Having been a funds administrator as well as having a short stint working for BCBS, I am pretty aware of insurance and this is almost like paying for a card that says you have insurance but no real benefits.
I work with 50 something people, they all called it scam-surance.

It almost felt like we paid for nothing and when they did cover something, a small percent would go to the deductible. Their customer service was very unprofessional and lacking knowledge to answer questions and when they did get someone who knew, they ran you in circles. They baffled you with bulls&@#.
They are NOT for employees and as I said before, most aren t great, however, this one was by far the worst of any I have yet to see. If a prospective employer offers this horrible plan - RUN but tell them your can t take the job because they have this ACS Benefit services.
You will pay through the nose for what seems like nothing.
I used to have doctor billing staff moan or grunt when I d mention Med-cost through ACS Benefit Services.
I gave them 1 star because you have to pick something. I would have rather have given them one of something else but thats not offered in the ratings.

I would give a zero if I could. All I tried to do was get an address to send receipts for reimbursements. They wouldn't give me an address without verifying my husband's information. I understand specific patient details, but a PHYSICAL ADDRESS!!! Horrible!

Insurance only payed less than $5 for a $500 medical bill. They say "we have no network so you choose your careteam" which translates to "you pay 99% of your bill". My local hospital and clinic's uninsured price is cheaper than paying this company's copayments, monthly bills, and the 99% of the remaining bill. I left my company of work because this insurance "benefit" is a bigger cost burden than if I work for a competitor with actual health insurance.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST company to deal with, period. I spent an hour trying to get a VERY simple question answered. I was misinformed by 2 different reps AND a supervisor. It took a conference call with the 3rd party who handles prior authorizations to finally get a solid answer. KEEP IN MIND, I was calling the plan, the folks who wrote the language of the policy and have it right in front of them, and was still misinformed! WHAT A WASTE!!! If you can at all avoid this company, DO SO! The supervisor finally came back on the line, after assuring me that she was correct and an authorization would be required by this particular group, only to inform me that in fact NO an authorization is not required.... If they can't read a policy just imagine what happens when it comes time to pay your claims.

There should really be an option to leave less than one star.
Incredibly poor customer service, website, and insurance coverage in general. Shocking that this is even a company. Good luck.

They are a terrible insurance! I can't even give them 1 star!! Awful customer service and they don't even try to help you with issues when you have questions. They didn't even pay for my annual preventative care like they were supposed to! Even the providers I talked to said they had a hard time getting responses from this insurance company!

Beyond horrible. They never send explanation of benefits (EOB) so cannot tell you are over the maximum. So glad many employers are ditching them for Met and others. Hopefully ACS will reap what they sow.
