Very comfy room, good food and good function rooms too.

We booked a spa day which lived up to our expectations. The only disappointment was the meal options, pretty bland. Next time we will have the afternoon tea. The facilities and staff did an amazing job. Great massage, would definitely book again.

If you want a nice okay to stay in central Manchester then this is one of few places to stay

I had a terrible experince in midland hotel 515 room.
I couldn't close the bathroom door. And the lights suddenly dropped while showering. I was in a dangerous situation.

The Midland was a Hotel that i had always wanted to stay at. The reality is the generally higher price you pay is for the history associated with this hotel. Its a lovely hotel from the outside, but as expected with an older hotel if you're after large rooms and modern room amenities you won't find it here. (In the standard room anyway). Room looked nice, but were tired and bathroom lacked a walk in shower. One lift was out of use. Staff we came into contact with were friendly and amenable. Location is great. The history and building of the hotel are fantastic. It's certainly somewhere i would stay again, but just missed the 5 star wow factor.

Good atmosphere. The food I was served was mediocre: dry chicken, undercooked potatoes, and the vegs could've been salted. Credits given for decoration and nice staff.

Despite need of renovation, the floors to the rooms smelt very musty and looked really tatty.

Only a one night stay. Room was clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel did appear run down in places. Our shower rail was only half fixed

We ate at The French by Simon Rogan today. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. Would highly recommend x

Absolutely lovely stay! Room was wonderful and the hotel had tons of character. The building is fairly old so expect long corridors and creaky floorboards. Good location- would stay again!

Good place for Xmas work party. Can't remember much. Sorry.

Champagne afternoon tea a real treat that tasted fantastic

I stayed here on the 17 July for one night in the midland suite the room was very poor there was mould on the ceiling the tv didn't work in the room and also the air conditioning switch fell of the wall there was also lip stick all over the bathroom and all over the bed you can open any of the windows in the room didn t dent open And the room smells big damp I would never stay here ever agin

The location was ideal as it was in Manchester City centre. Parking is also available just around the corner from the hotel. We stayed in a junior suite which was relaxing yet lovely. The bed was incredible comfortable too. All staff members were polite and willing to help with any needs or quaries. I would deffinitly recommend this hotel and possibly stay again in the near future.

Enjoyed it immensely a special treat for our granddaughter who loved the pool. Great staff and wonderful meals.

Visit to Mr Coopers was great...family time and great food.

Went for afternoon tea was lovely service could have been a little more attentive.

The "free" wifi service is worth every penny you pay for it. God forbid you need to access the internet for something critical related to your business - it is slow, flaky and will periodically cut out, implying that if you are connecting to your office through a VPN connection, you'll have to log back in every time.

Very disappointing - if i'd known beforehand, would never have booked rooms here.

Beautiful hotel, venue rooms were adequate, the rooms however are a little cluttered and stuffy.

Excellent large hotel in the centre of Manchester. 300 rooms. Very friendly and welcoming with comfortable beds and nicely decorated rooms. The pool area on the spa is on the small side but good - they limit usage to ensure it does not get too busy. The French is exceptional and the other restaurant also very good.

The recent changes to The Midland have made this historic and iconic hotel absolutely fabulous. Combines the traditional with the sophisticated now.

Went here for a Teaching Seminar. Lovely service and friendly staff. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The room was very big and spacious. The breakfast buffet was nice and the evening meal looked so delicious. I would have wished they had halal meal as my colleagues beef dinner looked so yummy. Instead I got the vegetarian option which was okay. The service from the waitors was excellent.

We stayed in a beautiful suite at this hotel for the last night of our holiday celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Just WOW! Alice made sure our room was perfect with her attention to detail and the little complementary gifts she left just made it more special. Thankyou Alice. We had a wonderful meal in Mr Cooper's, the food was delicious and Jordan our waiter was really attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou Jordan. I would highly recommend a stay here. Truly wonderful experience.

At Mr Cooper's for a meal. Food was great. Atmosphere a bit cold for my liking, though others may disagree. Food service great. Drinks service found wanting (eg ordered glass of white with my fish main course. Still not arrived after finished main course). Staff very friendly and professional. Pricing on point. Altogether, an enjoyable evening.

Amazing hotel with excellent facilities - good night's sleep and decent food

Lovey spacious rooms. Had a really good night's sleep in a quiet warm room...Lovely power shower. Only gripe was the towel rail heater wasn't working ...otherwise it would have been a 5 star review.. Had a buffet breakfast.....which was lovely and hot in a beautiful opulate dinning area. Staff very helpful and polite.

Absolute disgrace!
My girlfriend lives in a foreign country and flew in for a special occasion so I decided to stay at the Midland due to the spa and star rating.

Good conference venue with plenty of break out facilities. Buffet lunch good but not enough facilities for standing and eating the fork buffet.

Very grand building, great location, staff are helpful and friendly, fantastic breakfast in the morning. If it's a spa you want your going to be disappointed it not the best.

Neat room with bed, two armchairs & coffee table but a little too full. Everything neat. Unfortunately, lights cannot be switched on individually, but only in groups. Unfortunately not a single hook on the wall, neither in the room for the jacket (of course, there are hangers in the closet, but I don't want it) and not one (!) For the towels in the bathroom. Breakfast ok but not great.

The food and service at Mr.Coopers was excellent. Fantastic, relaxed vibe, accompanied by lovely decor.

Attended publishing drinks, was quite appropriate and relaxed atmosphere.

I attended a meeting with work here so cannot comment on the Hotel rooms but the conference room which we were in was great. It was a gigantic room with a decent sized stage up front. Acoustics were also pretty decent which can sometimes cause an issue at some venues. The coffee served was very average hence me dropping a star but the flap jacks were amazing!! Definitely reccomended if you need a large room for an event...

Always love this place and nothing ever slips. Fabulous building, bars, Tea rooms and of course The French. Words fail me how good the food is by Adam Reid and his team in there. A must visit if your in Manchester.

Quality hotel, close to everything except Old Trafford ... By taxi.

Rooms are very large and comfortable, if a little dated.

Stayed here a lot of times apart from the last 3 months. Went to use the steam room and asked if I had booked in advance. Was refused citing new policy. No one at reception told or offered to do this when checking in. If you check in late forget there is a spa!! ! Not staying here again

Stayed recently and the room was amazing. Breakfast was good, but in my opinion there are better breakfast places near by which are better value
