Very old hotel. Great location. In desperate need for an upgrade and re-vamp of the rooms. Although we were arguably in the nicest room of the hotel, there are lots of repairs and modernizations that need to happen. The parking was also a pretty unpleasant experience, with smells, old elevators and delays. The hotel itself was probably very luxurious in its time, but like i mentioned, the standards need to be maintained. Service was alright. If I had a choice, I would not come back. So sorry but I would choose another Marriott hotel!

Elegant! Large, comfortable and clean rooms. Helpful staff, excellent service, short taxi ride to tourist areas. There's a restaurant, Starbucks, pool and spa on premises. Loved it! Will def stay again upon return to Montreal!

I just want to give a shout out to Jennifer at check in. She gave us a free upgrade room with a view. That really made our stay special. I have never had a room with this awesome a view before!! I had just showered and came around the corner & had to grab my camera to catch these glorious colors! I will share a sunset view, & what it looked like when we 1st entered our room. Thank you Marriott for taking good care of us!!

Most of the staff are super friendly and the food (room service) quality is very good. Unfortunately that's it and it does not compensate nowhere near for the fact that this is an old and datet hotel that badly needs a full make-over. Barthoom is tiny and simply does not cater for today's needs. TV, aircon etc is all dated.

I m here right now and although the room is fine there was no mention that the hotel is being renovated in what seems like all the common areas. It s almost impossible to find the way in and then discover that you have to walk up to very long flights of outdoor steps to get to a door that you buzz that leads you to a basically construction site. The signage and lighting are very poor and felt generally unsafe. As far as I can see there are no amenities open in the hotel whatsoever including restaurants so not very pleased, for the price i would have stayed elsewhere if i had of known all i would get is basically a room with absolutely no amenities. Picture is the the deserted pedestrian entrance at the back of the hotel.

Loved the check-in experience. Asked for a high floor and the lady clarified whether I wanted a higher floor or a room with a view. I definitely wanted the view, which turns out is better on the middle floors. My only issue was that housekeeping started knocking on the door at 8 a.m. when I'd barely gotten up! Use the 'Do Not Disturb' until you're ready to check out.

Nice, big ish clean rooms. The "north"/park side has the nicest view, truly amazing. Currently (summer/fall 2020) undergoing renovations, the lobby os closed but they made do.
Service is excelent as well as the modern facilities.
The park in front is very nice but full (litterally tens) of homeless people, so don't count on soending time there is that makes you uncomfortable.
He area is full of stores and restaurants, all withing walking distance.
Parking is NOT free.
Would go back.

My son and I spent 3-days at the Marriott Chateau Champlain - we found the location perfectly convenient for frequent walks to restaurants and shopping, as well as venturing further to the old town.

Staff was friendly, fast and welcoming - exactly what you look for in a Marriott.

Valet parking had unlimited in/out access. Self park used the same underground lot - and we found to be more reasonable for a budget stop.
