This has to be the best course in the Algarve, very challenging but the views make up for any bad shots

From the moment you arrive till the moment you leave you are made to feel special.
All the staff and the service they provide is first class .
I have played Golf all over the World but for me this is the best course I have ever played.
Every hole is fantastic not one weak hole.
Don't look at the cost as it is more than worth it.
I will definitely be returning.

Ask most golfers that have played this course and they will tell you that this course is the best in Portugal. It is certainly a test for all handicaps and kept in fantastic condition. The price to play may put a lot of golfers off at 170 a round but this does include your buggy and if it's your first visit they present you with a name tag for your bag.

Not cheap, but price performance is definitely right.

Just went to Monte Rei to play golf, not to stay. Nice personal treatment from arrival at the club. The driving range was one of the best I've used and the course was very well maintained with lovely fairways. A nice mix of water and sand hazards. Wish I could have played more there.

5 star accommodation and 5 star golf experience BUT, remote location from townships. Captive prices after golf expensive. Little desire to stay and spend at 8.00 per pint, 16.00 per gin and tonic. A pity.

Monte Rei is the best golf resort l have played not only for the golf course for the helpfulness of the staff throughout. They make you feel good.

Best staff service level I have ever received on a golf course, a challenging course that looks visually tough but is wide enough to let it RIP. Enjoy the picture postcard view of every hole.

Probably the best course I have ever played. Today was the fourth time. However, for a greenfee of such a high price, the minimum would be to warn that the greens are punctured, it has been a disappointment to pay so much and not be able to enjoy the course.

Unbelievable experience warm and friendly greeting from staff from minute you drive in to the minute you leave. Course is superb makes the green fee worth every penny.Buggies with Gps practice range just enhance the whole experience and the surprise gift at the end of the round is pure class.

Great course! Very challenging. Be prepared for the ever changing wind. Your ball can go for several yards on the right line. The staff is amazing! From check in to leaving the course, you are treated outstandingly!

Hi Guys. I was there again for a week. It was super nice again. Very friendly and accommodating. Only the food in the clubhouse left a lot to be desired.
You don't have to. There are enough restaurants.

A gem of a golf course in Portugal!
A world-class golf course as difficult as it was picturesque, I would recommend a visit to Monte Rei. A friend and I were privileged to enjoy two rounds on the Jack Nicklaus signature course, and the tasting menu one evening. The 7 course meal was one of the best I've had. It may be similar to 2 Michelin Star standard, I'm not quite sure but it was superb. The villas are great and perfect for golfers or a family. We were spoilt throughout the trip by the staff who were both friendly and attentive. I look forward to going back soon.

By far the most breath taking golfcourse that I have ever played. From the moment you arrive at the clubhouse till the point that you drive back home. It was an epic journey. For me a handicapper 3, this golfcourse was tough but fair. I played the Tournament tees, I only recommend those tees if you average 290-310 yards off the tee.

We feel that we want to be on top and deserve the place of number 1 of Portuguese golf courses. It's done. A valet takes care of everything; park your car, take out your bag and install it on the cart.A welcome gift is offered.The practice is free 1 hour before the start (the balls deserve to be pro v1 but quite acceptable). buggy (necessary but included in the green fee) is equipped with GPS, you are offered the drink and a fruit. The course that it is just fantastic, almost all the holes are holes signature.Parcours difficult, I am hcp 8.A make and redo a lot of times, only the price of the green fee (justified) you will prevent

Played this madness place today. Only goes with club cars. 18 holes built into a rocky landscape seeks its same. Green fee costs from 170 euros to 250 euros. A little too expensive. But you should have played it once. The madness. wolfgang

In a word, what a job ... what a service super !!!!!

A fantastic experience from arrival to departure. We had the golf and tapas package. This was a proper 4 course lunch par excellance! Course was in great shape. Buggy bar came past 3 times with iced flannels to keep you cool and refreshed. Nice touch!

Set on over 400 hectares in the East Algarve countryside, this refined country club with villa accommodations is 9 km from the Praia da Manta Rota beach and 13 km from Castle of Castro Marim.

The 1- to 4-bedroom villas inspired by traditional Portuguese architecture feature a neutral palette with dark, rich accents. Amenities include kitchens, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and DVD players; some have outdoor dining areas and terraces. The 4-bedroom villas add private pools.

There are 4 restaurants and 2 bars. Recreational amenities include a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, swimming pools, tennis courts, a gym, a spa and a kids' club.

You have to play this course even if the price is high.
Very demanding, take enough balls with you.

Amazing, best course I've ever played, whole experience was fantastic

Visited the Grill Resturant today, it was mediocre at best. My partners amuse-bouche had a very noticeable hair in it. Upon realising he had not eaten it the waitress asked what had happend he pointed out the hair to her, only to receive the response oh ok & that was that, no apology or offer of fresh dish, she just took it away - appalling & not what you would expect from such a place. They then had the audacity to put it on our bill & try to charge us for it! Having eaten at plenty of other golf resorts/clubs in the Algarve both service and food are significantly better elsewhere. Certainly won t be going back & would advise others to check their food thoroughly before eating.

The management seams not to have the proper education to solve complaints from customers in a de-escalating manner.

Best golf course in Portugal just behind Westcliffs

Sometimes you will hit jackpot And if you choose to visit Monte Rei Golf on your golf trip to Portugal, you will This is one of the most beautiful, challenging and fun golf courses, I have ever played. The silence is overwhelming, the same is the service of the staff. And never felt a golf round so short - we just wanted to play it all over again. We will undoubtedly come back
