Best skiing in the area. Long trails and good variety of hills for different skill levels. Came here on a PD day with the kids and the hills were wide open. No line ups, sunny and warm. Friendly service at the rental counter.

Best skiing in proximity to Ottawa / Gatineau. Wait times for the lifts are often less than a minute = more time skiing than Tremblant!

Fantastic skiing within an hour of the National Capital!! Probably the best kept skiing secret in the North East. That may be going a little too far but to have a small mountain of that caliber that close to a Million people and being used only sparingly is truly amazing! Once Americans discover this mountain with the weak Canadian dollar lookout!
Great quiet resort in the back country. One hill for beginner/intermidiate & one for advance / expert. My son love the "train"!

First visit and it was a nice hill for a fairly beginner snowboarder like myself. I've always had anxiety getting off any lifts but this is the first place that actively slows down right when you're about to get off, giving you enough time and confidence to gently get off the chair without falling. Thanks for that!
The ski is great. The slopes are very nice. Staff at ski rental and chair lift are very friendly & accommodating with young children. Very enjoyable!

I go here for mountain biking. They have done a lot of work on the trails. Some really nice downhills and some great climbs.
Was there with my wife on a beautiful Friday in February for a day of skiing. Superb day, just a few degrees below freezing, almost complete sunshine, groomed hardpack and, more importantly, virtually no liftlines.
Downside of the area is the relatively small and unattractive accommodation for people who bring their own lunches in the main lodge and no warmup facilities of any kind on the Chevil Blanc hill.
Mont Ste Marie is normally never closed on Mondays and Tuesday. If you are unsure please call customer service. They have two lifts: Vanier (main hill) and Cheval Blanc (secondary hill). Cheval Blanc is the only lift closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please stop spreading false information.
Wow !! A very nice ski setup for all levels! Intermediate and advanced skiers are thrilled by the slopes !! The most beautiful mountain in the Outaouais!
Long trails only for experts. They have two mountains and one of them is strictly for experts. Wonderful view and scenic. Usually not crowded.

Great ski hill! They even have a border cross course! Spent all of our afternoon in it, it was the coolest thing ever! Will go back just for that!
Slopes are great! It is not enough space on the ground level to find for change.
Ski hills have good height. But both times we went, the slopes were very icy and it wasn't fun. Maybe bad luck, but I wouldn't spend another 1.5 hour driving there.

The hill is open at Mont Ste Marie & they're doing their best to keep everyone safe, during Covid ski season. You are allowed to use the bathrooms upstairs only. I would normally give 5 star rating to this hill but there are only 3 runs open. Limited snow this year, & not the ski hills fault.

I love the idea of Mont Ste Marie but I feel like there could be significantly better execution in some places.
1) the last time we went, checked the conditions online and it said machine groomed. Ok, no problem. We get there, pay full price lift tickets and jump on the trolly to Cheval Blanc. When we get to the top of the lift there's a sign that says "Less than ideal ski conditions". Ok, so why was this not adressed at the BOTTOM of the hill, BEFORE we went up to the top? There was a huge ditch of mud in the middle of Carousel as we were coming down.
2) The counter staff, ski patrol and lifties are all extremely pleasant people.
3) The last couple of times I've been in the cafeteria, the cook staff were arguing and yelling at each other. This was not only uncomfortable, but made me have to wait even longer for my food as I had to wait until one person was done telling another how useless they were before taking my order. I could see how a parent with a young child may be offended as there was very liberal profanity being thrown around amongst them.
4) The price of energy drinks is ludicrous. I grabbed a Rockstar with my lunch as I was late meeting my friends that morning and missed the opportunity to grab a coffee on the way in. When I brought my food to the cashier she looked at me and said "honey, you know that's nine dollars, right?". I looked down at my tray and I assumed she meant for the whole thing as I had a slice of pizza, an apple and a Rockstar. "Yeah, no problem..". So she says "ok, I just wanted to make sure you knew the drink was $9". Its cheaper to drink beer in the bar!
5) There needs to be a better job done of keeping people from congregating in the middle of the run at the edge of any lip/drop/change in elevation. It's dangerous.
All in all, I do like MSM, and I can't wait to get back up there, I just feel there are things to improve on. The Dustin Cook run is by far my favourite thing to shred.
Mont Ste. Marie has amazing mountain biking trails. Been there several times, always enjoyed it. Especially if they have the lifts running. They continually add and improve the trail network. Well worth the visit if you enjoy mountain biking.
Short lines, fair prices, highest elevation in the region
It was amazing although I was expecting more hills. There are 2 main runs at the front and a few at the back if you take the shuttle. And there was a lot of ice patches. But in general it was really fun.
Great place for more intermediate and advanced skiers, fantastic teachers for learning, and a helpful community of regulars.
My all time favourite ski hill...
First skied MSM in 1993 and still prefer to ski here then other larger known mountains. Reason is that the lines are usually non existent, the staff are incredibly friendly and the runs usually have superior grooming.
Did I mention the chair lifts are also fast!

Things don't change much at Mont Ste Marie... This means the service is excellent, cheerful and obliging. The runs continue to be perfectly groomed. The beer after a ski there tastes extra good and I swear they still have the special best hotdogs around.
Beautiful ski destination. Great staff. Runs are not really challenging, but they are a nice length and beautiful scenery. Apres ski always good.
Great hill, amazing staff. The hill is always groomed really nicely and the detachable quad gets you up quickly. I also love the little train that takes you over to cheval blanc, it's very handy. The lodge is very nice, there's lots of space. All and all it's a great hill with lots of good runs and I would very much recommend this hill to friends.The only thing that could have been better would had to have been the terrain park, it could have been a bit bigger.
I was there with my friends and husband who played music for this establishment yesterday between 3-6, Feb. 17, 2019, and they were treated like cattle from the manager who has long blond hair and glasses. She was extremely rude!!! I've never seen anything like that ever!! I plan on talking to the owner about this situation. She should not be working there, let alone be a manager!!
I never went but I was impressed by the quality of the tracks and the price is not that raise.

Best ski terrain in the Ottawa area -- well worth the drive. Best value Wednesday through Friday when both hills are open. Check ahead of time for special events such as races, which can limit access to some runs and lead to congestion in the restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great ski patrol.
Great Hill. Bigger than anything near Ottawa but smaller than Tremblant with high speed lifts. They often overstate their conditions and don't groom as much as camp fortune. So go soon after the snow has fallen and there has not been rain.
Great mtb trails. You dont even need the lift if you aren't afraid of climbing switchbacks.
A fun time for mountain biking. Trails are reasonably accessible and cost of a lift ticket isn't too bad.

We got to do about 2 runs this weekend before the lift broke down for 4 hours. Good job by ski patrol for getting people down, but horrible job by owners for not giving refunds or lift ticket passes for the trouble.
Best skiing in the Valley. Love the lodge and the runs. Worth every minute of the drive.
Went on a beautiful day, it was busy but the lifts are fast enough that it wasn't an issue at all. Lots of runs to choose from, wouldn't really recommend for fresh beginners. Its more geared toward to people with a few seasons of experience. For people looking for lots of jumps, there are two snow parks, and plenty of areas on the runs where you can get some air. Would recommend.
