This place was a complete disappointment. Small rooms for ridiculous prices. My phone for room service didnt even work. Went to the front desk TWICE for them to fix it. No one came. And for a one night stay was charged over 800 dollars. Still after three weeks after my stay, I still recieve charges on my card. Keep looking for hotels because this place is overrated.

Let me begin by admitting I'm pretty discerning. That said, Molly Pitcher Inn has a fine reputation and I expect the service to live up to it. I've been dining with friends in the lovely bar for several months now, up until today always on Fridays. Fridays are usually hopping yet the service has always been impeccable. Today, my husband and I decided to go on Sunday mid- afternoon. The place was empty. One other table besides ours. It began ok with our drink order, then went downhill. We placed food orders. My husbands came out first but mine never came. After several inquiries the server finally came out with my entree in one hand and another tables entree in her other hand. I couldn't believe she brought the entree to the other table - who arrived and ordered well after we did and had no delay issue - then brought mine. I told her that meals should be brought at the same time. She blamed the cook. After another 10 minutes she brought my husbands fries, which she had forgotten. Ok, at this point, I said to my husband, all is good, its water under the bridge. Shes trying. All good. Little did we know. My husband asked for a second drink. (There are only two tables, mind you.) She passed us up to bring his drink to the other table. Ok, a small faux pas but it gives you an idea of her attentiveness. It gets worse. The other table paid and now couldn't find their credit card. Our server solicits other employees to search the restaurant with flashlights. She is crawling around under tables, and when unsuccessful, she loudly announces that she can use more eyes! Apparently the patrons are now expected to join in the search. We feebly search our area, while a table full of new people who just arrived felt compelled to join in the search! It was a 3 ring circus. She walks by our table muttering that she's being blamed for losing the credit card but it was the customer, not her. How unprofessional! As if this wasn't enough, she stops to tell me that Sundays is brunch day so this was all the fault of that. I asked her how she connected the brunch to losing a credit card and she just walked away. Now its time for coffee. My husbands arrives, I'm waiting. Several minutes goes by and she finally arrives with it. But do you think I actually got it? No. She gets distracted and stops right at our table holding it but has a discussion with another person so never puts the coffee down. I asked her can I have it?! At this point she confronts me and says I've been having a lot of problems with her and what is my problem! I was speechless. I blurted out that she was the worst server I've ever had in my life! I shouldn't have but she drove me to it! She stormed off saying she was going to make sure I was never allowed in there again! A few minutes later she came back and left the check. She announced that I will be punished by God for my actions! It was insane!! I asked to speak to a manager and she said he wasn't there. I asked to speak to whomever was covering for him and she told me he was next door at Oyster Point and I was free to take a hike over there. This person does Molly Pitcher's image a serious injustice. I will still frequent the bar for dinner but in the future I will check to see which server is on duty before sitting down. If this server is there, we will move on to one of the many other restaurants Red Bank has to offer.

Molly Pitcher Inn is very stately and a welcoming approach to Red Bank. We had our office Holiday Party here this year. Which was my first visit to Red Bank. Talking about first impressions, MPI definitely gave me the urge to come back to Red Bank and explore some more. It reminds me of a grand mansion that traded it's compound and recreational grounds for the water banks and it's beautiful visage - panoramic! They have a modest but homey lobby with a pleasant and attentive concierge and staff. They Multiple ballrooms of event spaces that are well appointed victorian art decorated ceilings, grand chandeliers and wall adornments; this creates a sophisticated frame with the versatility to host any kind of event. It is removed just enough to provide a recluse, but still in close proximity to downtown broad street and the entertainment hub of Red Bank. I took a ride through downtown and saw a lot of bars, restaurants and activities that make for a fun town. Plus most of my colleagues found mpi the perfect place to start the festivities which will typically finish with some after party bar-hopping. I look forward to returning with my family to take in some more of what comes highly recommended as a fun town; and of course MPI will be a considered if we plan to stay the night.

BEWARE..bait and switch. Room did not look anything like the pictures. Room was old and TINY. I was told by guy at front desk that he "can't help what pictures are online" he could put me in another room for an extra $60.

Very nice restaurant. It is formal, they have wonderful food, attentive wait staff all with an amazing waterfront view. The desserts were as good as the meals. We had such a fun time, great service and an amazing meal. The whole experience was over the top. Two thumbs up.
Everything was fantastic!

Attended a 70th birthday party. Beautiful location with gorgeous water view. Excellent food with very good service. Very disappointed the hotel does not accommodate families with small children though. There are no changing tables in any of the bathrooms. I asked several employees what I should do as my son's diaper was about to start leaking. No one knew. One suggested a bench in the downstairs bathroom. Once I got down there, there was no bench. Finally someone went back upstairs and got a key to one of the conference rooms where I was able to change my son on the floor.

Very good breakfast buffet! Not a huge selection, but food and service is very good. The view is one of the best on the Navesink River - great place to hold a group function, party, or wedding!

Good location for food and services, half a mile from the train station, great service, but the restaurant was only okay (unseasoned, overcooked fish with unseasoned mashed potatoes and carrots). Water pressure was good, and the blankets and room heater were good.

Entering the hotel and looking forward to seeing the lobby decorated for the holidays...but that Molly hospitality was missing before we stepped foot inside. Instead, we were met in the foyer of what looked and felt like a misdirected step into a mens bathroom. 3 men, dressed in red, sitting, and staring at their pants. A closer look and the 3 men were heads down scrolling their phones. Still, not pretty. No man looked up, no greeting. I realize they were valets, but it might as well have been a mens bathroom, with missing stall doors. The 3 men just took up space as my party walked into the "stall" single file, walking cautiously, as if there might be a drain or urinal cake to step over. This image took time to shake as we then entered the lobby. Finally, we were greeted with the classic Molly spirit, as we made it to the lobby and were finally greeted with smiles, people standing, and lovely holiday decor. I just couldnt shake the tone of our arrival..it litterally put a bad urinal cake taste in my mouth for the rest of our visit..and we had to leave the same way we came in...it was like leaving a remarkable Broadway play like Hamilton, then going back to the underground parking garage, and walking into the attendants booth, grab your keys, walk through their bathroom, then get to leave. It is such a simple fix. Stop starring at your zipper, and greet guests at the door. (Opening the door is clearly not their job description)I will be coming back this holiday season and will take pictures as i enter the front foyer 'stall' so everyone can see what im talking about and give their feedback. Until then, share your Molly Pitcher 'stall' photos! Poor Molly, Rich in history, depraved in chivalry.

Lovely, quaint room, but many small annoyances. Not enough outlets (for our devices), couldn't deadbolt our door, breakfast muffins were plain and too small, shades in room didn't close... it's not a bad hotel, but their price for a room should include better amenities.

My husband and I stopped in the lounge to get a quick bite to eat last Saturday night. The lady playing piano sounded so good that we ended up staying to listen for 2 hours.(also the food and service as always was great). Dining room or lounge, the view of the Navesink River is awesome!

What a great way to end the summer!!!! Finally our lives have returned to normal after my daughter's wedding Labor Day Weekend at the Molly Pitcher Inn. We would like to thank Judy, Christian our awesome maitre d, and the entire staff at MPI for allowing us to finally relax and enjoy the wedding weekend!!! Honestly, words cannot express how grateful we are that everything worked out seamlessly. You can most definitely sense the pride of all the employees at MPI from Christian, who was truly so professional and accommodating, to the people at the front desk. Many of our guests took advantage of this lovely hotel, staying from Friday through Monday enjoying all the festivities, and every employee made the guests feel special. I assume the slogan at the MPI is my pleasure because I had several employees say that to me, and each time it was spoken, it felt sincere. What a wonderful way to respond to guests!!!! Special thanks to Judy for arranging that delicious post wedding breakfast. It was such a nice way of thanking our guests, and we loved hearing all the positive feedback about the wedding. Everything was perfect the weather, the view, the ceremony, the accommodations, Christian and the rest of the staff. MPI is a little hidden gem that I will certainly be revisiting. Thanks for all the wonderful memories.

Satisfied customer of this hotel that promises very well from the arrival in the parking lot

Pro- Excellent experience. Ended up in this village almost by accident the night before the return flight to Italy, from New York coming from Miami. As soon as we arrived, an inconvenience, a room that was an igloo to say the least, I went to the reception and received a complimentary upgrade to a superior room to apologize for the inconvenience. Correct and polite staff. The village is worth a visit, very cute.

I love the food here. It is on the more expensive side, but the quality is excellent. The crab cakes are delicious. The decor is nice and the view is amazing. The service is professional and friendly. My staff has been here multiple times for lunch and we all leave satisfied every time. I highly recommend the restaurant.

The Molly Pitcher Inn never disappoints, whether attending a social event or having lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch. The food is delicious and beautifully presented served riverside with spectacular views of the Navesink River. I would always recommend the Molly Pitcher to anyone who is new to this area (residents, like me already know and love The Molly).

Very nice, quaint hotel. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was a wedding going on the first night of our stay and you could barely tell it was there because the place was so well organized. I would highly recommend and will go back during summer to stay there again.

If there is a party or event going on in the ballroom and you are staying on the second floor anywhere near it you are screwed if you or your kids need to sleep before 11pm.

The hotel itself is fine, just not well noise insolated.

Maybe staffs need bit of courtesy. Or prepare some water fountains. I asked for water and the bar was few steps away. If I were a staff, I would offer to pour the cup of water from the tap instead of saying "bar is closed now"

Not good service at all. I stayed there for a wedding. My sleep was interrupted multiple times. I had the do not disturb sign on the door and house keeping without knocking tried to enter the room by unlocking at 8AM, then again at 9AM. Mind you the checkout was 11AM. Further they don't offer late checkout either. They just want you out...they really dont have any inclination of hospitality. As per the ammeneties, the rooms are tiny...smaller than any hotel you would find in Tokyo or NYC. I should have rather stayed at a chain and spent less and had a good night sleep. Do not waste your money here.

Lovely spot with historic overtones. As some of the other reviews have stated, the rooms aren't overly large, but very well maintained. The staff is very pleasant from the check in to the bar/lounge crew. We ate at the restaurant one night and it was excellent. If you are in this area, you should definitely consider the Molly Pitcher Inn.

My room is very clean and the bed very comfortable. Unfortunately there was a bus tour so the towels at the poolside were not refreshed and the bus tour also cleaned out the muffins and coffee this morning besides that everything was fantastic.

There are probably people who stay here and have a...

There are probably people who stay here and have a good experience - I am not one of them. My stay here was the result of an unfortunate family event. To make matters worse, I was on crutches because I had recently broken my foot. Those 2 things were not their fault. Everything else was. I had reached out ahead of time about my foot and a manager responded and assured me they could accommodate me despite my foot. I was relieved. I was wrong to be.

First, despite being told that I would be able to check in immediately when I got there, my room was not ready. I never actually got to find out what room that one was. So, in their infinite wisdom, they gave me a room so small that you couldn't even turn around when I wasn't holding my foot up and being on crutches. This is a big problem when you are on crutches - you can't really turn on a dime. Next room involved a flight of stairs and a hall - but that wasn't the bad part. The bad part was that there was an actual haze of dust in the air and on everything. It was actually hard for my wife and I to breathe. Tried to get some water because the trip down on crutches made me thirsty and there was so much visible sediment in the water that I couldn't drink it. So after that debacle, they said they would put me in a suite which sounded like it would at least be big enough for me to turn around and not be covered in dust. Now both of these things were true, though almost barely - but their idea of a suite was basically the size and condition of a regular 3-star (industry standard) hotel room. But I was glad to be done with the ordeal. The bathroom was a bit challenging but no way was I ready for round 4.

So I am sure that this doesn't sound like it is worthy of a 1 star review. To that, I will say that you have never been on crutches. If they had told me that they weren't really set up for such a situation, I would have thanked them and happily made other arrangements. Instead, they told me that they totally understood the situation and would have it all taken care of when I got there.

All of that aside, other than being old, this place does not have much going for it. Even if my foot were not broken, I doubt I would give it more than 3 stars. The rooms are small. Because of the number of family members we had there, I had the chance to see many of the rooms and they were not particularly nice. Behind the facade of the old front building, there is what is essentially 2 other much newer buildings that stretch way back with a giant pool area in between that looks more like it was built for spring break rather than a 'luxury' hotel extension (room number 2 was in one of these extensions and I am guessing all of the dust was because they probably only really use those rooms during the warmer months).

Long story short, there was no luxury at this luxury hotel. It's just another hotel that thinks a fancy lobby gives them the right to charge more and call themselves a luxury hotel.

I am not sure that I would consider this a 5 star hotel? There was no coffee making facilities in the room and I needed to go to the airport at 4am. This meant that I needed to get the taxi to take me somewhere else for coffee. There was no room service at that time either. There was only 1 plug in the room which was at the end of the bed. Not a great position!

Breakfast was not included which I also find strange as a business traveller. Only muffins and coffee were free.

And coffee was available in the lobby from 6am.

The hotel is in a nice place on the waterfront.

No problem with services, and personal was exceptional. Easy access from all directions. Dining room over looks a beautiful body of water where you can see people enjoying water sports in summer and in winter it is a wonderland. All sorts of food and beverage, absolutely delicious food.

I had a great experience. My girlfriend booked us an overnight stay for my birthday and planned out a fun bar crawl for food and drinks. The hotel was located within walking distance to everything. The room was spacious and clean and we had a nice view of the pool area and could also see a bit of the river. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a nice restaurant and a rooftop bar overlooking the water. Also they have a great gym so you can get a nice workout in after a fun night of eating and drinking at all the fun bars and restaurants Redbank has to offer.

i come in in the summer for a lovely and sophisticated lunch, with an interesting menu and a view of the sailboats on the river that can't be beat!(pricing for lunch and worth every penny) the brunch is by far the best i've ever had (and i've had many!) and also worth every penny. the fact that they are booked for mother's day 10 minutes afteer they begin taking reservations speaks volumes!

We stayed here the evening before the New Jersey Marathon. They had a wedding booked and we were blasted with loud music all night. We tried to get a new room but they told us they were sold out. This hotel has the audacity to require guests to sign a no party waiver at check in but then has no regard for the guest s decent nights rest. Be very careful when booking here. It seems that weddings are booked most weekends. It s a lot of money to pay and be up all night listening to a crappy DJ. When we asked Ariel at the front desk to have the manager address our concerns she told us the manager would not be around before our checkout.

Had a great Sunday brunch this past weekend at the Molly Pitcher with my family for my Mother s Birthday. The food was great and plentiful. The service was great also. My only complaint is to install a diaper changing station in your men s room!!! My husband and I had to change our daughter in the car.
