The food was very good with many excellent choices not found at most local Japanese restaurants. We will definitely be back to try more items in the future. The service however was horrible. After waiting well beyond what would be considered a reasonable time, we had to ask several times for someone to take our drink order then had to ask again for someone to take our dinner order. The water glasses were kept nice and full by the back of house staff but the servers were inattentive.

Great food, but they had live music on Saturday. If you like live music, I suppose it's okay, but my friends and I had to shout to each other for a conversation. It's definitely not a great place for a group of people that want to talk to each other and eat.

Went here for a good selection of vegetarian Japanese. Wasn t impressed at all. Ordered spicy cauliflower, vegan ramen soup, shojin sushi. Spicy cauliflower was unappealing and felt tasteless. Vegan ramen was alright and sushi was a complete disappointment. Service was fine and so was the ambiance.

This restaurant is basically trying to be Xanh but failing -- and charging Xanh prices. Same food and aiming for the same atmosphere but not done nearly as well. It wasn't terrible, but given the choice between Xanh and 3Ta, we're choosing Xanh every time for sure.

Not sure that I can properly put into words just how good every bit of this was! Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savory pancake containing a variety of ingredients. The name is derived from the word okonomi, meaning "what you like" or "what you want", and yaki meaning "grilled" or "cooked". Ours was made with noodles, cabbage, crab and squid. LOVED IT! Came to the table piping hot as did every other dish we had. The Chicken Karaage was very good, could have eaten the entire thing myself. The 3 Mushroom Fried Rice was another favorite, completely vegetarian but so rich and delicious! Service was very friendly and prompt. Interior decor is very nice but we opted to sit out front under the trees as the weather was gorgeous. I need to go back, soon. There are a lot of other items on the menu that I need to try!

When I went to the sun, the menu was renewed, the interior was a bit new, and overall it was delicious. It feels like a normal izakaya.
The name is also a clerk and there are no Japanese clerk at all, so it looks like a mine, but in fact it is a pretty good store.

Service was great, but food quite disappointing. The chicken heart skewers was totally dry and tasteless. The sushi rice was easily breaking into pieces. The scallop sashimi was not very fresh. The wings was also not authentic. I was expecting much better food from a place on Castro main street.

Bushido is a good, affordable Japanese restaurant on Castro street. Ramen and sushi rolls are typically $12-15. My ramen was good, although the pork wasn't impressive. The sign at the host desk advertises a free shot of sake when you check in on Yelp or Facebook, but I never received one after I showed the check-in to my server.

Came here last month with a few friends. Was recommended to come here and it delivered. The staff is really nice and always checked up on us and cleared our tables whenever we needed empty plates to be cleared. They also followed Covid safety protocols and our tables were distant from other people which felt safe

The food was fantastic. They had $5 happy hour handrolls that I ordered and my other friends ordered rolls that were delicious. I will definitely come back to hear again!

We went on a Saturday night and they had live music. This was just the cherry on the cake. We ordered sushi , gyoza and seaweed salad. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious. I highly recommend trying this out if you haven't already.

Had the signature ramen before and was okay. But the dishes were nice! The pancake is rare to find and it was super good. You can even choose sauces half and half, though both were tasty! The seafood veg soup is really comfortable to have and the yuzu sauce is something you don t want to miss. The red dragon maki was good as well with crispy prawn and kinky sauces.
Will definitely go back!

In the sushi section, tried the Rainbow roll, California, Dynamite, Bushido, and Dragon roll. They were all delicious, each more so than the last. Each of them were prepared well and held together even when dunked in soy. Also tried the Tamago, which was on the sweeter side, just like the Sake Sangria.

Sushi was good. Tempura was okay. Others are below average, and I mean food itself can be disappointing considering apparently the environment is towards a more upscale side. Had four types of yakitori, only beef tongue was okay, rest was either too dry or chewy. Sukiyaki was too sweet and beef inside was way too over-cooked. The side udon with sukiyaki was a bit sticking with each other. Although they had a nice band playing.

Came here cause I had a big group for my bday party. We all enjoyed the food and had a great time. They have a good variety of NICE Japanese whiskeys. Most Japanese restaurants don't have this. If you're into whisky, this is the place to go to. We also chilled outside for a bit. Cool spot.

Bushido ramen was very good. Balanced soup. Milky style. The pork belly side dish was tender but a bit too sweet for my taste. Service was very very friendly. Definitely a repeat for the ramen

The food tastes not bad, but service is in dire need of improvement.
We surprisingly received something we did not order. When we asked the waitress about this she said she input the wrong order and then asked us if we would like to order what we really wanted in addition to what was already on the table. After we politely declined, the waitress tried asking us approximately 10 times to order more food... so we asked for the check. When she brought the check over, she dropped it on the floor, said "oops" then walked away. We did not appreciate the attitude or the service. There are other venues nearby. It's not worth coming here with the current quality of service.

This ramen restaurant is delicious and a great environment. We sat at one of the tables separated from the chaos of the restaurant by tapestries, which brought the noise level to reasonable conversation level. The veggie ramen was super, and the eggplant stater was highly recommendable.

Tried dishes: pork gyoza, bushido ramen, and crispy rice with pork belly.

It was okay, not that it was bad, but it wasn t good. Servers are nice, but I wouldn t go back. Current review, 4.2, is pretty overrated.

Nice interior, friendly personnel and a nice choice of options for lunch or dinner.

I really love their happy hours: decent cocktails for only $5 as well as sushi rolls, oysters and other appetizers for a light evening meal.

The atmosphere is more calm and quite than in Eureka! across the street so if you'd like to meet with friend for cocktails and be able to talk then you should visit this place.

This is one of my favorite places in Mountain View. The garlic butter soy corn is delicious, and so is the three mushroom fried rice, I get both every time we go here. I had the negi Toro roll last time which was amazing. The beef sukiyaki was also spectacular, I can t wait to go back.

This was our first time here and I can say it is already my first choice in Castro. It is the perfect Izakaya that serves practically every Japanese style from sushi to Yakitori to okokomiaki to beef sukiyaki to tempura and I am not even have way done. I highly recommend the kurobata pork with egg and tempura.

Food is a la carte and in smaller portions considering the price. Not even rice or miso soup comes with any dinner plates. The dishes were tasty but I left a little underwhelmed. Mixed drinks are creative but they skimp during happy hour. I would recommend this place for appetizers and drinks, but not for dinner.

An izakaya where you can eat Japanese food that is quite good for the United States. There seems to be a lot of rice noodles that are savory until they become buyobuyo, but the udon here was fine. The menu that I definitely want to keep down is yakisoba! Why is noodles really soba? Was it a bit misunderstood (laughs), but if you are looking for an izakaya in this neighborhood, why not go there?

Horrible experience!!! The waiter messed up my order and I needed up eating ghost pepper in my sushi. The curry tasted like nasty gravy and the chicken was undercooked. Bad experience and the food was awful!

I went here on a Thursday where they have happy hour drinks all night. $6 for some interesting/unique cocktails was quite good, especially for the area. I got their shrimp tempura udon. The udon was good and the broth was very tasty (I drank all of it!), but the shrimp tempura was nothing special. Overall I'd recommend this spot, but more so for the drinks than food.
