The environment was cool. It had cool pictures on the wall. The service was excellent. It had a great lay back feel to it. My one complaint would be the pull pork and the collard greens. The was okay. It taste like pulled pork you can get anywhere. The collard greens was not good. They had some kind of oil on them and they didn't have any taste on them. The environment was cool. I would not visit this place again but overall the place was okay........ my girlfriend said the burger was great. It had big toppings on it. She didn't like that she could not get the ketchup out of the old school bottle. I just hit hard for and come out. I like that the fries was hand cut. Really it is a nice place for some people. Oh 2.99 for a sode. Overpriced for quantity and quality.

Incredible BBQ!!.. and the sides are all so wonderful!!.. It sux having to pick just 2.. I usually order an extra side. The smoked yellow corn is about as good as corn gets!

Everything was extra salty. Couldn't even tell the difference between the brisket and pork.

Not quite as tasty as No. 4, but we're talking about splitting hairs. You'd be doing yourself a great disservice not to get the burnt ends absolutely every time you come here.

The sauces are great - especially the vinegar sauce with the Carolina pulled pork - which means you're getting the greens and black eyed peas if you go that route.

Many whiskey options as well... if that's your thing.

PS: Really wish they'd bring back the pork belly appetizer.

If you go ask for Chris he is amazing and on point. Also if you are a regular they will remember you and are always pleasant no matter how rough the lunch rush was you will never know it by their friendly smiles and greetings. I always feel welcomed whenever I come.

Love this place! Best bbq ever! All home made dressings. The fries are to die for. A little tip you can order half orders of the appetizers. Love their Fried Green Tomatoes.

Love the food at times, however, we've noticed a decline over the past couple of months, the Manager seems pre-occupied and not focused on guests or the quality of the food. Looks as if he was out all night! People are unforgiving in a covid situation. Get it together, cause when good it's great!

After living in North Carolina for 25 years, this was a taste of home! Had the Carolina Pork, with the vinigar (Eastern style) sauce, and it was just right! Nothing wrong with the barbecue slaw either. That and an I-10 made for a fine lunch. I'll be back!

They're perfectly willing to create an order that isn't on the menu exactly how you like it.
I've been to this location more times than I can count, and I always find myself coming back for business meetings, holidays, and other personal effects.

The waiting staff is awesome, giving it a real wholesome appeal.

A co-worker and I went here on a tuesday just before noon. We both ordered the same thing....2 meat combo lunch with 2 sides. Make double sure you are hungry if you do this, we could have split one lunch. Brisket was very moist, not as tender as I have experienced other places. You know those pictures where they show a slice of brisket hanging by one finger and if it's really tender it will drape over the finger like a curtain?? This wasn't that, but still good and allowed me to discover their mustard sauce. Pulled pork was awesome, especially married with their slaw relish and vinegar based sauce. Pit BBQ beans and cole slaw caused me to make myself miserable by consuming too much. Service(Elena) was on point. I don't see room for improvement anywhere. Oh wait, the iced tea had too much ice.....yes, that's the only complaint I can come up with.

I feel bad finally leaving a review of a restaurant I used to love, but for the 3rd straight time, I've opened my box to see a pinch of meat for $16. Literally FAAAAAAR less than a sandwich's worth of meat total on a 2 meat combo. The flavor is always good, but the portion size has become ABYSMAL!

Food was very good but the acoustics are good. Very loud.

Food below average ... cornbread had been microwaved many times until they served it rock hard and scorched. Garlic grits didn't even taste edible. Sunday night must be a unload all the leftovers of the week

Delicious! Meat is tender, ribs fall off the bone, chicken is juicy, even the sides are perfect. First time I can say I've had good "restaurant" collards. To top it all off, if you get Sarah as your server you'll be in BBQ heaven.

I've been looking for good brisket in Jax for a long time. While it wasn't the best brisket I've ever had it was still really good. The rest of the bbq was really good too. The sweet potatoes were perfect and the banana puddin was awesome. The atmosphere had a very southern feel and the blues music added a good feel. And I didn't feel sick after I ate which was a plus.

Very good barbecue, nice atmosphere. Good selection of catfish & Chicken on the menu also. Nice sides and appetizers including fried Green tomatoes.

One of my favorite places in Jacksonville. The St. Louis ribs are delicious. The sweet sauce there is my favorite BBQ sauce. Amazing!

Great food! I love the Turkey, not processed, hand carved. Mashed potatoes with white gravy, greens, black eyed peas, banana pudding are my favs. But honestly, all is good. Staff always friendly. Family ate there on New Years Day, we had all the good luck staples. High ceilings make for a noisy meal when crowded. Like being inside a new hive. All was quiet for today's meal

our server Dustin was on top of his game!! all of our food came out quickly and my drink was never empty. the brisket sandwich was great and they do fried pickles perfectly. love the decor also!!

Had the Mojo Lunch BBQ salad with Turkey. Excellent tasting BBQ Turkey over a bed of greens with cucumber and cherry tomatoes topped with cheese. Large size portion for a lunch salad.

In my opinion this is one of the best local BBQ places that you can eat at. they have all fresh main dishes even the sides are made themselves and are high quality. I love the corn and the mac and cheese the best. pulled pork is great and I've also had the salmon on occasion and it's also excellent. Service is also very good consistently every time I visit.

Best BBQ in Jacksonville, hands down!!! Their seasoning is awesome. Pulled pork is the best, and the macaroni and cheese is second to none. Definitely have to try it if you haven't yet!!!

Best burnt ends in Jax. Good atmosphere and service. Quick too! Not the cheapest thought.

GREAT BBQ. I love to bring family and friends from out of town here. It's the best BBQ in JAX that I know of. I really like that they have a lot of fun BBQ items on their menu (BBQ Quesadilla, BBQ Nachos) that give you a lot of options for whatever you want.

Great food and atmosphere. I will say that this is not your traditional barbecue restaurant but their food is very good. I enjoyed that the atmosphere is very lively and the service there s always been great. I deathly recommend going here sometime.

Gave it a 4 ..but sometimes like tonight it can be a 5. I've always ordered delivery do that could have something to do with it. Ribs r great fall off bone and there is very little bone to begin with. Pricey but worth it. The mashed potatoes are excellent and the encrusted mac and cheese are amazing too. I saw another review mention it being like Texas bbq but it's more like Georgia bbq to me. In fact there is mojo in Georgia which was first place I ate it. Not sure if they are connected but its definitely southeastern soul food either way. Rarely do you order mashed potatoes that you can tell are really potatoes cause the skin is in there too and its amazing. I've ordered a few times and meat has only been dry once but that could be delivery service fault. Highly recommended at any rate.

This is the best BBQ restaurant I have been to in Jacksonville. Their susage is great and there turkey is always juicy and delicious. Mac and cheese is good greens are good and there salads have a ton of meat and are worth every penny!

Great bbq at fair price.....beef brisket is a must try!

We are from up north ( Michigan) randomly chose this place and so glad we did! Delicious and very generous portion sizes. Really cool atmosphere.

I cater BBQ, but when I go out to eat BBQ I only go to MOJO BBQ.

Atmosphere was great, low lighting and roomy booths. But the food was surprisingly expensive for what we got. $60 for 2 people for fried chicken plates.

We went here for our 1 year company anniversary. It was good. You get plenty of food for the price.

I ordered the burnt end appetizer with the two meat combo. All of my items were Luke warm nearly room temp. The burnt ends were very salty and everything else was bland and underwhelming. I decided to give them a try based off all the positive reviews so I m rather disappointed. One positive however, was that the wait staff was friendly and courteous. I will likely not return.

Place a little messy, but Bradley our server did quite well and the food was great. Worth mentioning...very prompt service!

Tried the shrimp and grits for the first time after many trips here. De-lish! Lots of spicy shrimp, chunks of meat, no gravy per se, which I prefer, and sauteed onions and mushrooms. Really good depth of flavor. Large portions mean good leftovers as well.

Ate here for dinner (around 4:30 on Friday). Place was pretty dead, aside for 2 other tables. Ordered the brisket with Collard green and coleslaw, with an order of the wings to go. The Brisket was pretty good, the sauces were OK. The Collard greens were probably the best I've had from a restaurant that wasn't, you know, I'll say "country". Anyway, the service and atmosphere was good, people were filing in around 5 so I took my wings and left.

I got home and ate the wings and I was BLOWN AWAY. I heard that their wings are smoked and then flash fried, and they made for the best wings I've ever had. No sauce was needed here. The were delicious and were had good size. I will probably make regular trips from the opposite end of University just to for the wings.

My boyfriend and I's favorite BBQ place in town! We actually went here on our first date and continue to revisit to satisfy our bbq cravings! They have some of the best sauces too! I always enjoy the pulled pork and the garlic bread. The service is also always friendly and on point.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, putting tables together for our party. Our server was attentive, but didn't hover. The food was hot and delicious! I got the 2 meat platter with 2 sides from the lunch menu, I had enough food to take some home! Their Mac and Cheese is excellent. Basic BBQ done well, no frills.

Some of the best pulled pork I've had. Definitely a favorite BBQ of mine across the board.
