Not professional at all, please please trust these reviews. Firstly, had to keep calling to check on our application until they finally responded. We called to set up a tour (luckily didn t pay the fee like other people in the reviews) and drove out 2.5 hours to view the home (we re moving). They cancelled our tour less than 30 minutes before our tour, and that s only because we called them first. Don t waste your time, look elsewhere cause it s not worth it.
This place doesn't even deserve to have one star they never fixed anything right when I told them my stove was not working right all they did was come in turn it on and saw it worked but not property but did nothing do not rent from this place. They will let mold continue to grow and just try to say the wall is dirty.
Modern property has been billing me for my neighbors utilities. I live in a home that originally had a vacant basement and the landlord split utilities 80/20. The owner of the building had a family member and a friend move in without telling modern property. I have been paying for my neighbors utilities for months and modern property only has our neighbors on the books for a couple months. However, I am still paying for my neighbors utilities. The 80/20 split was decided for all names on the lease. The two people in the basement are NOT on my lease or utility addendum. I am being charged for the majority of the utilities being billed even though I should be splitting with the tenants 50/50. I do NOT want to pay for my neighbors utilities based off a leasing addendum that the neighbors are NOT on. In the middle of the dispute modern property transferred management of the property and sent over the 80/20 utility proration addendum to our new property company Real Properties. (Savannah at modern on a phone call on Feb 1st 2021 said we would prorate utilities 50/50 with the neighbors who moved in). When asked for the 50/50 split in writing Savanah declined.
I called before paying the fee that I needed to before I could tour their location because I knew that I was not going to be in town long and had to tour then. It was a now or never situation. They said that they would be able to tour us, so I paid the fee. They then sent a message to cancel and never responded to me afterwards.
MPG seem to be intent on being slumlords. Leasing agents are rude and act as if you're doing them a favor by renting from them. They refused to fix even the most simple problems like sticking drains and broken window locks. Air conditioner failed multiple times. Winter pipes bursting sent in a crew who used my electricity to run industrial blowers for 5 days and then did not reinstall the carpet. Was left with carpet that just lay on the floor with the seams and edges loose that would catch you feet and other objects. They never put in as much as a doorknob and then just raised my rent for no reason. I paid a professional cleaner to come in and they still kept my entire deposit. I have filed a small claims court filing as I took video of the unit as I departed and they still claimed that they used my entire deposit "cleaning". Everything is a money grab from the "application fee" to the "security deposit". Entire staff is rude from the front desk to everyone who hides in the back offices.
I rent from them going on 3y now. They are easy to work with and quick to respond on any maintenance problems at any time, emergency or nonemergency.
My maintenance request was completed without any inconvenience.
