Always great service and a nice clean environment. Worth the money

After being told I would only need to wait 15-20 min for a beard trim. I sat down for over 45 min. With out end in site, and with out any service I had to leave.

First time here for a great therapeutic massage from Received a great therapeutic massage from Trina, an expert at her craft. While waiting I watched a hair stylist work with a customer and thought to myself that this is a place where a guy could come and get some great advice on which hair style might look best for him.

This is a great place for a good guys hair cut and a good community of people. Nick at the front desk is a nice upbeat guy. I ve visited three different hairdressers here and each of them has been much better than average. In particular, I ve been seeing Melissa (Mel) for over a year now, and I will be very sad if she ever leaves. She s the best, and I always enjoy our monthly chats.

Most can give you a nice look, some can give you a wonderful experience, but Modern Male is the only place I've found that understand the business side of why hair is important. My name is Jakob, I am a local speaker and entertainer currently building my brand from the ground up, that being said, first impressions are HUGE in my industry as well as my branding.

I can say with 100% certainty that I will now be a regular client with Modern male, they sketched out a rough idea of what I was looking for based on what I was looking for before I even sat in the chair then delivered above and beyond. Krista was absolutely delightful, skilled and passionate about her work as well as the ambiance they provide to their clientele. It's truly rare to walk into a location where everyone is on the same page and passionate about their line of work, it's something remarkable.

I had my haircut today with Jason at and he was amazing! SUPER comfortable environment! Quaint, inviting, very clean (obviously adhering to the public health recommendations for COVID, so like no stress at all while being in the business!). I've never been before and I will absolutely go back to Jason! Amazing fade too! If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!

Great service and customer experience. Been a regular at Modern Male for 10+ years. Getting the express facial after my haircut is a very relaxing experience (highly recommended).

Went in originally hoping to get a straight shave on my head. Was informed that they don't do those. No big deal, after that though I thought I would get a trim of some kind. I tried to ask some questions, but was quickly brushed off. The girl at the front would barely make eye contact with me when I would try to ask a question. This started to frustrate me further when someone walked in behind me and quickly was greeted by the girl I was trying to get some help from. She smiled and asked him a few questions to get him in and cut. At this point I was very frustrated and asked if I should just call and make an appointment for another day. She answered"Sure"and went back to looking down and not wanting to be helpful. I put the menu of services back and left. Not a fan of feeling disrespected especially when I am trying to be respectful. This happened a few months ago now, but just got around to writing it.

Laid back and comfortable. Best haircut and massage that I have ever had! I will never go anywhere else. This place is awesome! Mel and Sarah are both incredible! They both did a GREAT job!!

Jordan, the esthetician, is a master of her craft. Whether it's skin care, mani/pedi, or waxing; she knows the latest trends and how to make you look your best.

I think the spa is a really good concept. The place is fairly comfortable and quiet. My spouse bought me a few services and for the most part it was okay.
The reason why I can only rated as a one star is because they quoted my spouse the wrong amount of the services she purchased for me and did not include tax on the overall cost. This oversight on their part caused an awkward moment at the register when I turned in my gift certificate and was told I owe more money.
Utterly unacceptable, this ruined my spouse's efforts and surprise.
I won't be going back.

First time at a male spa and after this experience it won't be my last. I arrived a few minutes early to my appointment and service was prompt and on time. Great service and atmosphere.

Been going here for years! Melissa does an awesome job but have never had a bad cut from any of the others. Shampoo, hot towel shave and style are all part of the package. Grab a beer or glass of wine while you wait too! The ultimate salon for men.

Very professional. I had my hair cut done by Lauren. She did a really good job and has now become my go-to hair stylist.

My hair is very difficult to cut, I used to drive all the way back to Youngstown, OH to get my hair cut by a person who has cut my hair my entire life. She was the only one I trusted to cut my hair, but it was beginning to be more and more difficult to find time to drive home every 2 or 3 weeks. After going to many local barbers and salons (and several bad haircuts later), I found Modern Male. It seemed that they were the only place that was able to cut my hair the way I wanted, and seemed like the only place who actually listened to my directions and cared. Plus the facilities are nice, where else can you watch sports center, grab a drink and get your haircut properly. From my experience Modern Male is in a league of their own.

The only con is that it can be a bit pricey, but they give you a free cleanup 2 weeks after your haircut.

I look forward to my periodic grooming maintenance (hair cut, or beard trim) at Modern Male and am never disappointed with the courteous service and professional treatment I receive. When I need to treat myself as a reward for achieving health goals, finishing a big project at work or at home, I turn straight to the folks on Darby Street for a facial, massage or the whole-9-yards of personal services they provide.

Barb and the Team there are the best.

Excellent atmosphere with people that do excellent work. Ive never really had a bad experience. They also have great products on the side for any of your self care needs. I like that they have a nice selection of beverages too, though i never get a chance to try any of this.

Great first experience. Good vibe. Appreciate they have beer and professional barbers. Will be back.

This place is, hands down, the best place for a guy to get a haircut in Columbus. Newcomers should ask for Travis, he is the best.

Lauren was awesome! Second time I ve had my haircut by her and both times were amazing. She truly understood my hair and the style that I wanted. Very enjoyable to have a conversation with. I would recommend to everyone.

Horrible management. I had a client who asked me specifically about nutrition and after I shared my expertise with him the owner freaked out and fired me!
I have two Masters degrees and a medical board license. I am confident she was upset due to little to no education, and felt out of place in the conversation! Absolutely horrible person to promote business for obviously!
Guests see price changes after services as well so go to a PENZONE based establishment instead.

What a great experience! Went in for a facial and was amazed at how relaxed and at ease she made me feel. The cleansers and the way she gently applied them made my face feel wonderful. Just remember to wear a hat when you leave because she massages your scalp. The shoulder massage topped off a very relaxing morning. I will definitely be back.

Great service, but get price in advance and document it. Got a "basic" pedicure for $25 in June. Made reservation for another basic pedicure in early August. After (excellent) service performed, was told I owed $65. Said there must be a mistake. A woman came out who appeared to be a manager/owner. Said they don't do (and have never done) $25 basic pedicures. She obviously lied to my face and insulted my intelligence. The extra $40 won't break me (although I left half the tip I was planning to leave), and I didn't raise a fuss, but I have a serious problem with companies that lie to their customers.

Have been getting massage therapy here for 2 years. Staff is awesome. Service excellent every time. Incredible value.

I have been a loyal customer at Modern Male for over 2 years due to the time and attention I receive from my stylist every time I go. I used to go to one of those strip mall places, but the day I heard the girl cutting my hair say, "I can do 8 cuts per hour" as she was rapidly cutting my hair I knew I was done. I went to Modern Male and I'll never go back to one of those other shops. The whole experience is a 10 from the time you walk in, where they offer you a drink, to when I'm leaving. I get a great cut, have an enjoyable conversation with my stylist, and always leave very satisfied. If you are looking for a quality experience, there is nowhere better than Modern Male!
