Mlk skate rink Review

I'm glad we have a place like it in our community, wish there was no need for metal detectors and armed guards though.

I don't like places where children under 12 have to get searched by a security officer, SMH. I mean come on now.

Is a very violent place to be and it's very scary. The large crowds all the time but fine if you're coming during the week they just have a birthday party for your child usually really crowded security is really rude and so our employees the best day to come in during the week Tuesday through Thursday

Great place, I took my kids there on Friday and they loved it. I found out that every Friday from 4:00pm -6:30 it's only $1.00 for admission and $3.00 for skates. Me and my husband bowl while the kids was skating. The only problem I had was most of the games wasn't working.

Was there for a childs birthday party and this place is ok. it was difficult to explain to a group of kids why they had to be wanded/pocket patted by cops. Nothing special about my experience.

It's fun to skate there and I'm going next saturday

They really need to do some improvements there, especially with their bowling area

If you're looking to skate ONLY then it's great place, if your doing a party there don't expect much

The bathroom was nasty I had to ask them to turn on the games it open at 6 the girl didn't come to the window to 620 the works we're in the office talking when we did get in it was dark it took a minute for them to turn on the lights the food took over thirty minutes to get ready not my first time going ready get good service the works that day March 14 we're terrible

Fun place. Pretty reasonable pricing. Food was good. Service was good. Kids enjoyed bowling. Even the security there was nice.

Fun place for the family. Reasonable prices. The only thing I dislike is the arcade area. Most of the games are not in order.

This place is in one of the worst neighborhoods in Chicago. Beware!!!

I love coming here because I just remember the good old times hanging out with friends and just having a blast! Never a good skater but doing my best to spin in circles. In the end, you'll see me hanging on to the side and try to not fall. I love skating! It's fun when you're with good people!

Very horrible experience. Will not ever go there again! Wasted money for an unnecessary party, for only 4 kids, people sitting and using my table that didn't come with me. Received tokens, but all of the arcade games were broken. There were no tickets in 4 of them. It was a horrible experience. One of the employees was nasty and rude to me for no reason at all. It was overly packed. It seems like there are tables on top of tables, and it's barely any room for people to walk past these so-called "sections". I was being bumped into while sitting trying to eat. I wanted pepperoni pizza, they brung me cheese instead. Our waiter was so busy, she barely could care for my needs. In addition for paying over $100 for 4 kids, I had to pay $10 for those skate assist things, all for other kids to take them and use them, when we went to the bathroom. It was horrible. Never again...

It was good my great niece had lits of fun. The Smurfs came out as we were packing up to leave. I think they should of came out a little earlier so the birthday kids could of taken pictures with them.

I threw my youngest and oldest nieces two birthday parties at the same time yesterday evening and Natori(a) was our host. She was very polite, understanding, accommodating and EXTREMELY patient because I had 30+ guest, so I was trying to accommodate and entertain them all, so I was running/skating around like a chicken with my head cut off. If I said I would come back to her and then I got lead astray, she would just wait patiently. I apologized allllll evening and she would kindly say it was ok. Other than that, the price, I caught a major deal. The $119 package deal was on sale for $75 for each party and it came with a lot of things, my bday princesses were thrilled, especially when they allowed the children to turn in their skates during the last 15mins and opened the flor up for them to dance. All the children and their parents had an AWESOME TIME! A while back, I hosted a TeamTurneround group outting with my program kids there and we did a combo, skating and bowling, at a reasonable price and their were some major hiccups but Bre**** ( sorry can't remember her name, it was very unique), she was a manager, she took great care of us and made sure we were happy. Booking and the party sign-in process were a breeze.

So the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5:
1.) When booking, they made me come into the facility to pay for the bday parties, but last time I was able to make a payment over the phone for my group outting. That was a HUGE inconvenience. I had to take a long lunch at work, which made me have to stay late.

2.) I think a party and their regular sessions hours should be at least 4 hours minimum, 3 hours is so my newt to have fun and party.

3.) LASTLY, I ASSUmed with the package my kiddos would get a FREE pass to come back, but they were passes for them and a friend to get in free, but in very small print it says skates are not included. How wonderful! I guess they have to make money somehow.

But overall, great experience during the day, not to sure about the late evening hours. Considering doing a skate outting for my program children's parents during adult skate night, but I haven't heard too many good things to ensure I will plan it. Maybe...

2 thumbs up for our host and all of the staff, especially the young men dancing and working the floor picking up kids and adults that have fallen.

A place you can and learn two (2) different ways your style of 'FUN' , This is building up the real 'You' . People don't know how skilled that are until they step forward ,and showing their Stuff !!!

They need to do better with their customer service.

The size of the rink is excellent. However, the DIRTY FLOOD is very aggravating. I'd love to see some improvement. Each new manager inherited the same problem. Intermediate and advanced skaters can really tell the difference. Well, I'll continue to pray and hope for change. Really don't want to go somewhere else.

Management is horrible! I was incurring about doing a skate party their. I asked about their insurance and they actually told me, they do not have insurance! I couldn't believe they ran a skating Rink with no insurance.

We moved our skate party to the Rink on 87. Much better experience.

I love coming here with my niece, we always have a great time. Lanika and Teaira are always very pleasant, I appreciate their willingness to make sure we leave every visit smiling. These ladies are friendly its always a pleasure to be welcomed with smiling faces

ive been here a couple times. the bowling area is fun, and they sell ice cream in there. they also sell food on the roller skating side, but its a little expensive. i also dont know how to roller skate, but the area for it seemed decently sized. they had music and lights and stuff.

Its home away from home have a lot of love and respect for the workers there

The staff was rude and the security gards was pushing the kids and parents out the door one even pushed me with my child in my arms

Staff was nice and helpful. My kids and i enjoyed ourselves. It was my son's first time skating and the ref on the floor was so caring and sweet and helpful. I don't think you can get that service anywhere. Thanks guys!!!

This place leaves alot to be desired. The lack of professionalism is sickening. The customer service is sub par, they don't even communicate with each other properly as a staff. They want you to pay to breathe!! Half the games didn't work, and they kept forgetting my tokens! I ran back and forth to the front desk way more than I should have. And to make matters worse, they wanded the children. Frisking and wanding kids?? Really. Never again! And I had to wipe off my own tables! But several employees looking like there's nothing to do. A joke! Never again!!

All of the staff were trying to give different prices at the gate and I think it's a shame how you have to pay $5 for one of the skate assistance or I don't know if the guy was just trying to hustle me out of $5 I will never come back to this place again

Took a group of high schoolers here for an after school event. The facility is clean in my opinion. While it may be in a rougher area, they do have security, who checks each person as they enter. I felt very safe here. We did not get the food so I cannot comment on that, but the skates and the rink seemed great. The kids really enjoyed it. The music is loud, but its popular rap music as well as some throw backs. The prices for groups are very reasonable. I think we will be back!

This place is a death trap and a rip off. They locked us in during the session, made us clean our own bowling shoes ( and all they had was a liquid spray), our bowling shoes were soaking wet so we asked for a refund. They insisted that their was nothing they could do (excepta nacho tray). Didn't start the game until the session was almost over and was very rude when asking us to leave! I will never return and suggest they make some improvements.

Had a good time, music was on point, too! A bit crowded @ 4:30 - 5pm but what do you expect for a Saturday. Roller skates were in great condition, bowling balls were put away by size and weight. Staff was not that attentive in the bowling area but was very on point In the skating ring. Great atmosphere, mature adults who watched after their kids. Very impressed...will be going back again soon!

Today was my first and last day attended this place.The customer service is horrible. They charge me $9.00 for my 1 year old granddaughter who just start walking and she wasn't even skating. I ask for a manager and she was very rude as well. I was trying to explain to her that she just start walking and the manager just walk away from me. Overall horrible place and bad customer service from the manager on down to the staff. I will be calling corporate office.

This is a nice place to hold an event. Pleasant and courteous staff will assist you.

I went there for a field trip and I learned how to skate there it's the best it's very fun also

Very nice place to go. But need to up grade to bigger space so the children can have a separate place to change their skates. Also would like to see a dance floor added. So children and parents that can't skate they can go to the dancing room.

Nice place to take your children. Call for special prices. When I and my kids would go they had $1.99, or less from 4-6 .family meal deals $18 dollars family pizza and unlimited beverage. But they've changed their deals now. Call or look on the website for new prices. Nice place for your kids birthday party.
