I really enjoy the falaf salad. Lots of vegan options and topping choices, which I love. The line can get long during the lunch hour but it moves really quickly. This location in particular is similar to most others in the city, nothing really stands out.
Great salads, but super expensive. $17 for a salad and a water!
fabulous organic green salads for lunch; many options for lettuces and topings - get there early -the lines are long
Always a great place for a salad! I usually get the one from the list, but the options to create your own are limitless. A bit pricey, but that's SF for you.
We got our salads to go. Staff were so nice. Portions are large
Great salads but just not worth the price. The line is always out the door at lunch time at this location.
really nothing but great experiences here, so i will be back.
Salads are excellent here. Long lines (because salads are good). Seating is limited, noisy inside. Online orders hard to do, but a go-to for tasty lunch.
Oh mixt greens, you give me mixed feelings! They definitely use fresh high quality ingredients for their salads but I still can't process the thought of paying $10+ for a salad! I will say that this place definitely beats all the other salad bars in the financial district though. You can custom order your salad with a variety of organic toppings or go with one of their salads off the menu - nice that you get to watch your salad made and tossed right in front of you. Arrive a little before noon to beat the lunch crowds!
A tad pricey? Yes. But the salads are are really good. Customizable to your liking and comes in a big box. TRY THE MADISON. Line may look long sometimes but they are really fast.
I'm a little torn about this place. Pros: They have about as good a selection as you're ever going to find at a salad bar place. I really like the way they put their salads together: greens (mixed, iceberg, butter, spinach, kale), staples (croutons, beets, cheeses, carrots, etc), premiums (candied walnuts, mushrooms, etc), and protein (chicken, salmon, tuna, turkey, steak). They have a good variety of dressings, and everything seems to be really high quality. Cons: It's a little on the spendy side, but the biggest problem is the line. Good lord, the line. It can seriously take 30 minutes just to get in and out of this place. Is any salad really worth 30 minutes? Ultimately I really like this place and I want to go again, but it's one of those places where you have to be strategic or lose most of your lunch break to the line game. My order: Spinach, chicken, caramelized onions, beets, spicy peanuts, goat cheese, avocado, balsamic vinaigrette.
The Bachelor had some delicious steak and a wonderful dressing!
Get here right when they open to avoid the long lines and design your own fabulous fresh salad from the millions of options. If you can't get here early, they do have a cooler near the front door with some pre-made salads and then you can cut the "make salad" line and head straight to the register. Sometimes the salad makers don't seem to understand when I say "very light" dressing, but that's a minor quibble.
It was so appetizing. The service was very helpful and welcoming.
service is always excellent even when they have a full house. service is typically good. it has a great atmosphere.
Amazing food! After 9 days visiting California, I was wondering when I would have a meal that blew me away. I didn't expect it to be from a sandwich shop, but this place was a real treat! The four of us each got something different and we all LOVED our selections. We ordered takeout, so I can't comment on ambiance or service, but I promise their sandwiches are some of the best out there!
This place will surprise you. Looking forward to returning with my friends. Prices are reasonable I would say. Atmosphere and food reminds me of Virginia Beach.
The Cowboy is my favorite. Be prepared for a long lunch line. It does move fairly quickly. On a nice day you can sit at the tables outside.
Awesome salads, and very fast service (even during lunch time).
Solid make-your-own salad spot. Spending $12-16 on lunch is pretty much the norm in downtown SF nowadays, so not really sure why there are complaints about the price here. Long line, but it moved very quickly. Overall positive experience.
I often get Mixt Greens and the Plant confused but the big differentiator is Mixt Greens is mostly known for the salads, the Plant has more of a full menu. You can either pick your toppings (all organic ingredients) or choose one of their presets. My favorite is the Cowboy - bacon, roast chicken, butter lettuce with ranch dressing. Tip - don't go to the ones downtown during the lunchtime rush M-F or at least try to get their before noon or you'll wait.
Interesting place and concept on the salad making process. You will love it if you want to choose everything single thing that goes in your salad as it has a lot of options for every single step of the salad making process. I found it to be a little pricey (but I am not from SFO) although the portion size was quite healthy and I could not finish it. I would have preferred some preset options which make life easier for people instead of ending to choose a weird combo.
Excellent Salad. They make the experience fun with good atmosphere and quick salad construction in front of you. I felt this was a filling lunch for a salad good components. I could use a little more quinoa and avocado, but really who couldn't?
The place itself is really clean and has good service. Food is fresh and as the name implies it is healthy. A lot of variety but do avoid during lunch as lines can be long
Line moves quick, salads are consistent, portions are substantial.
