The hot spring water is really smooth. Water is much smoother and better than parakai. The temperature is high, and it is recommended to hot spring enthusiasts. It is a shame that there is no shade.

Kind and clean But without shade, defenseless in sunlight -1 point
I think it's a good idea to get a sock hat
Great place to stop by on rainy days or evenings, not winter
Packed lunches, fish and chips, nachos

Without a doubt, Miranda Hot Springs is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy this wonderful hot spring water surrounding your body. It is so invigorating for the body and mind. We try to get there at least once a week, if not more. WARNING: Do not stay in the water too long as it can sap your energy without you realising it. A Life Guard is in attendance at all times.

Way too expensive for such an outdated low quality facility that hasn't changed in 20+ years.

$14 for an adult to enjoy a cracked concrete, paint peeling pool with dirty water full of hair and floating skin particles, an aged changing / shower facilities with dirty toilets and rusty fittings. The cafe is mediocre and food quality ok.
The place hasn't had any renovations or upgrades in at least 20 years.
The only + is that there are some BBQ and picnic facilities.

It's ok, private spa was good. Went into the big pool and noticed a couple where a women was scratching dead skin off/ pressing pimples off her partners back in the water then another women with bad toe fungus got in the pool. That's when we decided to leave as we where so disgusted. There is no supervision around to check for these things or life guards. Very unhyghinic.

Great place for a thermal soak. Very chilled through the week. A good time to go.
Huge main pool. Spa pools, as well as private ones. Kids pool too. Although not any of their food area was open if you wanted a bite to eat after. However a good fish and chips just up the road for dinner or lunches.

Sooo convenient to get to from Auckland. Real thermal water, not that heated chlorinated garbage. Large pool is pretty warm most of the time and smaller pool at end is the best. Nice and hot Private cedar spas are also nice for those more intimate times.
I haven't tried the hot food but the cold drinks are appreciated when you forget to bring something.
Don't forget to visit the Kaiaua Fish shop just down the road. Check the times so you aren't disappointed.

Sad to say my opinion is that the pools will never reopen still looks like it did before they closed and ring the number on the website and they say to check the website and yet the last up date was a 6 months ago because of covid.
Obviously the owners don't care anymore what a wast of a love spot

The Hot Springs are very crowded with no ambience. I suppose I'm thinking a little bit of scenery as you might find at camping grounds that have pools. The eating area is awful. Broken walls.nothing nice about this area. Young people hanging about the shop staff. Coffee very ordinary. Very disappointed. At $9.50 just to be a spectator seems a bit much.

Liked the pools. Staff were a major let down. So rude!!! Will never return there. We travelled from auckland, to spend the day here and it was a terrible experience because of staff. They need to be trained asap on how to speak to their PAYING customers

Water is nice, but the facility is really dirty. The changing rooms, toilets, shower room are in very poor and dirty condition. I was starting to wonder if I was in New Zealand. An upgrade/renovation of the facility is desperately needed.

The staff were very friendly. I thought the drive was out the way and the prices a bit on the steep side. The facilities are adequate with a grass patch, some BBQs, tables and chairs, change rooms toilets and a single shower. Everything looks like it could do with a bit of a spruce up. I would have appreciated a bit of shade covering over the pool. The cafe had good food and wonderful service.

This place is largely the same as 20 years ago. A "rustic" kiwi thermal bathing experience, with decent fish and chips onsite. Great outing with the family - just don't expect fancy facilities.

Stayed at the Miranda holiday Park. It was fantastic.
Went and ordered dinner next door at the hot springs takeaway.
It was rubbish, so over priced. While we will be back to the holiday Park. We will not go next door.
* Footnote*
Miranda hot springs are a separate entity to the holiday park.

Not the prettiest - definitely not insta-worthy but a great value hot pool with reliable facilities if you are interested in the benefits other than just something to do around Auckland. We go here weekly in the winter to rest the muscles after a hearty gym sesh. There's only hot pools (and one kids pool but no thanks) so it's not smart to come here if it's over 15'C outside. Otherwise it's just too hot.
