I had a fab 3 years at Swansea between 1986 and 1989. I lived in Lewis Jones Hall on campus for the 1st year and then in Mumbles for years 2 and 3. We did the Mumbles' mile on a Saturday night ending up in Cinderella's nightclub. I studied Microbiology but have somehow ended up teaching at a university on Education. I am still friends with people I met at Swansea and we still meet up .

I cannot over estimate how beautiful this univetsity is.

Situated in a beautiful city that has an award for outstanding natural beauty.

It is one of the most diverse universities I have visited(and I have visited a few). The university has 2 campuses and this is the singleton campus.
It is home to courses that aren't management, engineering or computer science related.

If you are looking for a university that is passionate about giving you a nice blend between outstanding academic performance and impeccable student life, then I must recommend Swansea University as a destination you wont regret.

Hard to believe that it's over 50 years since my freshers week in Swansea! My three years was most enjoyable and rewarding both educationally and socially. And what a location!
The University keeps alumni in touch with frequent emails and SAIL, the newsletter. As a result I've been able to keep in touch with developments on the campus which have been truly impressive. My impression is the University remains a vibrant place to live and learn.

Professional services here are a disaster. Students don't count on getting a year abroad sorted out. Cheap and cheerful, academic quality lacking, not serious about building up library resources etc.

I absolutely loved my time at Swansea U. They have a wide array of societies you can join, wether it's academic, athletic, cultural, or otherwise social. So much more than my previous uni in London. The location is awesome- right by the beach and a park, or two, and close to town ( walkable, or by bus).
I had great acamedic experiences at Swansea, and I totally miss it and the people there.
I lived in student housing at Beck House in the Uplands area, which is the best area in Swansea in my opinion - both super charming and trendy with awesome places for drinks and food, and also a great walking distance to uni, as well as the town centre, though I'd usually bus home if I went shopping.

The campus is awesome, never seen a campus naturally so enriched. Loved the sea-sore, wall plants. I have studied in three different universities in London, so such campus is something comes out of dream. I felt kinda jealous of those who study there.

I studied Zoology and Oceanography at Swansea (1969-1972).
The First year I lived at Nuedd Martin (now gone) and shared a room with an anthropology student.
I made friends with some very special people some of whom who I have recently caught up with.
There were some field trips to Ireland and Wales and regular trips out in Swansea bay on the Oceancrest. I would have liked to carry on with my subjects but back then it was hard to find jobs in those fields and I was told women weren't allowed on the research ships! So I went into teaching and spent my best years working with SEN children.
In the second year I escaped the hall of residence rules (such as having to obtain a pass to stay out too long at night!) and shared a house called the Bosuns retreat at mumbles with six girls and one boy (how did he survive?).
In the third year I moved into a chalet at Brandy cove and got a Honda 50.
I returned twice to visit my old haunts with family and friends.
I would have loved to stay in the area. The Gower is wonderful and I have many memories of the people I met, all of them happy. I have a few photos from those years which I treasure

I had a great experience studying, volunteering, living and working at Swansea University. Relaxed and supportive university (2011-2014) - college of Arts & Humanities history department and library. Great volunteer opportunities at Egypt Centre on site, recommend getting involved in societies, volunteering as a Student Ambassador and chance to apply to a paid role.

Have just completed a degree in Aerospace Engineering at Swansea University and can honestly say it deserves the highest praise. As a university, a social experience and a place to go it has been an absolute privilege to go here and while it s not all been amazing, as a 5 year experience it has been amazing. Could not recommend it more.

This place is horrible to work in and should be avoided. Professor Martin Bache within the College of Engineering is a narcissistic and corrosive bully. Staff are treated appallingly and it is a place that is shrinking fast. Avoid avoid avoid.

Swansea university has an enormous amount of courses to pick from.
The university has welcomed students from all around the world.
The staff at the uni have prepared the university very carefully, and have followed the goverment covid health and safety rules which are strictly used at all times.
The surrounding grounds are over a hundred years old
This includes a beautiful building once owned by the wealthy Vivian family
The Abbey is in the middle of a full grade 1 exterior refurbishment .. including two ornamental fountains...
A large beautiful meadow lays of the abbey, a perfect area for students to revise or just relax in the fresh air
Well worth a walk around the Botany pond area
Access is available through many walk in entrances placed around the sight mant through singleton park...
Over 20,000 students frequented both Singleton Campus and the Bay Campus last year an electric student experience within a very safe security based campus

I was studied at Swansea University it is a very racist university number one in Uk for this point.
Swansea University will not give any student answer booklet ( after release the results) because they love hidden the fact. If you don t believe me contact them to know.
I advise any international student planning to study at Swansea University to stay away from it at all also the city is very boring and the Bay campus of Engineering is far from the city center around 10-15 by bus.
Don t believe some advertising from media Swansea University pays a lot to get international students to catch the students in the trap and the highest university gives commission to many agents to bring students around %15. Do not risk your future and your finances by studying at a vile university that does not know professionalism and justice.

I went to Swansea Uni because the course I wanted to study had a good amount of experimental content, making it a bit more hands-on. I benefitted not only from an excellent degree, with caring professors and really interesting lectures, but also from the location of the campus.Being right on the beach front was awesome. Living by the beach too, in the 3rd year (in Mumbles) was just amazing. Getting to lectures by cycling round the bay (or downhill from the Student Village in the 1st and 2nd years) made going in a much more attractive option than had lectures just been in the middle of a city somewhere! That's important when you're going in for an 8:30am! ;-) Swansea is a great city to be in too. Excellent shops, fantastic nightlife and enough places willing to give you a Saturday/evening job if you need a bit of extra cash! I loved my time at uni and would highly recommend Swansea University to others.

One of the best university in Wales
Great atmosphere with splendid natural beauty around to blow your mind away. The campus is very spacious and good parking facilities. Tuition fees are reasonable for international students and they do have dorm facilities though house rent around the university is affordable as well. For local tuition fees are one third and may apply for funding grant as well. I have been here so many times so highly recommended university!

Spent 13 months in 1976/7 studying for an M.Sc in the Finite Element Method in Structural Mechanics in the world leading Civil Engineering Department lead by the illustrious Prof. Zienkiewicz CBE FRS FREng. I was surrounded by world leading engineers and it was a real privilege. I worked like crazy to finish the course. Yet when there was time outside FE we had a great bunch of guys (unfortunately no girls) and enjoyed a variety of activities including watching rugby (i eventually played when I returned to England), canoeing, board game evenings and some very hot curries.
