The Minnesota Zoo is amazing at any time of the year! They take amazing care of the animals, and provide them with so much enrichment! I had the pleasure of chatting with some zookeepers and some volunteers while the Grizzly Bears got enrichment, and their passion for the animals well-being was obvious. I'm continually impressed with how many volunteers are available to answer questions in all areas of the zoo. Yearly pass is the way to go!

Was actually at the IMAX theater to see Aqua Man. It was the last movie to be played before the theater closed permanently. Sad that it closed. It was an awesome theater, largest IMAX Screen!
We love the Minnesota Zoo! If you live nearby and will go more than once or twice a year, the annual membership is so worth it! We spent a lot of time here, both quick visits and longer days. My kids always have fun. The animals seem well taken care of, everything is clean, and there s lots to see.
Pros: Great for kids, bring your own food/drinks, lots to see and do. Cons: $$$, long/poorly laid out. This place has everything. Beautiful, healthy animals, an aquarium with a stingray petting tank, a great mix of indoor/outdoor exhibits, lots of places to stop and eat/rest, multiple playgrounds and sections of exhibits tailored to the little explorer, cool shows, BYOF/D, and much more. $7 to park? Are you kidding me with this? You will already be dropping $100 to take your family here even if you do bring all of your own food and drinks. Paying for parking when you don't really have any other choice is insulting. Make sure that you have good shoes because this place is long and poorly laid out. If you want to see the farm exhibit, you're walking over a mile 1 way. And much of the park doesn't loop so you end up walking over the same old ground to get back. Makes you wish that monorail was still working, but they'd likely charge you to do that too.
First time back since covid and I can say I'm quite happy with how they've adjusted to the changes. Only down side is there weren't many food places in the Cafe open and there weren't enough hand sanitizer stations. Otherwise our family loves the zoo and will continue to go!
I went there for adult night at the zoo. It was wonderful! I would recommend it to anyone. The animals seem to be more active in the evening and the people that work there are very knowledgeable with answering questions about the animals. You can grab a beer or a glass of wine and walk around at your leisure. Very nice time!
We have a membership and had been totally worth it for our kids. Wish they had healthier food for the kids. All the food is pretty bad, which means we go somewhere else for lunch every time we go.
I'd give it 5 stars but it's a little pricey! If you get a family annual pass, it's well worth it! Clean. Friendly. Great walking paths. Fun for all ages.
Its not much fun in winter but summer is the best time to go. No monorail anymore so thats a bummer and no dolphins so yay for the dolphins but boring for humans. It's something to do with the kids, especially if they are little
Great visit! When we visited a few weeks ago they had made arrangements to enter at the far gate and directed foot traffic with dividing devices. They were a good start but this visit they had made changes for the COVID safety. I assume from feed back and due to the changing seasons. The new arrangement made the visit far more convenient and made more sense having visitors on the the right side of the dividing barriers. Also they had masked staff evenly spread out for help/direction and located at points of route choices like if you didnt want to go outside, wanted to access the gift shop or did not want to do the tropics trail. There was sanitizer units available and the cafe is open with limited seating.. So thankful they are still open and providing a safe activity. Thankful for the Minnesota Zoo!
The animal diversity at this zoo is amazing. The exhibits are great and you can really tell they are very aware of what is needed to properly care for their animals. They are expanding and remodeling in different areas but nothing too large to ruin any enjoyment. Become a member if you live close. It's worth it. Especially if you have little ones.
I love this place ! Time and time again I can always know I ll have a good time here with my daughter. Yes they are rebuilding some spots but FOR THE ANIMALS! So please be patient.
The kids always have a great time, plenty of space for them to run around and play. Short wait time to get in even with a long line it moves pretty steady. The only thing I don't care too much for is the lack of concession stand works and products. I encountered a few stand that were completely sold out of multiple items.
Fun place. Annual membership is key if you go more than twice in a year. Good indoor offering of animals during the winter months. Also have a good amount of cold weather animals outside to view if you venture outside.
Funny story, saw a tiger kill a goose in summer once... Then again, if you have a tiger in Minnesota what do you expect? Haha
Lots of attractions are GONE from when i was a child which was a huge disappointment there were wasps at EVERY garbage can eating outside was near impossible as wasps swarmed those areas as well we still got to see a few things that we haven't yet however and my child got to excitedly pet a shark which made it ok.
GO SEE THE JACK-O-LANTERNS. I was skeptical. After all, it's just pumkins. NO, NO - It is soo much more. I went in the pouring rain and still had an amazing time. So fun and fascinating.
Great Zoo with a wide array of animals. The seasonal Kangaroo encounter was a hit with the kids! Great layout means never feeling bored walking from exhibit to exhibit. Outdoor play area for the kids help foster a well rounded experience. There are many indoor exhibits to enjoy when the weather is less favorable. The cleanliness was impressive.
I was able to see a lot of animals at very close range. I recommend going to the zoo during the week and not the weekend that way you'll deal with less crowds and the animals are less scared.
I have visited a couple times. The monkeys and penguins are really fun to watch. I felt like we had to walk really really far before we saw anything outside the main building...I suppose that's good, just bigger enclosures! The kangaroos and the wild Asian horses were my favorites.
Wow this was amazing. We have a great zoo in Winnipeg but this was beautiful. The animal enclosures were so big and beautiful it was just breathtaking. There was a huge area for the kids to play and the farm part you could milk a goat. So much fun. Only downside we saw a snake on the path making my mother in law run and me scream LOL So much fun!
Due to Covid you have to wear a face mask and they give you instructions on signs on where to go in the park. My family was there for about 3 hours. Also you have to order tickets online.
We have been going for years. It's a good zoo but lacks some big things. The monorail isn't working and the dolphins are gone. The winter is ok but its better in the summer. I do buy the yearly membership some years because it's something to do with the kids.
It was wonderful. Loved seeing the new kangaroo exhibit. Our 6 year old granddaughter was awed and would have stayed longer but it was closing time as well as her bedtime.
Lots to do and see even in the winter months! I highly suggest going here! We love the tropic area and the ocean area. Be sure to check their schedule so you can see what s happening prior to your visit such as penguin feeding etc.
The minnesota zoo is really a great place. With many different activities and animal attractions for children of all ages. My son loves the splash pad in the summer too!
Saw Keb Mo last week and have been to many concerts at the zoo. If you have never been to a concert there, you may want to consider it. Not a bad seat in the place (bring a cushion) and the sound is fantastic. Check out the website for upcoming shows. Enjoy.
Family fun for everyone! Lots to see. It's a great day trip for any family looking to get out and explore. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any of your zoo related questions.
Went for a concert. It was a fantastic experience! Easy to get in, Easy to get out (little bit of a wait). Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would highly recommend this concert venue to anyone.
We absolutely love the zoo. Our family highly recommends the zoo memberships that are available for year round unlimited entries, this way we don't care if the kids are having a bad day and we have to leave shortly after arriving or we can stay all day. The outdoor play areas, the splash pad, the farm area, we just love them all. Highly recommend!
For being in the midst of a pandemic, the overall experience was well worth it for our family. The zoo is limited but you can still see all the good stuff.
