This place is huge. Its a bit on the expensive side but you can absolutely spend and entire day here. It has lots of interactive and educational exhibits and great play areas for the kids. Get a membership if you plan on going even a few times a year, it's totally worth it.

A fun zoo, animals - wild and domestic - in good condition and in good condition, mini-farm, games for children, restaurant, and there are also events in specific places and at certain times of the day; some people and their families can pass for free if they receive government stamps or if they have cards for having babies (ask at the ticket office). The popcorn -which is not sweet- that they sell inside is extremely salty, I do not recommend it.

Alot of fun, my 3 year old loved it, admission seemed steep/also paying for parking was a bit ridiculous, thankfully you get a discount if you have a pass to the Childrens Museum or Science Museum.

Very nice zoo, good variety of animals though not as many as we are use to, knowledgeable/friendly staff. Downside construction of many exhibits and limited food options. Good morning trip for families then grab lunch elsewhere.

Perfect time to visit the zoo. The weather was sunny but cool and most animals normally napping around noon time we're awake and active. Today we got close up views of the Amur Tiger, Grizzly bears, leopards! Also, the farm was buzzing with new life with cute little baby goats (kids), newly hatched chicks, etc.

They have really spread out exhibits so make sure you plan to spend the whole day so far the best zoo I have been to in years they have it set up where you can see the animals in open settings. I loved how you go through where they have birds some have free range you walk through various areas of tropics it is a beautiful setting. Can not wait to go back when we have more time to see the other half, was amazed at how large it was compared to the zoo's where I grew up in a big city, they made them look pitiful. Will be going back soon.

It was fun hanging around the zoo especially if you are with friends and family. They have beautiful animals and very well maintained park. It s quiet vast area so be ready to walk. They have good variety of food items and tasty too they have two kinds of tiger and very big wild bears. It was good to see them really close.

We have a membership here. Love coming with the kids multiple times a year throughout the year. Staff is always great and so many fun things to see. The kids just love it. Can't wait for summer to come. Also a good place to see a concert at the outside venue

Not the biggest I have ever went to but definitely very cool. You get to have some up-close-and-personal personal encounters with several of the animals. We especially loved the Bears, the Snow Monkeys, and the Puma. The walkthrough area with Kangaroos and Wallabees where no fence separates you from the animals is especially unique. We decided to become a sponsor of the zoo on our visit.

Wanted to take my two daughters. Two kids one adult, $42. That is super expensive, especially when on the other side of town Como Zoo is free. They are only open until 4pm. I have been there before and after spending nearly $50, we didnt have enough time.

MN Zoo is a favorite day trip for our family. It is a very nice, large, well-designed zoo with plenty for everyone. There is ample parking an it is not far from the highway (I-35). Among some of our family's favorite attractions at the zoo are the Grizzly Coast, Discovery Bay (aquarium), the butterfly house, and the MN Trail (indoors). If you are planning a visit, show times we'd recommend trying to target are the Monk Seal feeding, the Grizzly Bear feeding and the Bird Show at the amphitheater. There are a couple of great playgrounds for your kids: Woodland Adventure (smaller and better for younger children) and the Wild Woods play area which is larger and better for older kids with much more climbing. In the central plaza there is a great water fountain exhibit which you will nearly always find kids playing in if the weather is good. Keep this in mind because your kids will see it and want to play in the fountain as well. If you are planning ahead, bring a swimsuit and towels (or else a change of dry clothes). There is a nice set of bathrooms just off the Central Plaza where your kids can change into a swimsuit if you want them to. There's also a large Imax theater there which is always running a combination of educational films as well as some current movies as well. We'd highly recommend the Zoo for a day trip or as a side trip on your next visit to the Twin Cities. If you are local and could see yourself going more than once in a calendar year, consider a membership. With a family, you'll find that a membership is cheaper than paying to enter the zoo twice and then you can take advantage of it as often as you'd like.

We're zoo family members. Great value. It's great that there's so much to see and do in the winter, especially here in Minnesota. To the comment about no Elephants and Giraffes: they had giraffes this summer, but the zoo is brilliant in only having animals in the outside exhibits that can live in our climate year-round. What a great learning tool. It's definitely one of my daughter's and my favorite places.

Getting a zoo pass is well worth what it cost. There are lots of great exhibits as you walk around. What is great is about half the exhibits are inside, so it it's great to go even during the winter. I've only been to 6 different zoos in Canada and the USA, and this was one of the nicest.

Wonderful experience at this zoo! Variety of animals to see and multiple demonstrations throughout the day. It's super nice because when you enter the zoo you get a printout of the events happening that day. Lots of learning activities for people of all ages! Truly a fun time!

Great place for an adventure with kids. We always aim for arriving as it opens hitting two areas and leaving by 1230. Kids get to see plenty, have fun, but don't burn themselves out by trying to make it an all day thing. Plus it's less busy (critical for tropical region in winter) and less hot (critical for summer outdoor parts).

Fairly expensive, lots of walking. We were there mid day, so many animals were sleeping and barely, if at all visible. Staff was very knowledgeable. Concessions and soveniorss we're reasonably priced

Great clean zoo. Animal habitats are nice yet it's easy to see the animals. No elephants or giraffes, but plenty other animals. Splash pad and mist spikits were great for the hot day -wear swim clothes. Good playgrounds in a few places. Aquarium was amazing with interactive exhibits. You can pet sharks and Sting Ray's.
