Education building was interesting. Parade was excellent. Too many people. So crowded on a Saturday.
Education building was interesting. Parade was excellent. Too many people. So crowded on a Saturday.
If waiting in line and shuffling around in a crowd is your thing, this is the place for you! I will say the cookies and deep fried olives are superb though.
I love these fair grounds. There's always something going on and plenty to do. There are bathrooms on practically every corner, the atm fee was extremely reasonable at $3. The workers also make sure the grounds are always clean. The one negative is everyone seems to ignore the no smoking signs so you may get a face full of cigarette here or there.
How can you not love the Minnesota State Fair? Great people watching, food you only eat once a year, music for everyone, love it 1 of 365.
Great food and entertainment for a Great minnesota get together
Greatest fair experience anywhere!! It is something you can not explain to anyone. It has something for everyone and great fair food!!
Ate way too much food yesterday! All of it was great! One of my favorite fairs to go to across the states! And the craft beers were awesome!
The crowds are becoming unmanageable on weekends, plan accordingly. Otherwise amazing.
Games, chocolate chip beer and outrageous food. Go weekdays for smaller crowds. Must have corn on the cob. Must see butter carving of princess heads
I visited The State Fair In The Winter to see the Attractions when there is no one there. It doesn't matter if you go in the summer or in the winter when they aren't in business, this place always amazes me
Very literally something for everyone here!! At 36 years old...this was my first year ever at the state fair and I think I had more fun than most kids!! Loved it!!!
The Minnesota State Fair is by far one of the best state fairs in America.
The Minnesota State Fair is a blast. I would recommend going with a very small group, no more than four people. It can be very overwhelming if you have never gone before. If you don't like huge crowds your best bet is to try and go during a weekday. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as you will be doing a ton of walking and bring cash because you won't want to pass up on all that good food options.
My absolute favorite event - I literally go 3-5x a year. Great people watching, excellent free & grandstand shows, great competition, and the food and drink are plenty. A MUST for those living in or visiting MN this time of year.
Very crowded, but I guess this how state fair should be. food is amazing and rides are endless. I got fried pickles, corn, cotton candy and fries.
A wonderful experience for the entire family. You will find almost anything you can imagine deep fried and delicious.
Everything under the sun for sale from around the world.
It's a good place to go if you need to be reminded of why the Fair only comes to town once per year.
I paid $15 to be herded like cattle. But it was definitely an experience
Weather was good. Lots of people. Spend the whole day. Had fun.
Food games music concerts and more at the state fair every year. Lots of walking or you could rent an electric scooter to get around faster. Every drink you could think of cotton candy ice cream rolls mouth watering lamb chops corn on the Cob (a few favorites. Lots of seating so you can rest up and go for round infinity you definitely wanna come to eat eat and repeat so many people and so many good vibes each year. So you should definitely go check it out whenever you can.
Took the kids out to the fair on the last day and it was pretty packed we had a great time. But parking is crazy and overpriced (cost more then the entrance fee)although we found a great guy with yard parking for only $10 4-5 blocks away. There was many things to do and enjoy but the kids rides were over priced, $4 a ride is bit of a rip-off. And adults chaperones will have to pay for ride fare that is unnecessary due to almost every ride required a chaperone. Although rides a rip-off we enjoyed the most of it. Most of the food turned out great.
Safety at the fair has improved 100% - gluten free food options are improving.
It amazing each year I go every year for the whole 12 days for the whole 12 hours even get the deals way early coupons book a handful of ride/game tickets and 12 days of tickets to get in cheap plus each day at the Minnesota State Fair have deals on stuff some free stuff each day plus spend the whole day there will give you a chance to do things there most of all I like to spin the wheel by the French fries to get any size of fries for free and have it though the day to save money love to watch people walk around have fun when I take a break all the animals there is Cool to see all of them there to many things to see and have fun each year is different experience is great I know almost the whole Minnesota State Fair ground by heart
Absolutely amazing! I've never seen a Fair of this magnitude and expertise. There was sheer delight around every turn! Amazing food, gorgeous animal barns and goods displays, AND The Beach Boys with the Righteous Brothers. Wow! What an amazing evening. Thank you!
I've definitely never seen an All You Can Drink Milk stand! Ate myself silly! Well done!
The State Fair is nice place to go about it price is a lot and some people can not afford it and they do not go at all. I think the food is to hi priced and you have pay for parking
To that is bad and that is why I do not go and if you change the prices on tickets for the gate and the price of admission then I would go to it.
The fair gets better every time I attend. Great food, music, and rides! I would recommend you attending next year!
This was a plant/flower sale. It was the 2nd day of the sale. Some of the staff didn't their stuff as to where things were. The staff thou were very helpful.
Who cannot say a positive thing about the Minnesota fair and grounds. this place is one of the best fares that I've ever been to. They continually add new events and new sites every year. from the food to the farm equipment to the Midway to the coliseum this is a place to be had.
First time there was an awesome place. Almost to much to see in one day but the food was great and the zztop concert was worth the wait!
Very nice! Here are some tips. Get there early and I mean by 8 am as parking is chaotic. Parking $15.00 or $20.00 per day depending on the lot. Everybody that has a parking space is out trying to rent you a space. There are some close by residential areas where you can park for nothing if there is a spot. By 9:30 am we couldn't find one within 1 mile. Prices are high once you enter. I call it Airport Plus pricing. You can bring in water, food etc. All bags are checked at the gate by help, which means they open and take a look. By !:30 pm on Friday the place was packed and people were trying to get around each other. Never seen so many people. This is a huge place. We walked almost 5 miles today and didn't see it all. Make sure you note where you park as in what street and lot as it is confusing trying to find your way out The police were great and got us elders back on track once we were lost. Rides require an extra ticket. We paid $7.00 each for the roundtrip skyway ride. There are others. There are lots of exhibits that are free,. Very interesting day in all. Don't forget sunscreen and a hat. They have mobility electric chairs for $65.00 per day or $45.00 a half day. Entry for Seniors $13.00 adults $15.00. NOt sure about kids pricing. We stay at the comfort inn airport which was reasonably priced and nice. If you are not from here RENT a car. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time wishing you did, They brag about the public transportation but don't buy it for this State Fair. The last thing you want to do after walking all day .is try finding an exit with a bus that you need and then wait wait wait. There are a couple of park free and ride but again get there early
It's The Fair...you either love it or loath it. I happen to love it. And so do A LOT of people. My only complaint are the lines that go on forever. I'm not sure where they are going to keep putting all the people. Maybe it needs more days.
.Earth wind and fire and Sinbad as the opening act. Enjoyed my birthday at the Minnesota state fair
Every year my family and I enjoy visiting the state fair, always enjoy seeing the new stuff and coming back for our favorites, I love our state fair, it has something for anyone young and old. Just wish it lasted a bit longer then only 12 days. It's definitely the great Minnesota get together
Year after year this place never gets worse only better!
"The Great Minnesota Get Together" is one of the best State Fairs in the nation.
We used to be able to spend days down there with our motor home, and never missed a year!
Now we haven't been back for 3 or 4 years, whenever they shut down the camping area across from the fairgrounds. It was one of the dumbest moves the fair has ever made!
I'll never be able to return until they have more area to Park our motor home.
I don't want to spend 8 - 10 hrs in a single day trying to see everything! I want to spend 3-4hrs over 3-4 days, that's it, no more.
Hopefully, I'll be able to return to the fair someday, as it was something I looked forward to every year, but not anymore!
Best Fair around - The Great Minnesota Get Together - I never miss it :)
Never disappoints!! Do your best to make at least one trip ! It's well worth the drive !
So much to see, and eat, and do - one of my happy places!
This was my first time there and I loved it...I didn't realize how many people go here to this but I really enjoyed it... Weather wasn't the best because it was super hot out but it was a lot of fun
Whether you're into food, the fairway, or farm animals, the Minnesota State Fair has something for everyone ... and most of it on a stick.
Only downside is the crowds (if you're not a people person). Pack that many Minnesotans together in a small space on a warm day and you know why the fair is also known as the "Great Minnesotan Sweat-Together".
The Great Minnesota Get-Together is always a blast! The people watching, the food, and of course the many interesting, fun, and educational exhibits make the fair one the best events year after year.
It was fun. Better going with friends now that I m older then when I was a kid. Sweet Martha s cookies, the midway, and the hang glider ride in the pictures are my favorite things there. Everything is fun and the food is amazing but the only downside is the cost of everything. I also couldn t give it 5 stars because I barfed on a ride, but yanno what it was still fun.
You have to try the fried mash potato balls on a stick over by the house barn at The Potato Man and Sweety!
It can be tons of fun, it just so happens that I have anxiety about massive crowds so it's hard for me to be around that many people in one place.
so many deep fried foods, and sweet marthas is the best
Soundset was amazing, however Sweet Martha's ran out of cookies, so.
Was a good time but there are a few things that need to be fixed with the fair. First is that they need more games and stuff to keep kids and families engaged and interested. Could use a better map or signs to show you where you are . More bathrooms are definitely needed. And prices are high so plan accordingly for that and lines are long and out of wack where ever you go.
Wow! So much to do and see! Lots of great food, tons of rides, great entertainment.
It was so much fun! Plus I enjoyed seeing the mamas and babies.
We haven't been to the horse expo in many years. We took our grandkids with for the fist time. Our granddaughter was 3 and we could not get her off the horse's. Our grandson has never been on a horse and he enjoyed it very much. I think we have a new rider. Thank you for a great day at the horse expo. We will be back
Love the fair love the food & love the animals but is there a pigeon 6to.
Lots and lots of people. The weather was really nice. Lots to see. We went to the Grandstand show. It was really good. We got corn dogs after the show. They were cold not even warm. Also had deep fried cheese curds. Those were really good.
Ve ry large and great for many events, definitely recommend facility for almost anything.
Love the state fair! From unique beers to deep fried everything. There is plenty to do here for all ages and types.
Goats and llamas! They're my favorite part of the Fair. Easy to spend a whole day petting animals, checking out exhibits, and eating.
The Minnesota State Fair is awesome! Lots of walking. Many things to see, do and eat. The grounds are clean. Restrooms clean. Good people watching! Great free bands. The parade is fun. Food is expensive.
Enjoyed Back to the Fifties. Over 12 thousand cars were presented to admire. The presentation of the cars was grand. The State Fairgrounds are in need of repair. Streets and sidewalks are in poor shape.
Crazy crowded 2nd Sat. If you like eating around GO! Horses GREAT.
The Minnesota get-together. This State Fair has to be in the top 5 in state fairs in the United States. Many great food items to eat on a stick corn dogs, pork chop on a stick, corn on the cob on a stick, so many other things on a stick great food great exhibitions farming exhibits. The day I went there was a hundred fifty thousand people at the Minnesota State Fair for that day.
A wonderful time to be had children will love it.
Mini rides mini animals any exhibits to see is the great Minnesota get-together.
It's EXPENSIVE... But if you got the moneys, I'd say you're in for a treat.
I look forward to the fair all year long and it never disappoints!
The Minnesota State Fair is always a great place to be, even when it is super crowded like it was this year.
Came from VA to hang out with some friends there and this was hands down the best fair I've ever been to! Great foods, beers, and just all around a fun time. Will be back next year!
Fun, clean and exciting. Love the scooter rentals, but wish it was easier to get around the areas. Maybe a handicap lane, sorta like a bike lane on City streets, could be implemented to make things a little more equal for people with scooters, wheelchairs and canes, etc. Then when people cross in front of the front wheels they wouldn't get a tap or bumped into and say nasty things to us because we are unable to stop on a dime. Please think about these things, they're very important to me and many others who would like to have a nicer time at the Minnesota State Fair.
Didn't visit this day. But would have loved to, it was a big car show!
Went on the second last day at night and it was awesome. Not too many people, less hot and enjoyed our time! Will do that again in the future for sure.
Great MN Get Together. Took the grandboys for the first time...awesome sauce. Loved the DNR, Miracle of Birth, Daury Barn and demonstrations, animal and poultry barn top drawer. Lots of benches to people watch from.
By far the most fun thing to do/visit in MN during the summer months. Soooo many food vendors, a wide variety of entertainment, unique material goods, and new things every year. Filled with people having a good time! Only criticism would be that ticket prices for amusement rides, the riverboat, go karts, haunted house, and other similar activities are too expensive for their quality and short duration.
Perfect as always ! One of the best things that Minnesota does right
Very cool snow sculptures in the winter. Would have enjoyed an outdoor ice bar or some more adult activities.
Great Minnesota Get Together. Don't forget the cheese curds
What's not to LOVE?! 2nd largest fair (behind Texas) so much to do, see and eat. Every year we see a great concert and have some good grub and play some games. Great for people watching ;) Worth the flight out of you're not from the area. Definitely get the fried cheese curds.
