I've used this business for the past 5 years, since I moved to the area. I'm not totally computer literate nor am I a complete novice. I've always gotten good advice and clear and respectful explanations in answer to my questions. Their work on repairing my laptops has been good and reasonably priced. I wouldn't go anywhere else at this point. I'm glad to have found them after bad experiences with several other computer repair businesses.

One application we worked with them on has been running for over 4 years and keeps running on a secure server without issue which speaks volumes to their abilities.
I would avoid due to bad customer service. Treated like a child from the moment I set foot in the building.

Jim McNelis (the owner of Minkatec) is a man of no integrity. I dropped my computer off in april to have a few security software programs installed. he said he would have my computer for about a week and would give me a call. well 3 weeks went by and no call. so I called and he seemed confused and said oh yea your computer is ready. when I went to his shop the bill I had to pay was much more then expected. he claimed he had to install these software programs that I never even asked him about. adobe acrobat pro and some visio program. these were some rather expensive additional charges. I told him I never wanted these programs nor do I need them. he just gave me a blank stare and seemed irritated and said ok fine ill need your computer for another week to remove them, and for only a partial refund. I said no way and I reluctantly paid the bill and walked out. so if you want to deal with a rude arrogant jerk then I guess minkatec is the place for you.
Jim is fantastic! He helped my parents out with their computer a couple of years ago, but most recently helped get my office printer/scanner properly networked. I had wasted about 8 hours of my time trying to get it figured out (had done it in the past, but couldn't figure it out this time due to a new modem). He had everything up and running in an hour, and came up with a much better long term solution than the way I was running it. Great work, and very reasonably priced.

I went to minkatec several weeks ago. I took one step into the place and out of nowhere this german sheppard just leaped and lunged at me. I was startled like you wouldn t believe. It turns out the dog was just being friendly, but still its like come on its rather unprofessional to bring your dog to work in the computer business. I ve seen this bring your dog to work thing before at other places. It is like its becoming a new fad or somthing. Anyway the guy there said oh he s ok he wont hurt you. Classic line from dog owners. I just turned around and walked out.
