Pros: Millers landing is the place to be if you are coming for the view. Absolutely stunning views that is hard to beat in the Seward area. We had 2 days of combination fishing with captain Bill and Bobby and we had a great time. Bill was very informative and worked hard to ensure we got fish. Tons of activities available of a great variety.

Cons: the shower house was NASTY each and everytime I had the misfortune to use it. The outhouse was so rancid smelling it made you want to gag. I literally chose to wash my hair outside than use the shower house. 80% of the time there was no soap or toilet paper and not one of the womens bathroom doors locked properly. We stayed at the rocket house and I adored the view. That said the wood stove was so poorly put together there were literally flames coming out of the side of the stove piping. EXTREME FIRE hazard with absolutely no fire extinguisher on site. They must have moved wood stove in the past but left a gaping hole in the lookout floor so if I had brought my children they easily could have gotten injured. Garbage was all around the rocket house from previous campers I spent time cleaning some of it upI. In the pictures the rocket house also had curtains but when we arrived there were none except for a half broken one so I had to hand a sheet up so I could change without giving the neighbors show. A window was also broken and they just put up a plastic cover. Fix it. This place has great potential just fix a few things and the rocket house will be ready to go.

Customer service. We came across multiple RUDE, short tempered and ill informed staff. I got snapped at for asking questions or asking for help with the coffee. I spoke with several other campers and they ran across the same issue and one gal was actively looking for openings at other camp grounds because of the rude customer servive.

This place has great potential but needs a lot of work to get there.

What a dump!

What a dump!
Went last spring, it was considered the "off season" as it was early April, charged $20 for one night. Campgrounds where on the dirty side. One campground I passed had a sea gull carcass just sitting there. Bathrooms where horrible (I didn't even use the shower). There's a pack of about half a dozen dogs just free ranging, like something you'd see on the rez. I would not recommend this for a family camping trip at all! I was much happier using the campgrounds in town, for $5 a night it's much more worth the value.

The cabin was basic but fit our needs. Only one electric by the front door worked and had only one overhead light even though there was over head track lighting. The door has a number key pad to get in. It malfunctioned and we had to call and get another door code to get in. Beds were great we got a good night sleep.

- August 16th full day fishing, multi species charter-
We could not be happier with our awesome day on the water! Captain Bill Moore and his mate Dez couldn't have been a better combo to spend the day with !!!! My girl wanted to go fishing on her birthday and fish she did !
We saw humpback whales, caught various size hallibut (biggest was 110lbs). limit up on rockfish. One nice silver that was delicious for dinner! And I had an awesome selection of music and smiles throughout the day!!! Water was flat , weather was perfect. You really couldn't ask for a better birthday out fishing !! Might go again next week just because it was so much fun

The location is absolutely amazing. Though they are closed for the season, their Facebook has been a wealth of information regarding offered services during summer season, cabin rental, kayak rentals, etc. Looking forward to some activities with them!

Campgrounds are expensive and squashed together like sardines some next to busy carparks and barely any room for a tent and a car, we had Camp Kristina which is an odd corner that's heavily sloped, had to back the car right up to the tent to fit it in. No email confirmation sent. No covid guidelines followed by anyone. No campground rules managed, on our last night we were kept awake until 2.30 am by partying and not a single ground manager to be seen. Bathrooms are gross, usually out of order, no privacy and expensive $1 for 2 minutes shower do yourself a favour and use the ones in town much cleaner and lockable doors considering there is no door between male and female bathrooms. Stay in the campgrounds in town.

We took the all salmon fishing trip on Saturday with Captain Bill and 1st mate Bobby and we caught our limit on silver salmon and rockfish. Both Bi l and Bobby were awesome and our party had a great time. Both are seasoned fishermen in the seward area and it pays off to listen to their advice as you will not go wrong as seen in the picture.

We paid for a water taxi and received this service safely. Beyond this: we arrived on time and the staff did not show any interest in checking us in, our kayaks were loaded on a trailer to an unknown destination without confirmation, the motor boat left the shore without us and had to return, we had to ask if we were on the correct boat because this was never confirmed, a guided group (by ML) asked us where to camp and where to find water, and they lost a kayak for their international clients. Guests beware. Sadly, the captain/owner was great...but his team needs some serious improvement.

We rented the ocean front lodge through Miller's Landing ,I would highly recommend this place, the view was better than I ever could've imagined, we saw to humpback whales no more than 100 feet in the water, so I'll see lions playing, apparently the places under new owners and they were very accommodating, the place was immaculate my wife and I cannot wait to return next year!

We used Miller's Landing for a water taxi. Both our trip out, and our trip back were great. On the way out we went past some porpoises, and the driver was nice enough to stop and let us enjoy the wildlife for a little bit. Both our drivers were very nice and helpful. They were also one of the only places that were open for water taxis the time of the year that we went, so they are more accommodating then other water taxis in the area.

Priced too high, camping spots right on top of each other.
I was very disappointed at how far downhill the place has gone in 5 years. It was like sleeping in a bar.

If you wanna party it up, drink until you puke, Millers Landing is the perfect campground. If you have kids and want to have a good time, I suggest ANY other campground.

for camping-- pricey, spaces are pretty much on top of each other. If you like camping in nature and having some privacy, try to get a site at the national park. However, this place offers more scenery/privacy than the campgrounds in town. the staff were very friendly though.

The Best of Alaska excursion with Captain Bill, First Mate Dez, and guide Liz could not have been better because of their knowledge, education, and enthusiasm. This was the highlight of our vacation. We caught our limit on fish including a 141 pound Halibut (thanks to Penny the jig )!

They have 10 RV spots by the sea. These are nice. But anything else is just a mud pit. Our spot was squized between two different places, we were kind of sharing the spot with another RV and we had to get an extension cord to rich the electric plug. The table was almost on top of a fire pit which was full of plastic and cardboard from 6-packs. We rented for 2 nights but we ended up staying only one and I think it would have been better to just stop in a parking lot along the road. Very disappointed.

Terrible. Made a reservation and the customer service over the phone was not professional. Very bad customer service. A girl over the phone, twisted her words over the phone about the RV reservation. Completely rude. Don't waste your time here. Over priced. Took my money without saying anything else and hung up. The girl over the phone demanded the card number if the reservation was to be made. Tried to ask a few questions about the reservation payment but just complete rudeness was said over the phone.

One star for the Silver Derby Annex camping area. Spots are ridiculously small, no picnic tables; very close for tent & having a campfire. It's also VERY over-priced; it should NOT be $27 for this area. A cheaper price would be better so as to match the area as well as having to smell the sewage pond. There needs to be many improvements.

We were staying at a nearby Airbnb so walked to the beach here and it was a lovely place to spend some time. We should have done the kayak rentals but unfortunately we were out of time but there was quite a bit on offer.
We spotted two or three bald eagles though which nest there, so definitely look out for them - they were the highlight of our visit there

Took a 3.5 Kayak trip to Thumb Cove w Guide Amber. She was awesome! Hi energy and could tell she loved her job. We had spectacular views and water was so clear! Just beautiful. Saw several eagles and the salmon were just starting to run so there were bunches!! A little disappointed that we didn't see more wild life but it was still a fantastic trip. The kayaking time was just long enough for us we not so great knees and a hip. So worth the price!

I recently went on a 3 day 2 night Kayaking advent...

I recently went on a 3 day 2 night Kayaking adventure into the glacier fields with 2 guides from Miller's Landing, Chris and Mattie. I have hiked and camped all over Alaska with tour operators and on my own. Some of these excursions included fly ins to the Katmai wilderness, sitting by a river with seven or eight big bears in front of me or pitching a tent outside of Valdez and tracking bear on my own. I am a photographer by the way. I have also scuba dived in Hawaii, the Bahamas, off the coast of South Carolina and in numerous other places around the United States. None of these experiences come close to the adventure and serenity that this Kayaking trip provided. First of all Chris and Mattie were both excellent guides! Although I understood that this was to be a wilderness excursion, there is only so much you can fit into a Kayak, Chris went above and beyond to point out that bringing an outdoor chair would make this trip much more comfortable. Both Chis and Mattie were extremely sensitive to our needs and instilled confidence in their kayaking abilities and survival skills in an environment that can often be unforgiving.
We began our adventure early one morning loading our bags and Kayaks onto the boat from a beautiful pebble strewn beach as the sun was beginning to peep over the distant mountains. The boat transported us into a magical world of discovery. The wild waters with it's beautiful colors caressed my face as I stood outside the cabin watching the clumsy puffins skitter across the water with ragged coastline as a backdrop. We were soon dropped off on another secluded beach where Chris and Mattie briefed us on safety and the days activities.
It was a beautiful day as we paddled through the emerald green waters and the sun painted the icecap mountains. Gliding by castles of ice a curious seal poked it's head above the water to spy on this new edition to it's often secluded world. Reaching our new home for the next two nights we erected tents on a beach strewn with rocks glacial discarded rocks. Across the bay the Northwestern Glacier welcomed us with it's mighty cracks and groans. The next couple of days were just as magical as the first with an unbelievable hike and more paddling through this magical wonderland. Thanks again Chris and Mattie for such a wonderful experience!

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Employees were awesome on trips and charters. Captain Paul and Bobby were awesome on the halibut and rockfish charter and Morgan did a great job with a guided kayak trip. Facilities were in good enough shape and the views on the beachfront RV spots were dreamy. On the down side there were no rv hookups besides power which made it a little more difficult on extended stays if you don't want to move a big rv to town and back to drain. We will probably be back!

It is a fantastic location! Beach front is the sweetest situation. They didn't go out of their way to break bills for change even though that was my laundry and shower. When we got coins together, it was a very luke warm shower...
Mariah was the silver lining. Next day after our tsunami warning she was very helpful with anything we needed.

The first time we went, the waves were really rough and they suggested we reschedule, which we were very appreciative of. When we went to the desk to do so, the guy at the front desk was INCREDIBLY rude. If we hadn't already known that they wouldn't refund us, I'd have asked because he was THAT off-putting. When we rescheduled, the kayak given to us had a broken rudder and some other damage, and couldn't be steered or kept straight. There were two guides with the kayaking group. The first left with the rest of the group immediately. The second attempted to troubleshoot it for a couple minutes, but then told us we'd have to manage with it being broken and left us behind as well. We obviously weren't expecting them to be able to do too much without going back, but we DID pay for the trip and it definitely would have been nice for one of the guides to at least stay with us since the kayak was damaged. The beach and trail we went on were absolutely beautiful. When we returned, one of the guides asked us to keep our kayak separate since they'd need to send it for repairs, but it appeared to us as though it was moved right back in with the others without any kind of indicator to tell which was the damaged one, which makes me think that someone else will have a less than stellar experience after us.

One of the guides we talked with when we went the first time named David was really friendly and knowledgeable! We didn't have him on our reschedule date, but he did say hi to us when we got there the second time and was really pleasant!

Very disappointed. We booked our trip, but when we arrived, they asked for almost double payment than had been arranged (I had wanted to purchase a Groupon, but the person I talked to when booking said to buy it through them - that it would be cheaper.) The staff didn't know what to do, so they pushed us to the side and told us to pay up or get out. Very unprofessional/inexperienced staff, and a huge let-down on our trip. If we make it back to Seward at some point, we will not be using Miller's Landing.

We were renting a cabin at Miller's Landing throug...

We were renting a cabin at Miller's Landing through Airbnb. They called to let us know they offer tours so we took them up on it. We scheduled a full day kayak tour. It was nice to be on property as we had to meet at the dock at 5:30am.

When we arrived we met Chris our guide for the day. We were the only kayakers on a boat of fishermen. We had a 2 hour ride out to Northwestern Fjord. We were going one bay over from where they usually kayak to accommodate the people fishing.

They dropped us off on the rocky beach. The boat has a gangway that lowers down on the bow so we just had to walk off onto the beach. My daughter and I were happy we wore our rubber boots so we could just plod through the water. They quickly unloaded the kayaks and all the gear we will need for the day.

Chris quickly went to work setting up our double kayaks while we ran around taking pictures of the amazing scenery. After a quick review of safety and paddling technique he dragged us to the water and sent us off into the water. We started paddling through the pristine bay and it was a surreal experience. Pictures do not do the amazing beauty justice.

We paddled about 4 miles and made a quick stop to adjust the foot pedals for the rudder and just take a quick stretch. We had also dressed for a cool paddle and the temperature and the sun were making it quite warm so we peeled off a layer of clothes. We continued to paddle through the floating icebergs and had many curious seals popping up to check us out. We also had a whale sighting about 200 feet off the bow of our kayak.

We approached the foot of the Northwestern glacier and could hear the glacier calving. The blue ice glistened in the sun and we pulled over to the rocky beach to have our lunch. Chris laid out sandwiches, chips, and snacks. There were some large ice chunks on land from high tide so we went over for photo ops with them and the glacier in the background.

With our bellies full we headed back out on the water to paddle over to Ogive (pronounced Ojai) glacier. The base of it had disconnected from the Harding ice field above so it is brown and old looking. It is super tall and hard to tell scale from the pictures. We pulled up on the rocky coast next to Anchor Glacier that is very close to Ogive. Chris had brought hot chocolate and his stove thinking, like us, that it was going to be cold. We opted for the water instead since the sun was still shining bright and keeping us warm.

From here we had 1.5 hours to paddle 4 miles to the extraction point. Unfortunately, after a very calm flat morning on the water, the head winds had kicked up and were now making the waves crash over the bow of our kayaks. It made for some difficult paddling for the end of the day. We muscled through but were exhausted by the time we got to the beach. We had been paddling since 9 am with our couple of stops and we pulled in to the final stop at 4pm. The route we took is also a 3 night camping trip which would be a phenomenal way to experience all that this Fjord has to offer on a much more relaxed experience.

We waited for the boat to come pick us up and reflected on our amazing day. Chris is such a hard worker. He pulled us in and pushed us off of each stop all day. He was a wealth of information about the surrounding area the water, glaciers and animals. He even gave us a great suggestion for dinner later that night.

When we got back on the boat for our 2 hour ride back to Miller's Landing we all fell asleep. The combination of the early morning and 14 miles of paddling had gotten the best of us. Chance, is one of the owners of Miller's Landing and was our boat captain. He grew up in the area and is really interesting to talk to. He is very concerned about providing a positive experience and making his customers happy. I highly recommend you do a kayak or fishing tour with Miller's Landing and explore all that this amazing area of the world has to offer.

Every one star review here is correct and then some. First, they charge $35 to use the dump station and encourage you to drive into the city to use the City of Seward's because it's free (in actuality it was $5 to use, but whatever). Next, the campground is super dirty and there are lose dogs everywhere. It looks as if a fishing village was wiped out. Third all the spots where right on top of one another, and it's in no way Class A, long Class C friendly...you would have a hell of a time parking. One review below says they were there for 30 min and left, I got them beat by 10 min...shoud've done some research myself.

Miller's Landing is a nice place to camp and have some fun, although it is tight and kind of confusing. That's the only "issue" I found. The bathrooms are sanitary and clean, but I would suggest Motion Activated sinks. They have showers and a token is 2 minutes in the shower, u can put as much as you want, but you have to buy the tokens. They have a beachfront and a little marketplace store. 4/5 stars

Quick weekend get away to try to snag some salmon. Got a campsite on their new campground. Kinda hard to find at night but enjoyed the ability to access campground at any time. Out house was absolutely atrocious, full of dead flies. Easy access to the beach. Had plans to kayak to Caines Head but had to reschedule due to unforseen circumstances but they were accommodating and we wete appreciative.

The campgrounds/bathrooms are dirty. If you want to fish, go with any other company in town. The boat captain put us on one halibut all day long. We only limited out on rockfish but only caught half out salmon limit. Then the captian made it out like it was our fault we did not catch any fish. I feel like I could have done this myself. The boat is a converted set net boat and is slow and uncomfortable. I would highly recommend going anywhere else in town. Based on other recommendations in the reviews, this place looks to be going downhill.

I feel embarrassed as this was the charter I booked for myself and friend who came up from Nebraska.

Don't waste your time here. Had me driving in circles towing my trailer. There were random people in sites that they said were empty and it seems no one had a clue as to what was going on. I spent half my day in Seward driving in circles in this park. Front desk seems incompetent and many of their sites are on a hill. I would like my money back but they don't do that.
