Portadown market was fully revamp and look amazing a lots a trader inside food craft vegetables music and all that every Friday and saturday you get that feeling you are in Spain or France this is a must do at the week end !

Took children along to easter art festival day...what a disappointment. On arrival had to ask where it was held and two uninterested reception mumbled it's upstairs . I expected the room to be full of children instead found one mother and her two children sitting on the floor with rabbit ears and a tub of felt tips. The member of staff handed us two poorly cut out rabbit ears. No imagination or thought has went into this. The staff member looked thoroughly bored too awaiting 3pm til she could go home. After getting the ears taped into a band for putting on their head we were presented with what I thought was a treasure hunt. I thought this must be the exciting part with clues and eggs hidden about the gallery. Instead it was a very poor attempt at getting children interested in art..so I was told. The pictures were all black and white not exactly interesting for children or indeed myself. Perhaps I am not cultured enough to see the deeper meaning behind these paintings. There were about 5 questions such as find the picture with the white van...well the pictures weren't numbered so a tick was made. Then on the back the children had to draw a picture of their house from above. My two children aged 7 and 4 were bored and the whole experience has probably put them off visiting a gallery. We will not be rushing back to any future 'events'..a complete waste of time. Only consolation was a piece of chocolate at the end.

My weekly visits to the market on Fridays and Saturdays are mostly for greengrocery produce however, I have been going there for so long that long lasting friendships with both traders and customers have developed.
I don't remember ever being to the arts centre.
