Lots to see. Fun parties for children. A guided visit. In short, a good, very nice afternoon for at least 3 hours if you want to see and read everything. Note that this is partially feasible for disabled wheelchairs (managers
make the best parts accessible).

Rather unusual but very educative museum in the Limousin area. Dive into the surprising and wonderful world of insects. Guided and free tours inside and outside.Full of experiences and fun activities for children. Our son enjoyed the museum and so did we.

In the middle of nature, which suits the theme well. Lots of specimens and explanations available to all. A very playful paradise for children. Gardens with different themes. An interior space. The most a snack for those who would be soid or hungry. Very friendly welcome. A quick note in particular, thank you for taking time with your pharmacy for my foot which had decided to attack a root.

What a pleasant surprise to find a guided tour, exciting for both adults and children (with children 9, 11 and 16 years old). The knowledge and the pleasure of transmitting the speaker are quite exceptional. Do not agree with the reviews that say it's "tinkered", everything works very well, which is not always the case in museums or more prestigious places. The reception is very upscale because the attention and answers to questions are immediate and very educational. We also want to return to the good weather to enjoy the terrace and outdoor spaces that are rich. Tasting of famous honey. Very well-kept and with so many resources that a single visit is not enough, it is a question of quickly returning to the next passage in Creuse. Rare place.

Great disappointment: the ads promised an interactive visit, pleasant gardens ... Result a museum where reigned an unlikely volume, a pile of things where it was necessary to look where to lay eyes, a non-existent film except sound, gardens in wasteland (and not the excuse of permaculture does not hold because permaculture does not mean no maintenance) ... non-exhaustive list but frankly not to do. I would have liked to be able to talk with the managers but apparently more busy serving a coke to customers than responding to visitors looking for information ..

The only thing kept in this place is the souvenir shop! That means everything ...

Magical place! Extremely rich collections, extremely well showcased in an exhibition that will arouse the interest of the smallest to the largest.
It is so rich in information and interactivity that one day is not enough to understand all the details of this great world of insects!
Good news we'll be back :)

I highly recommend this structure on a human scale ... A warm team ... motivated animators ... and by these hot weather, the freshness of a museum with pedagogy echoing all ages ... an outdoor environment wooded area where you can enjoy drinks in the shade of a large lime tree ... What more could you ask for in these days ... and if you are looking for the little beast ... just go and discover the vivariums ...

Accumulation of sometimes dusty objects in rooms "...

Accumulation of sometimes dusty objects in rooms "themes" without conducting wire, the city of insects looks like a dilapidated museum poorly maintained, poorly thought for lack of resources and creativity. From the reception (fast and shipped) we left the small corridor, small room we come back and we go back to the home, we go to the right, small room, stairs and then we come back and we rerepasse in front of the home and then down in the basement and we go back to the reception. A person with a disability or reduced mobility will in no way be able to visit independently and will be assisted from beginning to end because of the stairs, changes of level and the incessant coming and going of visitors (jostling) as in a crowded house. The old-fashioned and outdated rooms are overloaded with frames, information, objects and children drop quickly while adults try to find their way. In the basement, hung on the wall, a strip of paper typed by a great beginner in word processing goes through the geological periods to the edge of the table of pithecanthropists, pushed by the evolution, unaware of dragging behind them the millions of years before prehistory, just as we did elsewhere. Interactions based switches, large buttons that work or not, "games" broken or very worn and more than sketchy smile without capturing the interest, such as old signs with a plastic hook to catch with a pseudo butterfly net with a boing boing spring effect. In the vivarium room, the youngest ones caught in the dark and the absence of reassuring codes seek the hand of their parents who wear them at the height of the minimalist windows. In one of them, a six-legged corpse remained in a troubled corner contemplating the visitor who for a moment forgets the object of his coming and imagines that a big toad or chameleon hiding behind the panel sulk his lunch ... Before recovering: flute we are in the City of Insects finally! During the whole visit, on the pretext of a treasure hunt, one is bored to search foolishly for placards taped here and there and in the empty outdoor space not to say at half-mast. A "theater" (rather a tinkering cabanon), with an amp in agony, looped not a film but a trailer of the tiny film taking viewers who have paid a heavy price once again for pigeons. At the end of this uncomfortable stroll, if he still has any inclination to believe in this place for the sake of his passionate keeper (too much to really share) or for the protection of the tiny, it is definitely eradicated by the gondola of Fluorescent flusher guns made in China sold for around 5 euros each as the last witness to the total lack of credibility on biodiversity and the postulate of respect for living well sold, for once.
Not the city of insects is not one because the humans who shaped it have forgotten to organize, to think, to create a real pedagogical project, fun and modern, up to counterfeit solidarity and ecological drive who guides the visitor to them, finally allowing him to zigzag the cumbersome critters, that we will have understood!
Our only and big disappointment in this beautiful region.

Amazing unexpected moment. Absolutely a guided tour by Regine which is exciting to listen to young and old on a topic at first glance not stimulating. Think again, this museum is complete, playful, informative and accessible to all.

A real good time spent at the City of Insects! The different entomological collections are magnificent, stick insects and ants are very nice to observe, and the parks outside are more than pleasant with the sun at an additional cost! To advise especially if you have children, moreover the managers are really very nice

Lots of super interesting things.

Lots of super interesting things.
Insects from every angle.
Thousands of copies to be amazed.
The different themes are very well presented, the rooms accessible for all ages ....
Too bad ... not for all people a lot of stairs ... complicated for people with reduced mobility.
Too bad ... Also when for 15 years everything has remained frozen.
Too bad ... that the exterior is not up to what it was.
Really sorry but I was very disappointed with what I saw .... And no more !!!
The enthusiasts would have they all disappeared to make way for people who keep afloat just to take advantage ...

Small friendly museum on an original theme.

Small friendly museum on an original theme.
It is necessary to make the guided visit, ultra well commented and animated by a passionate one, which, during 1.30 hour is inexhaustible.
Small sale of honey on site and sweet salty snacking ....
I advise

Very nice site to learn more about insects We move inside in different rooms of the museum to observe an impressive collection of insects and discover their anatomy and their habitat. A special mention personally for an anthill of a few square meters where we see the the way ants live
The gardens are also magnificent where we discover many insects in the wild
To end the visit we have the opportunity to taste dehydrated insects and it is surprising how good it is
Visit both for adults and children
It's really worth the detour
