Terrible service, mediocre food, none of the drink...
Terrible service, mediocre food, none of the drinks justify the cost. Many other Mexican restaurants in the area that are far better. Avoid Mija like the plague!

So far, they have the best and closest Mexican tacos in Boston, also their desserts, specially the churros are delicius. The staff is so friendly and they really care to make you feel comfortable in there.
Fantastic place... even with a baby. They did a great job. Cant wait to come back for a visit
Avoid the breakfast. Burrito was cheap quality ingredients made in a panini press, served with french fries and ketchup.
Good service, good vibe, bad breakfast food.
The best tasting Mexican food I had outside of Phoenix Arizona
Absolutely one of the best bars in the area. Ask for Sergio....
I read the reviews before going there and the reviews did not lie about the drinks. First, let me start with the food. I had the burrito with plantains on the side. I turned it into a vegetarian option with just the rice and vegetables. It was amazing! But the avocado crema is very unnecessary. Unless you LOVE avocado you don't need that in a burrito. Second, the pina colada was a watered down milky concoction. I can understand the drink doesn't need to taste like rubbing alcohol but I felt like I was drinking an imitation coconut flavored substance with water mixed with a tasteless lime they throw in for decoration. When I explained to the waiter I wanted to switch to a virgin colada he said the manager would most likely not exchange the drink. The virgin colada is 5$. The regular colada is 13$ or 15$. This restaurant is a scam artist when it comes to watery alcohol beverages. And it wasn't just my drink that was watery. I also tried some of my friends' drinks as well and they were just as watered down. I really believe they put a minuscule amount of alcohol and then tell you, " It is in the beverage. It's just mixed in with all the flavors." Overall, their food is great but do not bother with any of the alcohol drinks. That is just a waste of money.
The serve was nice. The waiter was patient with us since we were a large group. He did as amazing job. Except that lie he about the alcohol.
Huge selection of tequila. Try the pain killer. So yummy!
Hip Mexican Place with lots of Tequila, trust me when I say, loooootttsss!
MIJA is a Mexican Cantina serving one of Boston's favorites tequila. They offer a host of Mexican foods as well as a severe taco dip. They have outdoor seating for the Summers with shade and certainly caters to the southwestern flavored meal.
Service terrible
Wouldn t come back
Excellent margaritas/drinks but the food is almost abusively overpriced. No need to pay $18 for an average burrito when you can go across the street and have one for $8, or elsewhere in Boston for more authentic food at a third of the price. This place gets PACKED at night so either arrive early or prepare to wait longer than it's worth.
The reason there are no stars is not a mistake! Buy spending Dollar one in this place is a mistake! Weak weak margaritas and service was the worst ever. All employees ignored us we had to get their attention twice. We recommend going across the way to Zuma Tex Mex grill. Friendly staff good margaritas and all well priced.
Mid-way Mexicans. Is certainly known for their drinks. Good tortilla chips and homemade guacamole pulls up
Rude waitress and manger.!!!!!!! GET A GRIP MIJA and hire the right people!!
I really like his tacos. I have gone several times.
My friend and I were looking to grab some lemonades and some fries. We weren't that hungry. When we ordered our waiter was angered by our order. He said "that's it?!" very rudely muttered something under his breath and stomped away. When he came back he slammed down the plates and the silverware and stomped away again. The service was absolutely terrible. Our waiter was the rudest that we've ever experienced. He was childish, petty and completely unprofessional. I am disgusted with this place and their rude waitstaff. If I could give zero stars I would.
This is a cool place within the Fanuel Hall area. Great service and food!
Good ambiance and great music at night. Food was not amazing but good
All I had was a glass of sangria which was delicious. A little pricy but dang good.
If you want a perfect Natcho or a perfect taco, just go there.
a fun place in Quincy Market. The food is delicious. Service as attentive.
Restaurant is ok. Felt like a chain theme. As with all things Boston, cost of dining was more pricey than service or food dictated. I've eaten at similar establishments for $$, whereas here asked $$+ to $$$. Place had reasonable patronage, so they are likely feeding on tourism for survival. Restaurant had nothing signature or special to support a theme, if there is one. We had a simple lunch, a shared appetizer, and water. Family of three ran us $80.
I got a beautiful and delicious Chimichanga! It was rich with a nice side of Guac and Pico de Gallo. The place is very charming and the outdoors sitting was very pleasant as well!
Needs more room at the bar but the staff is awesome
A nice place to have a drink and eat in Quincy Market!
Over priced for low quality. Just dont go here folks
Good place to drink but no more doubts about the food
I don't have much good to say about the place. I was there for a friends party and there was about 12 of us there. The guacamole was good and the food arrived quickly is about all I can say good about the place. It took the waitress roughly 45 minutes to get around to taking our order and she only asked half the table if they wanted appetizers. I ordered the pork enchiladas and they and the rice were cold. The nacho appetizer I had to order at the same time as my entree was soggy and gross. The wait staff stood around chatting amongst themselves the whole time. The food and service was not worth the high price for its substandard quality.
Food was not great and overpriced. My 5 year old grandson had a burger & fries. Frozen burger over cooked (only took one bite)& fries that he kept squeezing to get the grease out. My husband had the Mija burger. It wasn t frozen beef but still tasteless. The fried plantains were odd & very greasy. He was half way done when waitress came to see if we needed anything after food was delivered. Too late for the salt. I had the vegetable bowl with chicken. Chicken was over cooked and tough. The rest was just okay. Won t go back
I ll start off by saying this place has great service, which is why I gave it 4 in stead of 3 stars. We went for a friend birthday. We had a group of 8 and brought a cake. They were very accommodating with our request to have the cake brought out as a surprise after the food. Our server did an excellent job I was food recommendations and drink recommendations as well as being very personable.
As for the drinks, they were a little disappointing. I ordered a margarita that was supposed to have muddled strawberries, but it came out with more of a sweet and strawberry syrup. It ended up being way too sweet. My boyfriend had a Mezcal drink and was quite impressed with the variety of the tequila and Mezcal menu.
The food was OK for Boston Mexican food, but our nachos were lacking in both cheese and meat, which let s be honest, that s what really makes nachos nachos. The tacos were very good. That even give you the choice of tortilla that you want and have quite a variety of different meats to go in in them. We stuck with the more traditional pork adobado which was very good. We also started off with the trio of dips for the table. This was quite the hit and everyone enjoyed the queso the guacamole and the salsa which all had great flavors.
Overall I would grant give the quality of the food and drinks three stars but I rounded up to four purely for the great service that we had the night that we went.
Good selection of Tequila, food was pretty good, wait staff was attentive but not pushy. I'd go back
Good food and drinks, mediocre bar service. I sat at the bar and overall I enjoyed the experience however when the bill came they had charged me for a drink I didn't have and they charged me twice for the "unlimited salsa and chips" - go figure that one out! When I pointed out the errors I got no apology and just got a begrudging change to the bill so I definitely didn't tip too much. I did enjoy the veggie burrito bowl with steak, it was delicious. The bar has over 100 tequilas which is very cool.
Nice drinks. My male bartender super nice, Female bartender not so. ???
I was here for a friend's birthday dinner. My friend had booked a month in advance for a party of 15. When we got there, the hostess was rude and said you didn't take reservations, even though we had the email proof confirmation. Finally when were seated, the table was only set for 13 not 15, and two friends had to squish/stand awkwardly. Lastly the tinga chicken tacos were so salty no one could eat them, and our friends had to pay for a $500 dinner they couldn't eat. I felt bad for my friend who's birthday it was! I'm not trying to complain, just hoping management is aware and can make improvements going forward.
Terrible service, inappropriate staff. I do not recommend you waste your time and money here.
If you're interested in ridiculously overpriced street tacos (2) for $15 and a side of Spanish rice, this spot is for you! However, they are tasty enough to eat every morsel.
Great place to have dinner. It is more of a romantic place and couples would enjoy being here. Food is great so is the service.
Bartender was amazing. Lietally made 3 drinks at a time.
Nice bar but overprices for the drinks. It was watery as a drink and I asked for a specific rim on the glass (they offer a lot!) but it was just plain salt.
Great place on weekends! This place gets packed early. Starting on Thursdays around 5pm. If you get here after 7 a seat at the car can be hard to obtain. If you find yourself here, ask for Lisa or Sonic and you will have a a good time. Great service, awesome drinks and a burrito to die for!!
If you want good margaritas, go here.
Amazing service, good practice of hygiene during COVID times, prompt service.
Tasty Mexican Cantina with 100+ Tequilas. The corn on the cob is awesome... munch munch
This place is awesome!!! The drinks are great and the bartenders are great, too! One of the bartenders, Alex Portillo, is really good; he'll take care of you and make sure that you are never dry.
MIJA is always the first stop to start off #HappyHour
Good food served efficiently by nice staff. I suspect that some of the negative reviews come from their competition across the street.
Love love love this place! Definitely a bit pricey but some of the best apps and drinks around. I wish the spot had a better view, not a fan of the touristy foot traffic. Highly recommend the sangria pitchers and nachos for some good drinks & apps.
The food is by far the worst I've had in Boston. In addition, the drinks are watered down and overpriced.
I love the ear of corn. The sauce and spices they put on it delicious. Chicken tacos were delicious. Didn't quite like the beef very very salty and the drinks were meh.
Amazing sangrias and tacos! My friends and I had a blast at the Halloween pub crawl! The two bartenders (Cassi and Alex) were especially nice to us :)
Food and place not worth the prices. Plates are small and overpriced. Drinks are overpriced and water downed. It's definitely loud on a Friday night. Would not return at my leisure. There are way better Mexican inspired restaurants out there.
We sat at the bar at first, the bartender was friendly and fun to watch make all the cool drinks. We then moved to a table out toward the street. A perfect place to people watch and be surrounded by the hustle and bustle of a Saturday afternoon at Quincy Market. Our server was an absolute sweetheart and the food was good. But the main event is definitely the variety of tequila and drinks.
Very fun place. Great atmosphere and friendly/helpful staff. Had a work event here and it was a great time. Very good Mexican style bar food, not much of a beer selection but has solid house margheritas for a good price. Not a place for fine dining but a great one for getting drinks and apps
Service was nonexistent and the food was not good. Will not be going back.
Awesome food. Incredible margarita. No syrup, just lime, triple sec, and tequila--so yummy and refreshing.
Servers stand around rather than waiting on tables. Reservations hold up tables that could be filled for outside seating. Processes put in place by management hold this place back from its potential.
If you love tequila this is the place for you. They have an extremely wide choice not only of tequila but also cocktails and carefully prepared and presented excellently.
Delicious Mexican food! Service was nice and quick. Excellent tacos!
